Avereest

Vinkenbuurt is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is part of the municipality of Ommen, and lies about 18 km south of Hoogeveen. It was first mentioned in 1867 as Vinkenbuurt. The romantic explanation is "neighbourhood with chaffinchs" or it might mean "neighbourhood with bad peat". In 1927, a church was constructed, and given its population, it could qualify as a village, but probably remained a hamlet due its spread out farms.

Witharen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is a part of the municipality of Ommen, and lies about 19 km south of Hoogeveen. It was first mentioned in 1533 as "bij Witthaeren", and means "white sandy ridge".

Noordwijk is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under De Wijk. It was first mentioned in the 1850s, and means "north of De Wijk". It consists of about 30 houses.

Punthorst (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈpʏnt.ɦɔrst]) is a hamlet in the Dutch municipality of Staphorst in Overijssel. As of 2021, it had a population of 970.Punthorst is a relatively young residential area, which mostly emerged in the 1930s. The place was first attested as de Punt in 1830–1855. Punthorst itself is most likely a compound of punt ('point') and horst ('overgrown elevated place').
