Marston on Dove (historically Marston Upon Dove) is a village and civil parish in South Derbyshire, nine miles (14 km) south west of Derby and two miles (3.2 km) east of Tutbury. The Church of St Mary at Marston has the oldest bell in Derbyshire, which was cast in Leicester in 1366 and inscribed with the words "Hail Mary" by John de Stafford.

Hilton House Hotel, in Derby, England, is a building of historical significance. It is a Georgian house which was the ancestorial home of Herbert Martin Massey. He was the Senior British Officer at Stalag Luft III who authorised the "Great Escape". The hotel closed in February 2023.

Sutton-on-the-Hill is a parish in south Derbyshire eight miles (13 km) west of Derby. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 123. The village is widely spread out and contains both a church (which, unlike most of the village, is on the hill) and a chapel. It was described as "a parish, with two townships and a hamlet" in the 1870s. Now it has no shop or post office and limited public transport links. Sutton on the Hill is primarily an agricultural area with former dairy farms at either end of the village, along with the Sutton Estate Farm. The village school has been converted into a village hall and has a nursery school for the local villages.

Rolleston Hall was a country house in Rolleston-on-Dove, Staffordshire. Originally built in the early 17th century for Sir Edward Mosley, it had been substantially renovated after a fire in 1871. It was the seat of the Mosley family until the house was demolished in 1928.

St Mary's Church is a parish church of the Church of England in Rolleston on Dove, Staffordshire. Parts of the structure date to 1130, though it was extensively renovated in 1892. It is unusual in having the main entrance door on the north side, with the southern entrance reserved for members of the Mosley family, local landowners and key donors to the church. The church features stained glass windows dating to the medieval period and others by Victorian designer Charles Eamer Kempe. The tower houses eight bells, one dating to 1586. The church is grade I listed and there are associated grade II listings for churchyard railings, a memorial, the lychgate and a former church grammar school. The lychgate, by Lincolnshire architect Cecil Greenwood Hare, also functions as a war memorial.
