Nanterre-La Folie station

Nanterre-Préfecture is a RER train station in the commune of Nanterre, west of central Paris, in the department of Hauts-de-Seine in France. The station was opened on 1 October 1973, on the "ligne de St-Germain" connecting Auber and Saint-Germain. Currently, it is the westernmost station of the central section of RER A line. Line A splits here further to the west, into A1 (to Saint-Germain-en-Laye) and A3+A5 (to Cergy-le-Haut and Poissy).

On 27 June 2023, Nahel Merzouk (25 February 2006 - 27 June 2023), a French 17-year-old of Moroccan and Algerian descent, was shot at point-blank range and killed by Florian Menesplier, a police officer, in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris, France. Initial reporting on the incident, informed by police statements, was later contradicted by a video posted online, which led to widespread protests and riots. Symbols of the state such as town halls, schools, police stations, and other buildings were attacked. The Interior Ministry reported that more than 5,000 vehicles had been set on fire, along with 10,000 garbage cans; nearly 1,000 buildings had been burnt, damaged or looted; 250 police stations and gendarmeries had been attacked; and more than 700 police officers had been injured.The killing—condemned by President Emmanuel Macron as "inexplicable" and "inexcusable"—became part of a broader public debate regarding aggressive French law enforcement, racial profiling, immigration, and the stakes of naming the suburban violence a "riot" rather than a "revolt". On 28 June, the president of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, asked deputies "to respect a minute of silence in Nahel's memory".

Paris La Défense Arena (originally known as the U Arena) is a multi-use domed stadium in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris. Opened in October 2017, it was developed by the rugby union club Racing 92, and replaced Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir as their home field. It is one of the two multi-use domed stadiums to be built in Europe, along with Telenor Arena and is Europe’s largest indoor arena. Its naming rights are held by Paris La Défense, the management company of the nearby La Défense business district. The venue offers three separate configurations. In its rugby configuration, it has a nominal seating capacity of 30,681. For concerts, it is able to seat 40,000. Finally, a movable stand allows it to also be used for a variety of indoor sports, at various capacities, with a capacity of as low as 5,000 being possible. The venue also includes 33,000 square metres (360,000 sq ft) of office space, 300 student rooms, shops, including a club shop, a brewery and a gourmet restaurant. It is scheduled to host swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Due to IOC sponsorship regulations, the venue will be referred to as Arena 92.

L'archipel is an office skyscraper in Nanterre, in La Défense, the business district of the Paris metropolitan area.The building was completed in 2021, it has 24 floors at 106 m. It will host the global headquarters of the company Vinci SA.

Tour Granite is an office skyscraper in La Défense, the high-rise business district situated west of Paris, France. Tour Granite was opened in December 2008. The building is designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc. It is the fifth tallest building in la Défense, after Tour First, Tour Total, Tour Areva and Tour T1. Tour Granite was ordered by the Société Générale banking group. It was built as a complement to the Société Générale twin towers whose office space was insufficient for the needs of the group. Like the existing two towers, Tour Granite has a sharply inclined roof.

Société Générale Twin Towers are two office skyscrapers located in La Défense, a high-rise business district, and in Nanterre, France, west of Paris. Their exterior designs are identical. The towers were built and opened in 1995 to become the head office of the Société Générale, one of France's largest banking groups. Before the twin towers were constructed, Société Générale's headquarters were located in Paris.The roof and structural height of both towers is at 167 m (548 ft) above ground. The towers were the tallest skyscrapers built in La Défense since the Tour Total in 1985. The northern tower is named tour Alicante and the southern one tour Chassagne. In its interior design, Chassagne is decorated with white stone from the village of Chassagne in Auvergne, whereas Alicante is decorated with red marble from Alicante in Spain. Both towers share the same platform and stand about 40 m (130 ft) apart. The roofs of the towers are sharply inclined. Despite the large office space available in the current twin towers, Société Générale needed yet more space and so it launched the construction of a third skyscraper, the 183 m (600 ft) tall Tour Granite, which stands immediately behind the twin towers and was opened in 2008.

Tour Skylight is a residential skyscraper in Puteaux, in La Défense, the business district of the Paris metropolitan area. It does include shops and educational activities. Inaugurated on November 29, 2017 by Patrick Devedjian, the tower is 76.77 meters high.It notably hosts a campus of the IÉSEG School of Management.

Tour Pacific (previously known as Tour Arcelor or Japan Tower) is an office skyscraper in Puteaux, in La Défense, the business district of the Paris metropolitan area. The Tower, which originally bore the name of Japan Tower, is one of the achievements of Christian Pellerin, who entrusted the design to the Kurokawa-Inoue duo in 1986.In May 2013, the Quebec group Ivanhoe-Cambridge, the real estate branch of the Caisse des Dépôts du Quebec, and owner of the tower, sold it for 215 million euros to an American group.

The Tours Aillaud (also known as Tours Nuages) is a group of residential buildings located in Nanterre, in the inner suburbs of Paris, France. Built in 1976 at the outskirts of La Défense business district, the Tours Aillaud are named after their main architect, Emile Aillaud. The housing project represents 18 towers including 1,607 apartments all together. The tallest of those are the Tours 1 and 2 with 39 floors and a height of 105 meters. The Tours 3 to 10 have 20 floors and the Tours 11 to 18 have 13 floors. Despite the differences in height, the towers share the same shape, consisting of the superposition of several cylinders. Their cladding is made of frescos representing clouds in the sky (in French nuages), which is the origin of their nickname. The frescos in "pate de verre" were designed by Fabio Rieti, son-in-law of Emile Aillaud, while his daughter Laurence Rieti designed the large snake shaped sculpture that constitutes a large part of the playground area near the highest towers. Emile Aillaud noticeably looked after the outdoor area so that there would be one tree per apartment, and so that each apartment would have a designated tree (there were more than 1600 of them).

The Préfecture des Hauts-de-Seine is an administrative building located in Nanterre, in the inner suburbs of Paris, France. Designed specifically to host the administrative offices of the préfecture of the Hauts-de-Seine département, the building has a wide base below its 113 m (371 ft)-tall tower.

It is fully accredited to award the title of ingénieur by the French Commission of Engineering Titles. ESILV is part of the "Pôle universitaire Léonard-de-Vinci". The director of the school is Pascal Pinot.
