The Badhuistheater (Dutch: Bath house theatre) is a theater venue located in a former bath house on the east-side of Amsterdam.The theater is both a cultural meeting point for locals and a stage for international theatre productions. The theater is run by British actor and writer Michael Manicardi who acquired the neglected bath house around 1985 and transformed it into a theater. As a theater it seats between 50 and 150 audience, depending on the chosen configuration.

The Oosterparkbuurt is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The neighbourhood derives its name from the Oosterpark. Three of its main streets (the Eerste Oosterparkstraat, Tweede Oosterparkstraat and Derde Oosterparkstraat) were also named after the park. The neighbourhood was built late in the 19th century. Until World War II, it was home to many working-class Jews. During urban renewal operations of the 1970s and 1980s, many of the original 19th-century housing was demolished and replaced.

Two building complexes in Amsterdam, Netherlands, are identified by the name Dime Buildings (Dubbeltjespanden): Mauritskade no. 29 to no. 54, and some no longer extant buildings in the block Czaar Peter Straat/Blankenstraat. Both housing projects were realized in the late 19th century by the Bouwmaatschappij tot Verkrijging van Eigen Woningen BVEW (Construction Company for the Establishment of Privately Owned Homes), the first cooperative housing association in Amsterdam. The name 'Dime Buildings' has to do with the weekly dubbeltje ("dime") dues that members of the BVEW paid to the construction company. By paying the rent and the deposit of the dime, residents would become owners of their own home after twenty years. This was ultimately unsuccessful.

The Sarphatistraat is a street in the center of Amsterdam between Frederiksplein and Oostenburgergracht at the Cruquiuskade. The street crosses the Amstel and forms an almost 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) long connection between the southern part of the Grachtengordel and the Oostelijke Eilanden.

The Amstellyceum was a secondary school in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It got cancelled and the Metis Montesorri Lyceum is established there. The school was named after the river Amstel. It teaches, vmbo-tl, havo, and vwo (gymnasium and atheneum). In 2005, it had 480 students.

The Plantage Muidergracht is a canal and street in the Plantage neighborhood of Amsterdam. On and along the Plantage Muidergracht, near Roeterseiland, are some of the buildings of the University of Amsterdam, originally built for courses or subfaculties of physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science and mathematics, but now used by other faculties.

The Oosterpark (English: Eastern Park) is the first large park laid out by the municipality of Amsterdam. Located near the Singelgracht to the north, it is the principal component of the Oosterpark neighbourhood in the Oost borough. The park, an English garden, was designed by Dutch landscape architect Leonard Anthony Springer and completed in 1891.

De Schreeuw (The Scream) is a sculpture in the Oosterpark in Amsterdam that commemorates the assassinated Dutch film-maker Theo van Gogh. The monument was designed by Jeroen Henneman as a symbol of freedom of speech.

Artis Bibliotheek (English: Artis Library) is a nineteenth-century library located at Plantage Middenlaan 45 in Amsterdam. Since 2005, the Artis Bibliotheek has been part of the Special Collections at the University of Amsterdam.

Weesperzijde (Amsterdam) is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands, aligned along the east side of Amstelriver. It is a well-to-do residential area with a familial atmosphere, characterised by houses built during the last turn of centuries, some by famous Dutch architects like Dolf van Gendt and Abraham Salm.
