Highworth Town Football Club is a football club based in Highworth, Wiltshire, England. They are currently members of the Southern League Division One Central and play at the Elms Recreation Ground

Highworth is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Swindon, England, about 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Swindon town centre. The 2011 Census recorded a population of 8,151. The town is notable for its Queen Anne and Georgian buildings, dating from its pre-eminence in the 18th century. It also has a 13th-century church, St. Michael's.

Highworth Warneford School is a mixed academy status secondary school in the small town of Highworth, north of Swindon, Wiltshire, England for pupils aged 11 to 16. Since July 2011, the school has been an academy.

Hannington railway station is a former railway station near Hannington, in Wiltshire, England on the Highworth Branch Line from Swindon. The station was about a mile southeast of Hannington village, near the Blunsdon to Highworth road; the platform had a small wooden building and there was a small goods yard. Much of the traffic was agricultural, milk in particular.The line operated a passenger service from 9 May 1883 until 2 March 1953, and the branch closed to all traffic in 1962.Although the majority of the station has disappeared the front of the platform is still visible.

Highworth Rural District was a rural district in the county of Wiltshire, England. It lay to the north and east of the town and municipal borough of Swindon. Following the Local Government Act 1972, on 1 April 1974 the district was merged with the municipal borough of Swindon to form the Borough of Thamesdown.

Warneford Place, also known as Sevenhampton Place, is a Grade II listed country house in Sevenhampton, south of Highworth, in Wiltshire, England. The main house is modern but is listed because it incorporates some features from the original 18th century mansion. Warneford Place dates back to at least the 17th century, and was home to the Warneford family. That family, although often impoverished, had been established in the area since around the 12th century and owned much of its land. The house was often empty and neglected.In 1902, there was an auction of the Warneford Place Estate and its contents. It has been grade II listed (as Warnford Place) since 1979.It was home to Frederick Banbury, 1st Baron Banbury of Southam, who died there in 1936.In 1960, the James Bond author Ian Fleming bought the "demolished Warneford Place", and built a new house which he named Sevenhampton Place, incorporating some elements of the original building. He did not move in until the new house was completed in 1963 and spent little time there. He died in 1964, aged 56, and is buried in the Sevenhampton churchyard, along with his wife Ann and son Caspar. His widow Ann Fleming lived at Sevenhampton Place until she died there on 12 July 1981.In 1987, the house was bought by the businessman Paddy McNally for £7 million. In 2004, the house was robbed by The Johnson Gang, who stole items to the value of £750,000.

Sevenhampton is a small village in the borough of Swindon, in the ceremonial county of Wiltshire, England. It is about 1.4 miles (2.3 km) south of the town of Highworth and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of central Swindon. In 1212 the toponym was recorded as Suvenhantone, meaning "town of the dwellers at a place called 'seven wells' or the like". The parish church is surrounded by earthworks marking the site of a medieval settlement, possibly including an earlier church. The site is a scheduled ancient monument.The Church of England parish church of St James (also recorded as St Andrew) was built in 1846 by W. Pedley, in the Early English style. Its churchyard has the grave of Ian Fleming, the creator of the James Bond series of novels. Sevenhampton House, near the church, is from the 17th century.Warnford Place is a country house, southeast of the church, with grounds overlooking the River Cole. One wing of an 18th-century house survives, following remodelling by Lord Banbury in 1904. The house, then known as Sevenhampton Place, was owned by Ian Fleming and his wife Ann from 1960 until her death in 1981. Central Hall Cricket Club is based in the village.Maranatha Christian School, a private school, is near Sevenhampton.

Hannington Hall is a Grade II* listed country house in the village of Hannington, Wiltshire, England. The house was built in 1653 by the Freke family, who had bought the estate in 1605, and possibly incorporates parts of a previous parsonage. The east front is of two and a half storeys in five bays, made of rubble with ashlar dressings. An orangery was added in 1836 and a service wing in 1863. An inscription below the front parapet celebrates the brotherly love of Raufe and William Freke, the sons of Sir Thomas Freke, the original owner. The house has twenty rooms and stands in 340 acres of pasture and woodland.Associated buildings such as the stable block, a well house, an ice house, and the street wall and gate piers are all Grade II listed structures.The Hall passed down in the Freke family via Thomas Freke (1660–1721) MP, his Socinian writer brother William Freke, and the Hussey-Freke family. During the Second World War it was occupied by the female Auxiliary Units' Special Duties Section, known as the "Secret Sweeties", under the command of Senior Commander Beatrice Temple, which was to form part of the British resistance movement in the event of a German invasion. GWR Hall class locomotive No 5930 was named after the hall.

Hannington is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, two miles northwest of Highworth, and now part of the Borough of Swindon. The parish includes the hamlets of Hannington Wick (north of Hannington village) and Swanborough (south, on the border with Highworth parish). The nearest town is Swindon 5.5 miles (9.2 kilometres) and the County town of Wilshire, Trowbridge, is 29.5 miles (47.6 kilometres). The River Thames forms both the northern boundary of the parish and the county boundary with Gloucestershire. John Marius Wilson of the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales in 1870 described the village of Hannington as:A village and a parish in Highworth district, Wilts. The village stands 2 miles W by N of Highworth, 2 S of the river Thames at the boundary with Gloucester, and 7 NE of Swindon Junction r. station; is a pretty place, built in the form of the letter Y; and has a post office under Swindon.
