First opened in 1977, the crescent-shaped Mount Lofty Botanic Garden is situated on 97 hectares on the eastern slopes of Mount Lofty in the Adelaide Hills east of Adelaide in South Australia. The cooler, wetter location suits plants from temperate climates which are difficult to grow on the Adelaide Plains. Amongst the native Australian flora there are tree ferns, as well as exotic cultivated plants from cool climates including Rhododendron and Magnolia and the National Species Rose Collection. The Mount Lofty Botanic Garden, together with the Adelaide and Wittunga Botanic Gardens, is administered by the Botanic Gardens of South Australia, a State Government statutory authority. In 1980, it was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate.

5MMM (identified on air and in print as Triple M) is a radio station broadcasting in Adelaide, Australia. Its target demographic is the 30-54 age group. Triple M Adelaide is part of Southern Cross Austereo's Triple M Network and broadcasts on the 104.7 MHz frequency. Triple M Adelaide has in the past simply networked the majority of its shows from its Sydney and Melbourne counterpart stations, but since 2011 it has focussed more on local content.

Stirling is a town in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, approximately 15 km from the Adelaide city centre. It is administered by the Adelaide Hills Council. Neighbouring townships are Crafers and Aldgate. Other nearby towns are Heathfield and Bridgewater. Of those five, Stirling has by far the largest commercial strip, with the greatest number and widest variety of shops, and the only banks. Stirling East, a similar sized area towards Aldgate, is home to several schools.

The Mount Lofty Fire Tower sits on top of Mount Lofty in the Adelaide Hills just to the east of the city of Adelaide, South Australia. The 34m high tower has a commanding view over a huge area of the rural areas surrounding Adelaide, and on a clear day the view can extend to as far as Kangaroo Island to the southwest, Monarto to the east, the Fleurieu Peninsula to the south, and the grassy plains beyond Two Wells to the north. The tower is used to spot fires in the Adelaide Hills and surrounds on days of very high or extreme fire danger during summer. The spotting crew determine the location of a smoke sighting by taking a bearing and then calculating distance using topographic maps. Details of the sighting are then passed to the 'Adelaide Fire' Communications Centre who despatch the nearest fire brigade.

Mount Lofty Railway Station is located on the Adelaide-Wolseley line and served the Adelaide Hills suburb of Stirling. It is located 19+1⁄4 miles (31.0 km) from Adelaide station.

Piccadilly is a small town in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, Australia. At the 2006 census, Piccadilly had a population of 509.The Piccadilly Valley was for many decades a market gardening centre which produced food for the Adelaide and overseas market. A large part of the valley is now used for growing premium 'cool climate' grape varieties. Piccadilly is home to the Woodhouse Scout Centre, which in addition to scout jamborees hosts school camps and various outdoor activities.

Woorabinda Bushland Reserves, formerly known as the Stirling Linear Park, is a 34 ha network of four parks and reserves located in the suburbs of Stirling and Heathfield in the Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia. The parks are part of the Aldgate Creek catchment which feeds into the Onkaparinga River. 4 km of walking trails connect Stirling Park and Woorabinda to Madurta and Hender Reserves, all of which are open to the general public. The parks contain notable natural and early European heritage value and a network of interpretive signage provides information to park visitors.

Wairoa is a heritage-listed home and garden located in the Adelaide Hills situated at 160 Mount Barker Road between Aldgate and Stirling in South Australia. It was for over three decades the home of Marbury School.

Heathfield is a township in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia near Stirling. It is home to Heathfield High School, Heathfield Primary School, Heathfield Oval, the Heathfield Waste Depot, Mount Lofty Sand and Metal, Masonic homes (retirement Village), a biodynamic farm and a proposed service station development, along with numerous walking trails. Heathfield is also located close to Mount Lofty Ranges. The small country suburb of Heathfield also contains a small conservation park known as Woorabinda. This is used daily by residents to walk their dogs; and ducks to receive free food. The proposed service station is currently a source of controversy, with some local residents creating a petition against the development and others supporting it. The Adelaide Hills Council have also opposed the development. Heathfield is a mix of country living, while still being only 15 minutes from the Adelaide City centre. As such, it has a diverse mix of middle, to upper middle class residents seeking a secluded home, and farmers. At the 2006 census, Heathfield had a population of 1,000, and a median house price of $632,000.
