Woburn Safari Park

Husborne Crawley is a small village and civil parish in Bedfordshire, England, located close to Junction 13 of the M1 motorway. The village touches the borders of the Woburn Abbey estate on one side, and the village of Aspley Guise on the other. The meaning of the Husborne element of the towns name is "warrior stream" and the Crawley element means "crow clearing". It appears as Hussheburn Crawele, in 1421.

Ridgmont is a small village and civil parish in Bedfordshire, England. It is located beside junction 13 of the M1 motorway, and close to Milton Keynes and Woburn Abbey. The 2001 census states the total population to be 418, reducing to 411 at the 2011 Census.The parish is first mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086, by its original name of Segenhoe, which was approximately 500 yards (metres) south east from where the village now lies. In 1227 the name Rugemund was first recorded, taken from the French 'rouge mont' which means red hill.The modern village lies on top of a greensand ridge at approximately 350 feet (110 m) above sea level. The surrounding valley has underlying 'Upper Jurassic Oxford Clay' which is suitable for making bricks. In 1935 the Ridgmont Brickworks were built by the Ridgmont Fletton Brick Company. By 1979, as part of the London Brick Company, the works had 25 chimneys and was said to be the second-largest brickworks in the world.The large Amazon.co.uk warehouse now occupies the site of the former brickworks, which is situated beside the Ridgmont railway station. November 2006 saw work start on the Ridgmont Bypass, and the £15.5 million project was finished in June 2008. The A507 Ridgmont relief road is designed to carry 80 per cent of heavy traffic away from the neighbouring villages.

All Saints Church, Segenhoe is a ruined medieval church located near the village of Ridgmont, Bedfordshire. It contains architectural details that range from the 11th century when it was first built to the 19th century. The church was abandoned in 1855 when a larger church was built in Ridgmont. The cemetery continues to be used for burials. The church is managed by Central Bedfordshire Council. All Saints Church is designated a scheduled Ancient Monument.

Ridgmont railway station is a small unstaffed railway station that serves the village of Ridgmont in Bedfordshire. The station is about 1 mile (2 km) away from Ridgmont on the other side of the M1 Motorway, (beside Junction 13), Brogborough and Husborne Crawley. It also serves the large Amazon warehouse next door. It is on the Bletchley — Bedford Marston Vale line.

Woburn Abbey (), occupying the east of the village of Woburn, Bedfordshire, England, is a country house, the family seat of the Duke of Bedford. Although it is still a family home to the current duke, it is open on specified days to visitors, along with the diverse estate surrounding it, including the historic landscape gardens and deer park (by Humphry Repton), as well as more recently added attractions including Woburn Safari Park, a miniature railway and a garden/visitor centre. It was built by William Russell, 1st Baron Russell of Thornhaugh.

Husborne Crawley railway station served the village of Husborne Crawley, Bedfordshire, England from 1905 to 1941 on the Varsity line.

The Marston Vale line is the line between Bletchley and Bedford in England, a surviving remnant of the former Varsity line between Oxford and Cambridge, most of which was closed in the late 1960s. The line is sponsored by the Marston Vale community rail partnership. The line is to be adopted and upgraded as part of East West Rail, a project underway to re-establish the Oxford–Cambridge route. As of November 2023, the rail service is limited and is supplemented by a bus replacement service.

According to the 2001, census it had a population of 343, reducing to 302 at the 2011 Census. The village is about 2.5 miles (4 km) east of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

Woburn was a rural district in Bedfordshire, England from 1894 to 1900, covering Woburn and surrounding parishes. The district had its origins in the Woburn Rural Sanitary District. This had been created under the Public Health Acts of 1872 and 1875, giving public health and local government responsibilities for rural areas to the existing Boards of Guardians of Poor Law Unions.Under the Local Government Act 1894, Rural Sanitary Districts became Rural Districts from 28 December 1894. The link with the Poor Law Union continued, with all the elected councillors of the Rural District Council being ex officio members of the Woburn Board of Guardians. The first meeting of the new council was held on 4 January 1895 in the board room of the Woburn Union Workhouse. The council's first chairman, James Crouch, had been the chairman of the previous Board of Guardians.Woburn was a relatively small district, with the population of the area in the 1891 census having been 9,295. In 1899 the Woburn Poor Law Union was abolished, being split between the Ampthill Poor Law Union (14 parishes) and Leighton Buzzard Poor Law Union (3 parishes) on 29 September 1899. The Rural District Council tried to have itself similarly disbanded on the same date, but the process of formally abolishing it took a few months longer, with an inquiry being held at Woburn Town Hall in September 1899. The district was finally abolished on 31 March 1900. Its area was split in the same way that the Poor Law Union had been, with the three parishes of Chalgrave, Hockliffe, and Tilsworth joining the Eaton Bray Rural District and the remaining fourteen parishes joining the Ampthill Rural District.
