Sprengplatz Grunewald

Krumme Lanke is a lake in the south west of Berlin, in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough of the city and on the edge of the Grunewald forest. After Nikolassee and the neighbouring Schlachtensee, it is the southernmost of the Grunewald chain of lakes.

Schlachtensee (German pronunciation ) is a lake in the south west of Berlin, in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough (in the quarters of Schlachtensee), on the edge of the Grunewald forest. The lake lends its name to the surrounding area and to the nearby Studentendorf Schlachtensee, a student residence. The area has been part of Berlin since 1920.

Berlin-Schlachtensee (in German Bahnhof Berlin-Schlachtensee) is a railway station in the Schlachtensee quarter in the district Steglitz-Zehlendorf of Berlin, Germany. It is served by the Berlin S-Bahn. The station is south of the lake Schlachtensee and was opened in 1874. The service was temporarily suspended because of the low use because of the S-Bahn-Boykott during the Cold War, to demonstrate against the GDR who also operated the S-Bahn in the west of berlin, despite the wall. In 1970, the tracks were dismantled. It was not until 1985 that operations could be resumed.

The Grunewald Tower or Grunewaldturm is a historical tower in the Grunewald forest of southwestern Berlin, Germany, built in 1897-99 according to plans designed by Franz Heinrich Schwechten. The viewing platform offers a view over the Havel at a height of 36 metres (118 ft).

Teufelssee (German, 'Devil's Lake') is a glacial lake in the Grunewald forest in the Berlin borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.The European bitterling, classified as "very vulnerable" in Germany can be found in the lake; fishing is prohibited by law. Nude bathing is permitted at the lake as in many parts of Germany.

Grunewald (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʁuːnəˌvalt] (listen)) is a German forest located in the western side of Berlin on the east side of the Havel, mainly in the Grunewald locality. At 3,000 hectares (7,400 acres) it is the largest green area in the city of Berlin.

Berlin Mexikoplatz (in German Bahnhof Berlin Mexikoplatz) is a railway station in the Zehlendorf district of Berlin, Germany. It is served by the Berlin S-Bahn line S1 and several local bus lines. It is also planned to extend the U3 U-Bahn line here. The station was erected in 1904 as one of the few genuine Art Nouveau buildings in Berlin and it is heritage listed. Its name changed several times: from Zehlendorf-Beerenstraße to Zehlendorf-West in 1911, to Lindenthaler Allee in 1958 and finally to Mexikoplatz in 1987.

The Automobil-Verkehrs- und Übungsstraße ('Automobile traffic and training road'), known as AVUS, is a public road in Berlin, Germany. Opened in 1921, it is the oldest controlled-access highway in Europe. Until 1998, it was also used as a motor racing circuit. Today, the AVUS forms the northern part of the Bundesautobahn 115.

Teufelsberg (German: [ˈtɔʏfl̩sbɛʁk] (listen); German for Devil's Mountain) is a non-natural hill in Berlin, Germany, in the Grunewald locality of former West Berlin. It rises about 80 metres (260 ft) above the surrounding Teltow plateau and 120.1 metres (394 ft) above the sea level, in the north of Berlin's Grunewald Forest. It was named after the Teufelssee (Devil's Lake) in its southerly vicinity. The hill is made of debris and rubble, and covers an unfinished Nazi military-technical college (Wehrtechnische Fakultät). During the Cold War, there was a U.S. listening station on the hill, Field Station Berlin. The site of the former field station is now fenced off and is currently being managed by an organisation which charges 5 to 10 euros for public access.
