James Meadows Tract, also known as Rancho Palo Escrito, was a 4,592 acres (1,858 ha) Mexican land grant in present-day Monterey County, California given on January 27, 1840, by Governor Juan Alvarado to Carmel Mission civil administrator, José Antonio Romero. The land was later sold by Monterey businessman Thomas O. Larkin to English-born James Meadows (1817–1902) in 1848. The grant extended along the Carmel River and Carmel Valley, bounded by Rancho Cañada de la Segunda to the west, Rancho Los Laureles to the east, and Garland Ranch Regional Park to the south. Meadows received the legal land patent on August 9, 1866, that became known as the Meadows Tract for 4,591.71 acres (1,858.20 ha).

All Saints Day School is a private coeducational school for preschool through grade 8, located on 17 acres in Carmel, California. It was originally named after the first Episcopal bishop of California, William Ingraham Kip; the Bishop Kip School changed its name to All Saints' Episcopal Day School shortly after its founding in Pacific Grove, California in 1961. The first headmaster was Reverend Peter Farmer, also known as Father Farmer, who remained in that position for sixteen years. On its first day of classes the school had five students in kindergarten, eight in first grade, and four members of faculty and staff, including Father Farmer. As of August 2017, according to the school website, the campus consists of 17 acres, with 175 students in K-8th grade, and has 30 faculty members.On January 30, 2019, All Saints Day School announced that former Super Bowl winning linebacker and Captain of the New Orleans Saints Defensive Unit, Scott Fujita will be the new Head of School, commencing July 1, 2019. Fujita holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration, and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.

"Rancho Los Laureles" (also called "Rincon de los Laureles") was a 718-acre (2.91 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Monterey County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to José Agricio, an Ohlone Indian. The grant extended along the north side of the Carmel River and the Carmel Valley, was bounded to the east by the Boronda Rancho Los Laureles.

KCDU is a commercial radio station in Carmel, California, broadcasting to the Santa Cruz-Monterey-Salinas, California, area on 101.7 FM. Its studios are in Monterey while its transmitter is located east of the city. KCDU airs a Top 40 (CHR) music format branded as "The Beach". It has been owned by Stephens Media Group since October 2019.

KTOM-FM (92.7 MHz, K-TOM) is a commercial radio station in Marina, California, broadcasting to the Santa Cruz-Monterey-Salinas, California, area on 92.7 FM. Its studios are in Salinas, and the transmitter is just east of Monterey. KTOM-FM airs a country format branded as "K-Tom." KTOM used to be on 100.7 and a translator on 100.9. It moved to 92.7 when Clear Channel started to do Spanish formats.

KOCN (105.1 FM) is a rhythmic AC radio station licensed to Salinas, California. It has been owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. (formerly Clear Channel Media and Entertainment) since 1997. Its studios are in Salinas, and the transmitter is just east of Monterey. The station was first licensed April 28, 1978. KOCN was purchased in 1986 by Roger and Cheryl Pasquier for $1 million dollars. It had no ratings and The amount paid for the station was considered stick value. The Pasquiers then change the format to an adult contemporary music station and rose to #4 in the Arbitron rankings for adults #2 in women. In August 1995 K-Ocean 105 moved from 104.9 MHz to 105.1 MHz And changed its format to oldies. The ratings went from number #4 to #1 in the market. In 1997 the station was sold to Clear Channel Communications for approximately $7 million dollars cash including cash and accounts receivables. Its current format is described in its slogan as "The Central Coast's Greatest Throwbacks".

KKHK (95.5 FM, "Bob FM") is a commercial radio station in Carmel, California, broadcasting to the Santa Cruz-Monterey-Salinas, California area. Owned by Stephens Media Group, through licensee SMG-Monterey, LLC, it broadcasts an alternative rock format. Its studios are in Monterey while its transmitter is located east of the city.

KARW (97.9 FM) is a non-commercial radio station in Salinas, California, broadcasting to the Santa Cruz-Monterey-Salinas, California, area. KARW is owned by Prunedale Educational Foundation for Central California, Inc., and airs Educational Media Foundation's Air1 Christian Worship format.

Tehàma Golf Club ( tə-HAY-mə) is a private golf club outside of Carmel Valley, California owned by Clint Eastwood and is part of the Tehàma private community. Designed by golf architect Jay Morrish, ASGCA and opened in 1999, the private course features 6,506 yards that overlook the Pacific, and it is surrounded by privately owned homesites. Membership is by invitation only.The Spanish style clubhouse features a bar, restaurant, ballroom, and four suites, with interior design by American art director Henry Bumstead.

Rancho San Francisquito was a 8,813-acre (35.66 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Monterey County, California given in 1835 by Governor José Castro to Catalina Manzanelli de Munrás. The grant was located in the upper Carmel Valley. As of current day, it is part of The Santa Lucia Preserve, a gated community and nature preserve.

Garland Ranch Regional Park is a 3,464 acres (1,402 ha) public recreational area at 700 West Carmel Valley Road, in Carmel Valley, California. It is owned and managed by the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District. It is located 18 miles (29 km) from Salinas on the south side of Carmel Valley Road on a .5 miles (0.80 km) stretch of the Carmel River It was the district's first land acquisition and was purchased in 1975 from William Garland II.
