Seddon railway station

Seddon is an inner-city suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 7 km (4.3 mi) west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Maribyrnong local government area. Seddon recorded a population of 5,143 at the 2021 census.Located south of Footscray and north of Yarraville, Seddon was formerly a semi-industrial, working-class suburb. In recent years Seddon has experienced rapid gentrification due to its close proximity to the Melbourne City Centre.

The St. Prophet Ilija Macedonian Orthodox Church (Macedonian: Македонска Православна Црква „Свети Пророк Илија“, Makedonska Pravoslavna Crkva „Sveti Prorok Ilija“) is a Macedonian Orthodox church serving the inner western Melbourne suburb of Footscray, Victoria, Australia. The church borders Footscray and is itself located on the outskirts of Seddon, a inner western Melburnian suburb. Built as a Methodist Church, it was transformed into a Macedonian Orthodox Church in the mid 1970s.

Footscray Town Hall, also known as Maribyrnong Town Hall since council amalgamations in the 1990s, is a civic building located on Napier Street in Footscray, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. The hall was built in 1936 to the design of architect Joseph Plottel in the Romanesque Revival—Richardson Romanesque style. It replaced the previous town hall on the same site, which was demolished in 1935. The building is now used as the main council chambers of the City of Maribyrnong.

It was formed in 1994 from the merger of the City of Footscray and parts of the City of Sunshine. In June 2018, Maribyrnong had a population of 91,387. According to Local Government Victoria, Maribyrnong has the second most ethnically diverse population in Victoria, with 40% of residents born outside Australia. Many of Maribyrnong's former industrial sites have been replaced by residential developments. New residents are generally more educated and higher income. Maribyrnong attracted new cultural groups. Its name comes from the nearby Maribyrnong River.

A disused signal box is located on the island platform at the up (Flinders Street) end of Platform 5, while a pair of dual gauge tracks form the mainly freight only South Kensington–West Footscray line under the station, running in a cutting before entering the Bunbury Street tunnel, providing a rail link to the Port of Melbourne and other freight terminals, as well as access to Southern Cross for the NSW TrainLink XPT, The Overland, and V/Line Albury services.
