Storeton

Storeton Hall was a country house in the village of Storeton, Wirral, Merseyside, England. It was built in the 14th century for the Stanley family and consisted of an H-shaped building including a great hall. Only the north wing, a wall of the great hall, and a block between them that contained a chapel, have survived, and have been incorporated into farm buildings. The remains of the hall are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Prenton Golf Club is a golf club to the south of Prenton, Merseyside, England. Prenton Golf Club was established in 1905 and was designed by the famous golf architect of his time James Braid. The course is a scenic parkland course of 6,457 yards and has held many a Cheshire Union County fixture and tournament over its illustrious history. The course has views to the west across the Wirral Peninsula with the Welsh mountains in the distance – and yet it is located close to the cities of Liverpool and Chester.

The Hundred of Wirral is the ancient administrative area for the Wirral Peninsula. Its name is believed to have originated from the Hundred of Wilaveston, the historic name for Willaston, which was an important assembly point in the Wirral Hundred during the Middle Ages. The ton suffix in a place name normally indicates a previous use as a meeting location for officials. During its existence, the hundred was one of the Hundreds of Cheshire. Since local government reorganisation, implemented on 1 April 1974, the area is split between Merseyside (Metropolitan Borough of Wirral) and Cheshire.

St Stephen's Church is in Prenton Lane, Prenton, Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Birkenhead, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Storeton transmitting station (also commonly known as the Storeton transmitter) is a television transmitter being a member of both the Winter Hill group of transmitters and of the Moel-y-Parc group of transmitter (public service multiplexes only), and an FM radio transmitter, with transmitting antennas affixed to a mast located on Storeton Ridge, Higher Bebington, Wirral, UK (national grid reference: SJ314841). The site is owned and operated by Arqiva. It was originally solely an analogue TV relay of the Winter Hill transmitter and the only Winter Hill relay to carry all five analogue TV channels prior to digital switchover. The 45 metre-high (150 ft-high) mast is situated at an elevation of 65.5 metres (215 ft). Thus, the top of the mast has an overall height of 110.5 metres (363 ft) above sea level. Construction of the mast was completed in 1980. As of 2009, the TV transmitter serves approximately 45,000 homes.

Prenton is a suburb of Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. Administratively, it is also a ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. Before local government reorganisation on 1 April 1974, it was part of the County Borough of Birkenhead, within the county of Cheshire. Situated in the east of the Wirral Peninsula, the area is contiguous with Oxton to the north, Tranmere and Rock Ferry to the east and Higher Bebington to the south east. The M53 motorway marks the western boundary. At the 2001 census, the population of Prenton was 14,429. The population of the ward increased slightly to 14,488 in the 2011 census.

Prenton Brook is a tributary of the River Fender, in Wirral, Merseyside. The brook starts as field drainage east of Thingwall and flows through Barnston Dale. Prenton Brook joins the River Fender at Prenton. The River Fender then joins the Birket at Leasowe. The Birket discharges into the West Float at the site of the former Wallasey Pool, which itself discharges into the River Mersey. Prenton Brook is about 2 miles (3.2 km) long.

Brimstage Hall and Tower is a Grade I listed 14th century building located in Brimstage, Wirral, England. The building is composed of a 16th-century hall; rebuilt on the site of a former 12th century hall, as well as a connecting tower built in 1398. Today the area has been redeveloped, with the building's courtyard converted into restaurants and gift shops.

Storeton railway station was located on the northern side of Station Road, between Barnston and Storeton, England.

Wirral Rural District was a rural district on the Wirral Peninsula in Cheshire, England from 1894 to 1933. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 from the Wirral Rural Sanitary District. From the beginning of the twentieth century, some civil parishes were transferred to the control of neighbouring local authorities. Netherpool, Whitby and Overpool had become part of Ellesmere Port Urban District by 1911. Landican, Prenton and Thingwall were absorbed into Birkenhead County Borough in 1928.Wirral Rural District was abolished on 1 April 1933 under a County Review Order, with the remaining civil parishes being split between Bebington Urban District, Birkenhead County Borough, Ellesmere Port Urban District, Hoylake Urban District, Neston Urban District, Wallasey County Borough and the new Wirral Urban District.As of 2023 the area of the former rural district is divided between the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral in Merseyside and the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester in Cheshire.

Prenton Park is a large outdoor seated association football stadium in Birkenhead, England. It is the home ground of Tranmere Rovers, as well as Liverpool's women and reserves teams. The ground has had several rebuilds, with the most recent occurring in 1995 in response to the requirement of the Taylor Report to become all-seater. Today's stadium holds 16,587 in four stands: the Kop, the Johnny King Stand, the Main Stand and the Cowshed (for away supporters). Attendances at the ground have fluctuated over its hundred-year history. Its largest-ever crowd was 24,424 for a 1972 FA Cup match between Tranmere and Stoke City. In 2010, an average of 5,000 fans attended each home game.
