East Hunsbury

Collingtree is a village and civil parish in the West Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England. It is part of the Northampton built-up area.

The Northamptonshire Record Office is the county record office for Northamptonshire. The archives are held at Wootton Hall Park, Wootton, Northampton, and run by Northamptonshire County Council.The site also houses the Northamptonshire Record Society.

Abbeyfield School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Northampton in the English county of Northamptonshire.It was previously known as Mereway Upper School which had an intake of 13- to 18-year-olds. Due to school reorganisation in Northamptonshire in 2004 the school expanded its intake to 11-year-olds to become a full secondary school, and it was renamed Mereway Community College. The school moved into a new building in 2008 and was renamed Abbeyfield School. In October 2012, the school was converted to academy status sponsored by the Creative Education Trust.Abbeyfield School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while sixth form students can choose to study from range of A Levels and further BTECs.

Far Cotton is a village and neighbourhood of Northampton and former civil parish, now in the parish of Far Cotton and Delapre, in the West Northamptonshire district of Northamptonshire, England.

Cotton End is a small district of the town of Northampton, England, about half a mile south of the town centre, north of the area known as Far Cotton and west of the road from South Bridge to Ransome Road known as Cotton End. The district population is included in the Delapre and Briar Hill Ward of Northampton Council.

Wootton is a former village about 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Northampton town centre that is now part of Northampton. Wootton is separated from Hardingstone by the Newport Pagnell Road the B526, formerly part of the A50 road. Part of Wootton is alongside the A45 dual carriageway from the M1 to Wellingborough which is seen and heard from that part of the area.

Northampton South is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2017 by Andrew Lewer, a Conservative.

Simpson Barracks (formerly Quebec Barracks) is a former military installation at Wootton in Northamptonshire, England.

The Northampton Carnival has had strong traditions in the town from the 1960s through the Midsummer Meadow times in the 1980s, to its short break in the late 1990s, until its revival in 2005.The current carnival spans two days from a Friday to Saturday in June and includes concerts, events, community stalls and a fair ground in Delapre Park, a carnival procession through the town centre, including the Abington Street pedestrianised area, which taplace on the Saturday, and a series of events featuring performers, dancers and workshops from community groups from Northampton and other towns that take place in the Market Square on the final day, Sunday.

Delapré Abbey is a neo-classical mansion in Northampton, in Northamptonshire, England. The mansion and outbuildings incorporate remains of a former monastery, the Abbey of St Mary de la Pré (the suffix meaning "in or of the Meadow"), near the River Nene 1 mile (1.6 km) south south-east of Northampton. It was founded as a nunnery about the year 1145 devoted to the congregation of the major Abbey of Cluny in Burgundy, France. The Abbey's expansive sloping grounds are a nationally protected Wars of the Roses battlefield, as a one-time site of the advance of the Yorkists during the Battle of Northampton (1460).

Hunsbury Hill Tunnel is a railway tunnel on the Northampton Loop Line of the West Coast Main Line. The tunnel runs in a straight line from the Briar Hill district of Northampton (north portal: 52°13′20″N 0°54′56″W), England about north by east to the East Hunsbury district south of the town (south portal: 52°12′47″N 0°55′10″W). The tunnel has a single bore with twin tracks and is 1,152 yards (1,053 m) long. It is about 1 mile south of Northampton railway station and the next station south is Wolverton in Milton Keynes. The tunnel opened together with the rest of the loop line in 1881.
