The Hurn Museum is a museum on Monterey Square in Savannah, Georgia, United States, devoted to American folk art, as well as the work of international self-taught artists. The museum is named after the late Deborah Hurn, a local champion of folk art in Savannah. The museum was opened in November 2004 by the Sottile family. The museum was viewed as controversial because it rejected the handicraft definition of folk art in favour of fine art. "Fine art separated the decorative arts years ago. We have to do the same with folk art" said co-founder Michael Sottile.

Jones Street is a historic street in Savannah, Georgia, United States. It is named for Major John Jones, an aide to brigadier general Lachlan McIntosh at the 1779 siege of Savannah during the American Revolutionary War.Jones street stretches just over 1 mile (1.6 km), from West Boundary Street in the west to East Broad Street in the east. It lies near the center of the Savannah Historic District. The street name changes at Bull Street, a north–south thoroughfare, becoming East Jones Street and West Jones Street, respectively, and they border two of Bull Street's southernmost squares. Jones Street has been described as one of the most charming streets in America. The William Remshart Row House is a historic building in Savannah, Georgia, United States. It comprises the four properties between 102 and 111 West Jones Street, and was completed in 1853. It is a contributing property of the Savannah Historic District, itself on the National Register of Historic Places.In the mid-19th century, the property was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey as being significant for its representation of mid-19th-century Savannah row houses, particularly due to its high stoops. Other similar-style row houses exist in Savannah's Gordon Row, the Jones Street Quantock Row, the Chatham Square Quantock Row, Scudder's Row, McDonough Row and Marshall Row. It was built for William Remshart (1804–1878), a prominent Savannah commission merchant.

2 East Taylor Street (also known as the Comer House) is a historic building in Savannah, Georgia, United States. It is located in the northwestern tything block of Monterey Square and was built in 1880. It is part of the Savannah Historic District. It was formerly the home of Hugh Moss Comer (1842–1900), president of the Central of Georgia Railway. Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederacy, was a guest at the house in 1886 with his daughter Varina Anne Davis. The exterior of the house appears in the Clint Eastwood-directed 1997 movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. John Cusack's character, John Kelso, is welcomed to town by the home's owner from one of its verandas. The gate in the fenced wall that Kelso walks through has since been removed.

Monterey Square is one of the 22 squares of Savannah, Georgia, United States. It is located in the southernmost row of the city's five rows of squares, on Bull Street and Wayne Street, and was laid out in 1847. It is south of Madison Square, west of Calhoun Square, north of Forsyth Park and east of Chatham Square. The oldest building on the square is the Herman Kuhlman Duplex, at 22–24 West Taylor Street, which dates to 1851. Monterey Square commemorates the Battle of Monterrey (1846), in which American forces under General Zachary Taylor captured the city of Monterrey during the Mexican–American War. (The correct spelling in reference to the square is "Monterey", with a single r.) In the center of the square is an 1853 monument honoring General Casimir Pulaski. Monterey Square is the site of Mercer House, built by Hugh Mercer and more recently the home of antiques dealer and conservator Jim Williams. The house (which fills an entire block), and the square itself, were featured prominently in John Berendt's 1994 true crime novel Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The square has been used as a setting for several motion pictures, including the 1997 film version of Berendt's novel. The Comer House, in the northeastern residential/tything block, is also featured in the movie. The square is home to Congregation Mickve Israel, which boasts one of the few Gothic-style synagogues in America, dating from 1878. All but one of the buildings surrounding the square are original to the square, the exception being the United Way Building at 428 Bull Street.

The Savannah College of Art and Design Bees (or SCAD Savannah Bees or Savannah College of Art and Design Savannah Bees) are the athletic teams that represent the Savannah campus of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Savannah), located in Savannah, Georgia, in intercollegiate sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Sun Conference (formerly known as the Florida Sun Conference (FSC) until after the 2007–08 school year) since the 2004–05 academic year; The Bees previously competed as an NAIA Independent during the 2003–04 school year (which they were a member on a previous stint from 1987–88 (when the school began intercollegiate athletics) to 1991–92); as well as a member of the Division III ranks of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) as an NCAA D-III Independent from 1992–93 to 2002–03. As a college of Art and Design, the school offers a sports lineup unlike most colleges. Its Savannah location is one of the few colleges in the United States to offer a competitive equestrian program. SCAD Savannah previously sponsored basketball, but dropped the sport after the 2008–09 season.

The Jesse Mount House, also known as the Champion–McAlpin House, is a home in Savannah, Georgia, United States. It is located at 122–124 West Jones Street and was constructed in 1852.Built for Jesse Mount, a wing was added in 1857. It was owned by a Mrs. Maria McAlpin from 1859 to 1888. Maria's father, Aaron Champion, lived at the Harper Fowlkes House, at 230 Barnard Street, from 1843. Improvements totaling $9,000 were made in 1861.The building is part of the Savannah Historic District.
