Chadstone is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 13 km (8.1 mi) south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Chadstone recorded a population of 9,552 at the 2021 census.Landmarks include the Waverley Basketball Centre, Jordanville Community Centre and the Matthew Flinders Hotel. Scotchmans Creek runs along Chadstone's southern boundary, the Glen Waverley railway line along the northern boundary, Warrigal Road to the west and Huntingdale Road to the east. The Monash Freeway runs through the suburb.

Ashburton is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 12 km (7.5 mi) southeast of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Boroondara local government area. Ashburton recorded a population of 7,952 at the 2021 census.Ashburton is known for the Ashburton Village shopping strip, the Ashburton Community Centre and the Ashburton Library on High Street. Nearby Warner Avenue hosts the Ashburton Pool and Recreation Centre and the Ashburton Seniors Centre. It is in close proximity to the Holmesglen Institute of TAFE, Monash University (Caulfield and Clayton campuses), Deakin University (Burwood campus) and Swinburne University (Hawthorn campus). In 2021, Ashburton residents were found to have the longest lifespan of any residents in Victoria.

Chadstone High School (State School number 7710) was a former Victorian Government high school, located in the Melbourne suburb of Chadstone. Chadstone High School was often referred to as "Chaddy High".

Salesian College is a Roman Catholic Independent school for boys located in the Melbourne suburb of Chadstone. Founded on the philosophies of Saint John Bosco, the college aims to offer a Salesian ideal of education. Salesian comprises two campuses – Bosco (Years 7–8 & Years 10–12) being the school's main campus and Mannix (Year 9) catering solely for one year level. The reason for this is because of all the camps and student experiences in the Mannix campus (Year 9). Salesian is a member of the Associated Catholic Colleges.

Alamein railway station is the terminus of the suburban electrified Alamein line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Ashburton, and it opened on 28 June 1948.

Ashwood is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 14 km south east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Monash local government area. Ashwood recorded a population of 7,154 at the 2021 census.Ashwood was named after the suburbs of Burwood and Ashburton, because it is located between the two. It has the postcode of 3147, which it shares with the neighbouring suburb of Ashburton. Ashwood is bounded by Huntingdale Road to the east, the Glen Waverley railway line to the south, Warrigal Road to the west and a wandering alignment to the north that approximately follows Carlyle Street, Zodiac Street, Gardiners Creek, Ashwood Drive, Montpellier Road and Arthur Street.

Chadstone Shopping Centre (colloquially known as Chaddy) is a super regional shopping centre located in the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Malvern East. Chadstone Shopping Centre is the biggest shopping centre in Australia and one of the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere. The centre opened on 3 October 1960 and was the first self-contained regional shopping centre in Melbourne. The centre contains 129,924m2 of shop floor space, about 530 stores and more than 9300 free car parking spaces. It has as many as 68,000 visitors on its busiest trading days and attracts about 400,000 tourists a year from interstate and 200,000 from overseas. Sales at the centre exceed $1.4 billion—the highest turnover of all Australian shopping centres—and it has more than 20 million visitors annually.The centre, also known colloquially as "Chaddy", includes anchor stores such as the Myer and David Jones department stores, H&M, Zara and Uniqlo (opened late 2016 as part of a renovation), Coles, Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets, as well as Kmart and Target discount department stores, JB Hi-Fi, and more than 500 specialty stores, of which the majority are fashion-related, including numerous high-end labels like Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co and More. Also located in the centre is an Apple Store, a Tesla dealership and Legoland Discovery Centre with a Lego Store and Hoyts. There are two food courts, two office towers located at the southern side of the centre and a newly built hotel. The centre's owners had sought a further expansion to include a 250-room hotel and 15,000m2 of offices (including its owner Vicinity Centres Head Office), to take total floor space to 221,217m2, including 156,924m2 of shop floor space. Construction of the $130 million building started in early 2018 and opened to the public in late 2019.

Ashwood High School is a coeducational public school located in Ashwood, Victoria, Australia. Ashwood offers a wide range of academic subjects and in 2016 introduced an Accelerated Curriculum and Enrichment Program (ACE). This program is unique in that it is the only secondary school in the seat of Burwood with an accelerated learning program. As of November 2019, the curriculum has expanded to include an extensive arts programme. In early 2013 the school was allowed a grant to rebuild the majority of the classroom facilities, which includes the Middle School Centre (opened in late 2014), as well as the Senior School Centre, which opened in 2016.

Ashburton railway station is located on the Alamein line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Ashburton, and opened on as Norwood on 30 May 1890. It was renamed Ashburton on 12 December 1890.

The Oakleigh Recreation Centre is an aquatic and leisure facility in Oakleigh, Victoria, Australia. The centre has a stadium with four multipurpose courts, a health club, a crossfit box, massage services, a cafe and a state-of-the-art outdoor pool. The pool area contains five pools, an outdoor 50m lap pool, a dive pool with seven diving boards, a multi-purpose pool and a toddler pool and splash pad, which is an aquatic playground.

Jordanville railway station is located on the Glen Waverley line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Mount Waverley, and opened on 5 May 1930 as Kabbareng. Just over a week later, on 13 May 1930, it was renamed Jordanville.

Waverley Road was a station on the Outer Circle railway line, opened on 3 March 1890 as "Waverley" on the section between Burnley and Oakleigh stations, and was renamed on 23 June 1890. It became a junction on 30 May 1890 when the line from Camberwell opened, and was a Staff and Ticket station, being provided with a signal box of 28 levers. Two platforms were provided, with the junction of the two lines at the North (Camberwell) end, as was a goods siding located near the current East Malvern station in Malvern East, Victoria, Australia, in what is now the Malvern Urban Forest. The platform, the mound of which can still be seen, was located approximately 120 metres SSE of where the line crossed Waverley Road.The signal box was replaced with a signal frame on the platform in 1891 to save staffing costs. The station was closed on 9 December 1895, along with the lines from Oakleigh to Ashburton station and Darling stations. On 3 February 1929 the line terminating at Darling was extended to East Malvern, and to Glen Waverley on 5 May 1930. In 1948 the line from Camberwell terminating at Ashburton was re-opened a kilometre southwards to the new Alamein station.
