Union Cemetery is a historic cemetery on Woodside Road (CA 84) near El Camino Real in Redwood City, San Mateo County, California. The cemetery was named a California Historical Landmark #816 in 1967, then added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Everest Public High School is a college preparatory, tuition-free, and public charter high school in Redwood City, California, United States. The school, which was modeled after Summit Preparatory Charter High School in Redwood City, opened in August 2009 following State approval of the Everest charter.In 2016, Everest received U.S. News & World Report's Best High Schools Gold Award, ranking it as #21 in California and #186 nationally. The AP® participation rate at Everest Public High is 97 percent. The student body makeup is 52 percent male and 48 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 71 percent. GreatSchools has given Everest a 9 out of 10 rating.The location of the school has been disputed, with Sequoia District seeking to relocate it to East Palo Alto, but a lawsuit with the district was settled in May 2010. In August 2011, Everest moved to its permanent location on 5th Avenue in Redwood City.Everest admits roughly 100 freshmen each year. As per California state charter law, when the number of applicants to a charter school exceeds the number of open spots, offers of admission are distributed through a blind lottery.

Redwood City is a city on the San Francisco Peninsula in Northern California's Bay Area, approximately 27 miles (43 km) south of San Francisco, and 24 miles (39 km) northwest of San Jose. Redwood City's history spans its earliest inhabitation by the Ohlone people to being a port for lumber and other goods. The city's population was 84,292 according to the 2020 census. The Port of Redwood City is the only deepwater port on San Francisco Bay south of San Francisco. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has an area of 34.7 square miles (90 km2), of which 19.4 square miles (50 km2) is land and 15.2 square miles (39 km2) (44.34%) is water. A major watercourse draining much of Redwood City is Redwood Creek, to which several significant river deltas connect, the largest of which is Westpoint Slough.

North Fair Oaks is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area located in San Mateo County, California adjacent to Redwood City, Atherton, and Menlo Park. As of the 2020 census the area had a total population of 14,027. Because of the large number of residents from one Mexican state the area is also known as Little Michoacán. The larger area including North Fair Oaks and adjacent parts of Redwood City has a large Latino population and is known locally as Little Mexico. The neighborhood is distinctive, as it is one out of only three communities (the others being East Palo Alto and Pescadero) in San Mateo County that have a majority Hispanic population.

The Redwood City Historic Commercial Buildings is an historic district in Redwood City, California that comprises four buildings constructed from 1859-1912. These buildings include the Pioneer Store, the Bank of San Mateo County building, the Sequoia Hotel, and the Alhambra Theater.

Redwood City station is a Caltrain commuter rail station located in Redwood City, California. It is served by all trains. The station has two side platforms serving the two tracks of the Peninsula Subdivision. The original station building was built in 1902. The structure burned down in 1979 and was replaced with a "temporary" station in a trailer. A new waiting shelter was built in 1995, designed to emulate the original though with the addition of a clock tower.

The Fox Theatre in Redwood City, CA opened in 1929, was remodeled in 1950, and was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

The San Mateo County History Museum is located in downtown Redwood City, California. Housed inside the former San Mateo County Courthouse built in 1910, the museum showcases the rich history of San Mateo County and the surrounding area. Operations and funding for the museum are by the San Mateo County Historical Association (SMCHA). The current location of this museum opened on February 6, 1999, however from 1963 until 1998 the museum was located at the College of San Mateo. The building is a product of the City Beautiful Movement (1893-1920) and has a stained-glass dome thought to be the largest of its kind on the West Coast. Two other museums are operated by the SMCHA including the Woodside Store and the Sánchez Adobe Park.
