Northup Avenue Yard

The Cycledrome was an American football stadium and velodrome located in Providence, Rhode Island. Its name derived from its intended use as a bicycle racing stadium (velodrome) when it was built in 1925 by sports promoter Pete Laudati. The stadium was home to the Providence Steam Roller of the National Football League (NFL) from 1925 to 1933, who played their games in the infield of the velodrome. The football field was snugly surrounded by a wooden track with steeply-banked ends, which cut sharply into the end zones and reduced them to just five yards in depth. During football games, temporary seating was permitted on the straight-away portion of the track, which was so close to the field that players, after being tackled, often found themselves in the stands. In 1930 floodlights were installed at the stadium for night games, and the Steam Roller became the first NFL team to host a game under lights.The Cycledrome had a capacity of 10,000 spectators.The Cycledrome was located off North Main Street, near the Providence-Pawtucket line. In its later years, the Cycledrome was the location of the E.M. Loewe's drive-in theater. The site is now home to an Ocean State Job Lot and a Peter Pan Bus Terminal.

The Hope Webbing Company Mill is a historic textile mill at 999-1005 Main Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The three brick buildings on this 7-acre (2.8 ha) are the surviving elements of what was once a larger complex, extending across Esten Avenue. The oldest portion of the main mill and the boiler house were built in 1889, with the mill growing by numerous additions through 1914. The preparing building was built in 1902 and enlarged in 1913. The Hope Webbing Company was established in 1883, and used these premises to manufacture narrow fabrics (less than 6 inches (15 cm) in width) using many different types of fibers, including cotton, jute, wool, and silk. The company occupied all or part of the premises until 1994, when it moved its remaining production to Cumberland.The mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Jeremiah Dexter House is a historic colonial house in Providence, Rhode Island. It is a 1+1⁄2-story gambrel-roofed wood-frame structure, built in 1754 for printer Jeremiah Dexter on farm land that was originally granted to his ancestor Gregory Dexter, a friend and printer for Roger Williams. It is five bays wide, with a large central chimney typical of the period, and is one of the few surviving colonial-era farmhouses in the city. The Dexter farm is further notable as the site where French Army troops were stationed upon their return from Virginia in 1782, during the American Revolutionary War. The paved parking lot which surrounds the house on two sides is believed to contain archaeological remains of the French camp.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Hope is a neighborhood on the northern border of Providence, Rhode Island. To the west, it is bounded by North Main Street, the North Burial Ground, and Interstate 95, while Rochambeau Ave, Hope Street, and the Providence-Pawtucket city line roughly delineate its boundaries to the south, east, and north respectively. Hope is sometimes referred to as "Summit", named for the street that runs through the middle of the neighborhood. Though "Hope" is officially recognized, residents and the local neighborhood organization more often use "Summit".

Bishop Keough Regional High School was a private, Roman Catholic, all-girls high school in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It was located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence.

The Susan S. and Edward J. Cutler House is a historic house in Providence, Rhode Island. It is an L-shaped 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, with a gabled roof and a single-story porch and vestibule in the crook of the L. The front facade has a rectangular projecting bay, with panels below the windows, and a bracketed hip roof. The front and side gables both feature Stick style decorative woodwork. The entry porch roof is bracketed, matching the front bay, and has a jigsawn balustrade. The interior features late Victorian woodwork, plasterwork and original hardware. The house was built in 1880, probably from plans in a published pattern book, and was the first to be built in a relatively new subdivision on Providence's north side. It is a well-preserved example of a "picturesque cottage", a style popularized by a number of 19th-century architects.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The Miriam Hospital is a private, not-for-profit hospital at 164 Summit Avenue in Providence, in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It is a major teaching affiliate of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

The Summit Historic District is a residential historic district in northeastern Providence, Rhode Island. It is bounded on the east by Summit Avenue, the south by Rochambeau Avenue, the west by Camp Street, and the north by Memorial Road and Creston Way. It contains 155 houses, most of which were built between 1918 and 1938. The area was annexed by Providence in 1874 and platted out of farmland in 1916, and represents a typical suburban development of the period. Most of these houses are set on lots between 4,500 and 5,500 square feet in size, although there are some double lots. Single family homes predominate, with a number of two- and three-family houses present. Architecturally the houses are heterogeneous, with styles ranging from the late Queen Anne to the Colonial and Tudor Revivals. The only significant non-residential structure in the district is Temple Beth Shalom at 120 Rochambeau Avenue, which does not contribute to its significance.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The North Burial Ground is a 110-acre (0.45 km2) cemetery in Providence, Rhode Island dating to 1700, the first public cemetery in Providence. It is located north of downtown Providence, bounded by North Main Street, Branch Avenue, the Moshassuck River, and Cemetery Street. Its main entrance is at the junction of Branch and North Main. The burial ground is one of the larger municipal cemeteries in Southern New England, and it accepts 220 to 225 burials per year.

The Roger Mowry Tavern, also known variously as the Roger Mowry House, Olney House and Abbott House, was a historic stone ender house, built around 1653, in Providence, Rhode Island. Roger Mowry was a constable and operated the only tavern in the town. The tavern also served as a government meeting place, church, and jail. It was originally constructed as a 1+1⁄2-story single room house with a chamber upstairs. By 1711 the house was expanded with a two-story lean-to by 1711. At unknown later date, the top of the roof of the original house was raised up further. The original portion of the house was restored by Norman Isham by 1895. The Roger Mowry Tavern was the oldest house in Providence until it was demolished in 1900.

Mount Hope is a neighborhood in northern Providence, Rhode Island. It is one of six neighborhoods comprising the East Side of Providence. The area is bounded to the north by Rochambeau Avenue, to the east by Hope Street, to the south by Olney Street, while the western border is the former New York-New Haven Railroad (now Amtrak and MBTA) and Interstate 95.Camp Street is often used as a landmark for the neighborhood, as it runs lengthwise through Mount Hope's center. The area includes the North Burial Ground. The neighborhood is 44.5% non-Hispanic White, 29.4% African-American, and 10.4% Hispanic. Median household income is $28,413, and median family income is $35,476. 24.0% of families live below the poverty line.

The Rhode Island Tool Company is a historic industrial property at 146-148 West River Street in Providence, Rhode Island. It is a 5-acre (2.0 ha) parcel located between West River Street and the channelized West River, on which stand two historic buildings. The main building of the complex is a sprawling agglomeration of attached structures, whose construction began in 1853, and whose surviving elements include six parts that predate the American Civil War. Construction of the complex was begun by the Providence Forge & Nut Company, which purchased the Providence Tool Company, and was the largest employer in Providence in the 1870s. The complex represents the best-preserved period metal-processing facility in Providence, and was the only drop-forging operation the state when it closed in 2003.The building has been repurposed as an office and technical space. Is is now called the West River Center. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
