Benowa is a suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census Benowa had a population of 8,741 people.

Benowa State High School (BSHS) is an independent, co-educational school, founded in 1980, located on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is part of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and hosts exchange students from Asia, America, Africa and Europe. It started a French Immersion program in 1985 and was the first school to offer Marine Biology as a subject in the Queensland curriculum. In 2015, they commenced their Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based educational program. In 2017, the International Baccalaureate diploma program was offered to years 11 and 12, along with a preparatory course in grade 10.

The RACV Gold Coast Challenge was a golf tournament played in Australia. It was one of the leading tournaments on the ALPG Tour and was co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) since 2001. Between 1997 and 2000 it was an event on the LPGA Tour. It has been played at the RACV Royal Pines Resort in Benowa, Queensland, a suburb of Gold Coast since 1992. In 2007 the Masters was the richest women's golf tournament in Australia, with a prize fund of A$800,000. Although the 2008 prize fund dropped to A$600,000, the tournament remained the richest in Australia. The 144 strong 2015 field consisted of 50 ALPG players, 50 LET players, 10 LPGA of Korea Tour players, 5 China Ladies Professional Golf Association players, 3 leading players from the Women's World Golf Rankings and sponsor's invitees.The tournament was founded in 1990 as a 54-hole stroke play event, and was originally called the Australian Ladies Masters. It expanded to 72 holes in 1994. Australia's most successful women golfer Karrie Webb won the event a record eight times.

Pindara Private Hospital (or simply known as Pindara), is an acute medical, surgical and maternity hospital servicing the northern end of the Gold Coast. Pindara is the largest private hospital in the city, with 348 licensed beds, 17 operating theatres and a 24-hour emergency/ cardiac centre.

The RACV Royal Pines Resort is located in Benowa, City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is the host of the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Ladies Masters. The resort contains a triangular tower hotel, conference center and a 27 hole golf course. It is the former host of the Mondial Australian Women's Hardcourts on the WTA Tour, which is now the Brisbane International in Brisbane, Australia.

Sir Bruce Small Park is a sporting facility located in Benowa, a suburb of the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. Its baseball facilities are home to the Surfers Paradise Baseball Club, current premiers of the Greater Brisbane League. It has hosted many high-profile Australian baseball events such as the Masters Games and University Games. The adjacent oval is home to the Surfers Paradise-Benowa Cricket Club and Surfers Paradise Australian Football Club, which plays in the QAFL. It is named after former Gold Coast mayor Sir Bruce Small.

The 1967 Rothmans 12 Hour was an endurance race for Sports Racing Cars & Improved Production Cars. The event was staged at the Surfers Paradise International Raceway in Queensland, Australia on 3 September 1967.

The 1969 Chevron Paradise 6 Hour was an endurance race for Sports Cars and Touring Cars. The event was held at the Surfers Paradise circuit in Queensland, Australia on 2 November 1969.The race was won by Kunimitsu Takahashi & Yoshikayo Sunago, driving a Datsun R380 Mk. 2.

The 1970 Rothmans 12 Hour was an endurance motor race for Group E Series Production Touring Cars. The event was held at the Surfers Paradise International Raceway in Queensland, Australia on 4 January 1970 with the field divided into four classes determined by the retail price of the vehicle. The race was won by Colin Bond and Tony Roberts driving a Class D Holden Monaro HT GTS350 for the Harry Firth run Holden Dealer Team. The pair, who four months earlier had won the 1969 Hardie-Ferodo 500 at Bathurst, covered 435 laps of the 3.219 km (2.000 mi) circuit for a distance of 1,400.265 km (870 mi).

The 1966 Rothman's 12-Hour was an international sports car race held at the Surfers Paradise International Motor Circuit in Queensland, Australia on 21 August 1966. It was the first of four annual sports car endurance races held at the Queensland circuit between 1966 and 1969. The race was won by Jackie Stewart and Andrew Buchanan driving a Ferrari 250LM.

The 1971 Rothmans 250 was motor race for Group E Series Production Touring Cars. It was staged on 7 November 1971 at the Surfers Paradise International Raceway in Queensland, Australia, over a 250-mile distance. The race, which was Heat 5 of the 1971 Australian Manufacturers' Championship, was won by Allan Moffat driving a Ford Falcon GTHO.
