Prenton Park

Prenton is a suburb of Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. Administratively, it is also a ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. Before local government reorganisation on 1 April 1974, it was part of the County Borough of Birkenhead, within the county of Cheshire. Situated in the east of the Wirral Peninsula, the area is contiguous with Oxton to the north, Tranmere and Rock Ferry to the east and Higher Bebington to the south east. The M53 motorway marks the western boundary. At the 2001 census, the population of Prenton was 14,429. The population of the ward increased slightly to 14,488 in the 2011 census.

Prenton Golf Club is a golf club to the south of Prenton, Merseyside, England. Prenton Golf Club was established in 1905 and was designed by the famous golf architect of his time James Braid. The course is a scenic parkland course of 6,457 yards and has held many a Cheshire Union County fixture and tournament over its illustrious history. The course has views to the west across the Wirral Peninsula with the Welsh mountains in the distance – and yet it is located close to the cities of Liverpool and Chester.

Tranmere is a suburb of Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. Administratively, it is within the Birkenhead and Tranmere Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside. Before local government reorganisation on 1 April 1974, it was part of the County Borough of Birkenhead, within the geographical county of Cheshire. At the 2001 census, the population of Tranmere was 11,668. By the 2011 census the suburb was combined with the centre of Birkenhead. The population was recorded as 15,879.
