Bristol Airport

Lulsgate Aerodrome was a motor racing circuit at the former RAF Lulsgate Bottom airfield, which in 1957 subsequently became Bristol Airport. The airfield was turned into a racing circuit in 1949. Lulsgate hosted two race meetings, in 1949 and 1950. The circuit mainly hosted sports car events, however a Formula III race featured in both 1949 and 1950.

Lulsgate Plateau is the name given to the Carboniferous Limestone hills which form a northern outlier of the Mendip Hills, southwest of Bristol, England, approximately 600 feet (180 m) above sea level, which has been occupied since prehistoric times. The major feature on the plateau is Bristol International Airport. Cutting into the western edge of the plateau are two combes, Brockley Combe and Goblin Combe a 52 hectares (128 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). There are two major roads in the area — the A38 cuts across the top of the plateau, while the A370 runs along its western edge. Both run in a southwesterly direction, and join Bristol to towns and villages in Somerset. To the west of the plateau are the North Somerset Levels, and to the south is the Yeo valley.

Redhill is a compact village at the foot of a 173 m (AOD) hill of the same name to its east and north-east. Its lower level local authority is the civil parish of Wrington which is in North Somerset, England. It straddles the A38 Bridgwater-Bristol Road. It is about 8 miles (12.9 km) SSW of Bristol and close to Bristol Airport.

Lulsgate Quarry (grid reference ST516659) is a 2¾ acre (1.13 hectare) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the village of Felton, North Somerset, notified in 1997. The site has an excellent exposure of an irregular unconformity surface lying between inclined Lower Carboniferous (Dinantian) Black Rock limestones and flat-bedded Upper Triassic (Rhaetian) strata.

Stancombe Quarry is a quarry at Flax Bourton near Backwell in the North Somerset district of Somerset, England. The quarry which is operated by Tarmac produces Carboniferous Limestone, which is mainly for use on the roads, after crushing on site. The site has an expected output of 28 million tonnes over a 25-year period.In 1999 the car park at the quarry was used as a test site for a porous asphalt pavement.In June 2010, an explosion involving a lorry injured two people in Stancombe Quarry. The A370 road was closed but opened the following day.

St Andrew's Church is an Anglican church in Backwell, Somerset, England. The church building dates back to the 13thcentury, when the nave, aisles and the chancel were built. The church was subsequently altered and enlarged during the 14th to 17th centuries; the 31m-high west tower dates from the 15th century, and the rood screen is from the early 16th century. The church has been a Grade I listed building since 1961.The Parish of St Andrew is part of the benefice of Backwell with Chelvey and Brockley within the deanery of Portishead.A new building attached to the church containing social and office space was added in 1984. There are plans to install solar panels on the roof of the church.

Taps Combe Camp (also known as Chelvey Batch Settlement) is an Iron Age hill fort in North Somerset, England. The hill fort is situated approximately 1.8 miles (2.9 km) east from the village of Brockley. The hill fort is shaped like a "D", and is approximately 50 metres (160 ft) by 50 metres (160 ft) wide.

Woodspring was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1983 until 2010. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. From 1992 until 2010, it was represented by Liam Fox, former Secretary of State for Defence. Fox went on to represent the new North Somerset constituency from 2010.

Barrow Court is a manor house in Barrow Gurney, Somerset, England. The site was originally Barrow Gurney Nunnery and was rebuilt in the 16th and 19th centuries. It has been designated as a Grade II* listed building.

The Church of St Mary and St Edward is an Anglican parish church in Barrow Gurney, Somerset, England. It was built in the 12th century, but largely rebuilt in the 1880s, and has been designated as a Grade II* listed building.The church was originally connected to the neighbouring Barrow Gurney Nunnery which became Barrow Court. It was originally built in the 12th century but was virtually rebuilt by Henry Woodyer 1887–90 for Henry Martin Gibbs son of William Gibbs of Tyntesfield. It has a three-stage west tower surmounted by pinnacles and a spirelet. There is a two bay chancel, with a Cosmati work floor and four bay nave. In 2013 an appeal was made for funds to help make repairs to the church including redecoration and servicing of the organ, which was largely unchanged since its construction by Vowles of Bristol around 1890.The parish is part of the benefice of Long Ashton with Barrow Gurney and Flax Bourton within the deanery of Portishead, and the archdeaconry of Bath.

The Anglican Church of St Michael and All Angels at Butcombe in the English county of Somerset was built in the 15th century and restored in 1868. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Backwell House, in Backwell, Somerset, England is a house of historical significance and is listed on the English Heritage Register. The house and entrance gates are also Grade II listed buildings. It was built in about 1813 by a prominent lawyer and was the residence of several notable people until about 1860. From then it became the home of the Robinson family who were famous cricketers remembered by people such as W. G. Grace. It was operated as a boutique hotel from 2016 to 2022.
