The Sarphatistraat is a street in the center of Amsterdam between Frederiksplein and Oostenburgergracht at the Cruquiuskade. The street crosses the Amstel and forms an almost 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) long connection between the southern part of the Grachtengordel and the Oostelijke Eilanden.

Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis (English: "Our Lady Hospital") is a major clinical hospital situated near Oosterpark in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Founded in 1898, it is now part of OLVG, a network of hospitals formed by the merger of the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis with the former Sint Lucas Andreas hospital, and is now known as OLVG, West Location.

The Plantage Muidergracht is a canal and street in the Plantage neighborhood of Amsterdam. On and along the Plantage Muidergracht, near Roeterseiland, are some of the buildings of the University of Amsterdam, originally built for courses or subfaculties of physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science and mathematics, but now used by other faculties.

Two building complexes in Amsterdam, Netherlands, are identified by the name Dime Buildings (Dubbeltjespanden): Mauritskade no. 29 to no. 54, and some no longer extant buildings in the block Czaar Peter Straat/Blankenstraat. Both housing projects were realized in the late 19th century by the Bouwmaatschappij tot Verkrijging van Eigen Woningen BVEW (Construction Company for the Establishment of Privately Owned Homes), the first cooperative housing association in Amsterdam. The name 'Dime Buildings' has to do with the weekly dubbeltje ("dime") dues that members of the BVEW paid to the construction company. By paying the rent and the deposit of the dime, residents would become owners of their own home after twenty years. This was ultimately unsuccessful.

The Oosterparkbuurt is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. The neighbourhood derives its name from the Oosterpark. Three of its main streets (the Eerste Oosterparkstraat, Tweede Oosterparkstraat and Derde Oosterparkstraat) were also named after the park. The neighbourhood was built late in the 19th century. Until World War II, it was home to many working-class Jews. During urban renewal operations of the 1970s and 1980s, many of the original 19th-century housing was demolished and replaced.

Weesperplein is an Amsterdam Metro station in the city centre of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located between the Nieuwe Achtergracht and Singel canals on the southeastern edge of the Amsterdam canal ring. Weesperplein is a major transfer hub for metro and tram routes. As it is located close to the newly developed Roeterseiland campus of the University of Amsterdam, the destination "Universiteit" (English: University) has been added to automated station announcements on the trains.

The Amstellyceum was a secondary school in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It got cancelled and the Metis Montesorri Lyceum is established there. The school was named after the river Amstel. It teaches, vmbo-tl, havo, and vwo (gymnasium and atheneum). In 2005, it had 480 students.

Artis Bibliotheek (English: Artis Library) is a nineteenth-century library located at Plantage Middenlaan 45 in Amsterdam. Since 2005, the Artis Bibliotheek has been part of the Special Collections at the University of Amsterdam.

The Nieuwe Prinsengracht is a canal in the Plantage neighborhood of Amsterdam, an extension of the Prinsengracht in the eastern Grachtengordel (canal belt).

The InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam Hotel, commonly referred to as the Amstel Hotel, is a hotel in Amsterdam, capital city of the Netherlands, on the east bank of the river Amstel. In 2007, it was the only hotel in the Netherlands on the list of World's Best Hotels, and was ranked in 90th place.The Amstel Hotel is part of the InterContinental Hotels chain. In 2006 the building was sold to Morgan Stanley. In 2011 the Lebanese businessman Toufic Aboukhater bought the hotel. In 2014 the hotel was acquired by Qatar-based Katara Hospitality, but is still operated by the InterContinental Hotels Group

Plantage is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands located in its Centrum borough. It is bordered by the Entrepotdok to the north, Plantage Muidergracht to the east and south and Nieuwe Herengracht to the west. In the centre of the neighbourhood lies the Natura Artis Magistra zoo. It had a population of 1,980 in 2017.
