Sevenhampton, Wiltshire

Warneford Place, also known as Sevenhampton Place, is a Grade II listed country house in Sevenhampton, south of Highworth, in Wiltshire, England. The main house is modern but is listed because it incorporates some features from the original 18th century mansion. Warneford Place dates back to at least the 17th century, and was home to the Warneford family. That family, although often impoverished, had been established in the area since around the 12th century and owned much of its land. The house was often empty and neglected.In 1902, there was an auction of the Warneford Place Estate and its contents. It has been grade II listed (as Warnford Place) since 1979.It was home to Frederick Banbury, 1st Baron Banbury of Southam, who died there in 1936.In 1960, the James Bond author Ian Fleming bought the "demolished Warneford Place", and built a new house which he named Sevenhampton Place, incorporating some elements of the original building. He did not move in until the new house was completed in 1963 and spent little time there. He died in 1964, aged 56, and is buried in the Sevenhampton churchyard, along with his wife Ann and son Caspar. His widow Ann Fleming lived at Sevenhampton Place until she died there on 12 July 1981.In 1987, the house was bought by the businessman Paddy McNally for £7 million. In 2004, the house was robbed by The Johnson Gang, who stole items to the value of £750,000.

Highworth Rural District was a rural district in the county of Wiltshire, England. It lay to the north and east of the town and municipal borough of Swindon. Following the Local Government Act 1972, on 1 April 1974 the district was merged with the municipal borough of Swindon to form the Borough of Thamesdown.

Hannington railway station is a former railway station near Hannington, in Wiltshire, England on the Highworth Branch Line from Swindon. The station was about a mile southeast of Hannington village, near the Blunsdon to Highworth road; the platform had a small wooden building and there was a small goods yard. Much of the traffic was agricultural, milk in particular.The line operated a passenger service from 9 May 1883 until 2 March 1953, and the branch closed to all traffic in 1962.Although the majority of the station has disappeared the front of the platform is still visible.

Westmill Woodland Burial Ground is a green burial ground in the Vale of White Horse on the border of Oxfordshire with Wiltshire in southern England. In the distance, the Uffington White Horse, an Iron Age horse carved into the white chalk on the Berkshire Downs, can be seen to the south-east. The burial ground is in Watchfield parish, north-west of Watchfield village and north of Shrivenham. Close to the site are Westmill Wind Farm and Westmill Solar Park, two renewable energy resources. The business was founded and is managed by Liz Rothchild, who is also Director of Kicking the Bucket, a festival about living and dying. The community interest company Westmill Woodland Burial Ground C.I.C. runs the ground.The site is intended for natural burials and is in a rural setting. It won the 2015 Cemetery of the Year award in the 2015 Good Funeral Awards.
