Kipling Bus Terminal

Kipling GO Station is a GO Transit railway station along the Milton line rail corridor in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. It is located at 27 St. Albans Road in the Islington-City Centre West neighbourhood of Toronto (formerly Etobicoke), near Dundas Street. It is connected to the Toronto subway's Kipling station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth, along with other Toronto Transit Commission and MiWay (Mississauga's municipal bus service) and GO Transit bus services. A pair of tracks serve the station, with a single island platform between them, but GO trains generally use the south tracks. This station is on a Canadian Pacific Railway rail corridor. This station has two entrances; the original station building at the east end of the platform containing a ticket sales agent, which is linked to the TTC station by stairs; and as of 2021, the Kipling Transit hub on the west end, with a pedestrian bridge and bus terminal for both GO and MiWay buses. It is one of four GO stations connected directly to a TTC subway station (others being Downsview Park, Kennedy and Union). The station has no parking facilities of its own (the nearby car park is operated by the TTC). Kipling has been wheelchair-accessible since 2005, and both entrances have elevators. It has a platform long enough for a full-length GO train of twelve Bombardier BiLevel carriages and a locomotive.

Kipling is the western terminus station of Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway system. The station is served by buses and subway trains operated by the Toronto Transit Commission and is adjacent to the Kipling GO Station on the Milton line of GO Transit and the Kipling Bus Terminal, where passengers can connect with MiWay (Mississauga Transit) and GO Transit bus services. It is located in the Islington–City Centre West neighbourhood on St. Albans Road at Aukland Road, west of the overpass of Kipling Avenue, after which the station is named. The 900 Airport Express bus route connects Kipling to the Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The 2003 Etobicoke gas explosion was a disaster which occurred on April 24, 2003, after a backhoe operated by Enbridge contractor Precision Utility breached a pipeline on Bloor Street in the Etobicoke district of Toronto, Ontario. The resulting explosion destroyed a two-story mixed commercial and residential building, killing seven people and injuring another four. Enbridge and several other companies were fined for the disaster in 2011. A memorial garden was dedicated at the site of the explosion in 2008.

Islington-City Centre West (also known as Islington Village, Six Points or Etobicoke City Centre) is a commercial and residential neighbourhood in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. One of four central business districts outside Downtown Toronto, it is bounded by Rathburn Road to the north, Islington Avenue to the east, Bloor Street to the south, Mimico Creek to the west.

Eatonville is a neighbourhood in the Toronto, Ontario district of Etobicoke, west of the central core. Eatonville is bisected by Highway 427, with the community generally located north of Dundas Street West and south of Rathburn Road. Eatonville consists mainly of low density residential homes (constructed primarily in the 1950s east of Highway 427, and in the 1960s and 1970s west of Highway 427). The main arterial roads in the community, such as The West Mall, The East Mall and Burnhamthorpe Road, contain a mix of rental and condominium high-rise apartments and townhouses. Cloverdale Mall is in the neighbourhood, and there are community retail areas along Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West.

Honeydale Mall was a community shopping mall located in Eatonville (part of the former Borough of Etobicoke), Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the intersection of Dundas Street and The East Mall Crescent (the latter being a link connecting the grade-separated roads, The East Mall and Dundas Street). It opened in 1973 with a supermarket anchor, a Woolco department store, and a short enclosed mall. In 1994, Wal-Mart took over the Woolco location and remained in the mall until 2001. The mall declined after Walmart's departure, and was described as being on "death row". In February 2006, The Bay Furniture Outlet opened inside the mall, and just after that a flea market. But within the next 3-6 years, both stores were closed because of low traffic. After The Bay Furniture Outlet closed, a clearance warehouse would lease the vacant Wal-Mart space annually, but stopped after 2012. In May 2009, it had two anchor stores (a No Frills supermarket and a flea market), a restaurant and dental office. The mall's No Frills supermarket closed in June 2013, and the entire mall was shuttered and locked up later that year, ending its 40 years of operation. A portion of the parking lot beyond Paulart Drive and next to the old Walmart site is being used to store empty trailer units. Azuria Group, the owner of Honeydale, allowed the property to decline and it attempted to pursue high density residential redevelopment options which may include land for a new subway station. However, the application has stalled as the city of Toronto has required Azuria to do studies on the project.

Cinespace Film Studios is a series of film studio facilities founded in 1988, by Greek-Canadian Nick Mirkopoulos. It includes a facility in Vaughan, that has been in operation since the 1960s. In 2007 Mirkopoulos helped his Greek-American nephew Alex Pissios found a branch in Chicago, Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.

Islington JMS is a public elementary school in the historic Islington neighbourhood of Etobicoke, the western district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is part of the Toronto District School Board and is located close to the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Road and Dundas Street West. Founded in 1832, it is the oldest school in Etobicoke and the second oldest elementary school in Toronto.

Islington is a subway station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the north side of Bloor Street West on the west side of Islington Avenue. A central platform serves trains running in both directions.

Cloverdale Mall is a community shopping centre located in the Etobicoke area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at 250 The East Mall northeast of the intersection of Dundas Street West and Highway 427). It opened in 1956 as an open-air shopping plaza on what was part of the Eatonville farm.

Montgomery's Inn is a museum in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario. Built in 1830 as a Georgian-style inn, it was named for its innkeeper, Thomas Montgomery (1790-1877). The inn ceased operations in 1856 and continued as a private farm house that was rented to tenant farmers by the Montgomery family until 1946. It was later owned by a Presbyterian church, a developer, the Etobicoke Historical Society, and the Etobicoke Historical Board, until it was finally transferred to the City of Toronto. Once in danger of demolition, it is a cherished remnant of colonial times in Upper Canada. Though most of its current artifacts are not original to the building, they are period pieces, and a few belonged to the Montgomery family.

Etobicoke Collegiate Institute (ECI, Etobicoke CI), previously known as Etobicoke High School is a high school in Central Etobicoke in the Islington neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is overseen by the Toronto District School Board. The school was founded in 1928 and was part of the former Etobicoke Board of Education until 1998.
