Starbeck

The Great Yorkshire Show (GYS) is an agricultural show which takes place on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, North Yorkshire in the North of England annually from the second Tuesday of July until the following Thursday. It is organised and run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS). Since the demise of the Royal Show the GYS has been the largest agricultural show in England, however within the UK it is surpassed by both the Royal Welsh Show and the Royal Highland Show. The show is highly successful and the Society generated income of £9.6 million in 2016. A new Hall at the showground, costing £11 million, opened in 2016 and produced more than £1 million of income in its first year.

Rudding Park Hotel, Spa and Golf is a Grade I listed Regency-style country house in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England.It is situated within the 2,000-acre (8.1 km2) Rudding Park estate at Follifoot on the southern outskirts of Harrogate. It is a two-storey building made of ashlar with a Westmorland slate roof, designed in the style of the Wyatts by an unknown architect.

The Great Yorkshire Railway Preservation Society was a short-lived preservation scheme, based in Starbeck, North Yorkshire in England. It was formed in 1980 with the aim of restoring part of the Leeds-Northallerton Railway and based at the former Starbeck loco shed, then owned by Octavius Atkinson steel works. The steel works closed in 1989, and the group moved to the Yorkshire Museum of Farming at Murton, near York, where they went on to successfully restore part of the former Derwent Valley Light Railway.

Starbeck is a railway station on the Harrogate Line, which runs between Leeds and York via Harrogate. The station, situated 18+1⁄4 miles (29 km) west of York, serves the suburb of Starbeck, Borough of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains.

Wetherby Road, known for sponsorship purposes as the EnviroVent Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Harrogate, England. It is mostly used for football matches, being the home ground of Harrogate Town A.F.C. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people, and is situated on the A661 Wetherby Road, adjacent to Harrogate District Hospital.

Harrogate Town Association Football Club is a professional association football club based in the spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. The club competes in League Two, the fourth tier of English football, after winning the 2019–20 National League play-offs. The club is nicknamed "Town" and also the "Sulphurites", due to Harrogate's famous sulphur springs. The club's colours are black and yellow and they play their home games at Wetherby Road, though for a short period at the start of the 2020–21 season, the club shared Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium while a new pitch was laid. Formed in 1914, the club entered the Northern League, but were unable to compete due to the outbreak of World War I. They eventually played their first competitive fixture in the West Riding League in August 1919. They were a founding member of the Yorkshire League the following year and also entered the Midland League in 1921. They finished as Yorkshire League champions in 1926–27, but were disbanded in 1932. Harrogate Hotspurs were founded in 1935 and changed their name to Harrogate Town after football returned at the end of World War II, joining the West Yorkshire Association League. They entered the Yorkshire League again in 1957, before becoming founder members of the Northern Counties East League in 1982 and a founding member of the Northern Premier League's First Division in 1987. They won the Northern Premier League Division One title in 2001–02 and became founder members of the Conference North in 2004. They won the National League North play-offs in 2018 and then secured a place in the Football League for the first time with victory in the 2020 National League play-off final.The team won the 2019–20 FA Trophy in a final against Concord Rangers played on 3 May 2021.

St Andrew's Church is in High Street, Starbeck, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Harrogate, the archdeaconry of Richmond, and the Diocese of Leeds. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The current vicar is the Reverend Phil Carman.

St John Fisher Catholic High School, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, is an 11–18 Catholic comprehensive school. It has developed steadily during the past 50 years and has around 1,450 pupils. The school is set in 22 acres (8.9 ha) on the south side of Harrogate and skirted by Hookstone Wood.

Crimple Valley is an area south of Harrogate (North Yorkshire) surrounding the River Crimple (also known as Crimple Beck). It gave its name to the synthetic yarn Crimplene, which was developed at the nearby ICI Laboratory. It is crossed by the Crimple Valley Viaduct.
