Tyabb is a township and semi rural locality on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 53 km (33 mi) south-east of Melbourne's central business district, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. Tyabb recorded a population of 3,449 at the 2021 census.Tyabb is within an urban enclave on Western Port comprising Tyabb, Hastings, Bittern, Crib Point, and Somerville. It is served by the Tyabb railway station on the Stony Point railway line. Statistically it is part of Greater Melbourne. Mornington Peninsula's first Dog only café is located out the back of the Tyabb Packing House.

Tyabb Airport (ICAO: YTYA), also called Tyabb Airfield, is a small regional airport located just west of the town of Tyabb, Victoria on the Mornington Peninsula. Tyabb is the site of the Tyabb Air Show, which is held every two years.

Somerville recorded a population of 11,767 at the 2021 census.Somerville forms part of an urban enclave on Western Port comprising Somerville, Hastings, Bittern, Crib Point, and Tyabb. Statistically, it is part of Greater Melbourne. The size of Somerville is approximately 38 km2 (15 sq mi). Originally an orchard town Somerville has experienced significant population growth over the last twenty-five years. It is served by Somerville railway station on the Stony Point Line, as well as a bus service to Frankston. Yaringa Marina, east of the township, offers boat access to Western Port.

It serves the town of Hastings, and it opened on 10 September 1889.The station once had a goods yard opposite the platform, however it is now closed and the tracks have been removed, with a disused crane remaining on site. In 1973, a number of roads in the yard were extended.On 22 June 1981, the passenger service between Frankston and Stony Point was withdrawn and replaced with a bus service, with the line between Long Island Junction and Stony Point also closing on the same day. On 16 September 1984, promotional trips for the reopening of the line began, with the passenger service reinstated on 27 September 1984.The current station building was provided in February 1986, replacing the original timber building.In 2004, points at the Up and Down ends of the station were removed, and the track was straight railed.

Baxter is a township and rural locality beyond the Urban Growth Boundary in Victoria, Australia, 48 km (30 mi) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. Baxter recorded a population of 2,166 at the 2021 census.It is served by Baxter railway station on the Stony Point greater-metropolitan line. Originally named Baxter's Flat, Baxter was founded by pastoralist Benjamin Baxter, who lived in a property named Carrup Carrup - the Aboriginal name. The property still exists today on what is now the Frankston-Flinders Road, as does the original cottage he and his wife Martha lived in. Benjamin Baxter died in 1892 and his gravestone, found in the Frankston Cemetery, reads "Benjamin Baxter, late of h. m. 50th regiment. Died at Currup Currup 15 May 1892, aged 87. Also Martha, beloved wife of above 31 January 1906 age 94 years". It was at Baxter's Flat that the railway to Mornington and Stony Point (built in the late 1880s) separated. The station was called Mornington Junction before being changed to Baxter, however its role as a junction ended in the 1980s with the closure of the Mornington line. The early township grew around the railway station and a Post Office named Mornington Junction opened on 1 December 1892 (Baxter from 1918) Other historic cottages in the area include a primitive 1850s homestead called Eurutta (formerly Sage's Cottage), and a 1920s American-style residence called Mulberry Hill.Baxter Primary School was established in 1890.

Sandstone Island is a small island located approximately one kilometre southeast of the Hastings foreshore in Western Port, Victoria, Australia. Sandstone Island has an area of approximately 19 hectares and is adjacent to Jacks Beach. The island is situated in an area where significant mangrove communities exist. The Island is quite devoid of significant vegetation, however its location in an environmentally significant area in Western Port, places particular emphasis on ensuring appropriate use and development on the Island. The island has been owned by a group of private Sydney buyers since November 2021. Like French Island, Sandstone Island is an unincorporated area under the direct administration of the government of Victoria, and both are subject to the French Island and Sandstone Island Planning Scheme.
