Wheeler is a city in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The population was 414 at the 2010 census. It is named after Coleman Wheeler, who opened a sawmill in the town and had a lumber business; Coleman is a great-grandfather of Ted Wheeler, who as of 2023 is mayor of Portland, Oregon.

Mohler is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It is east of U.S. Route 101 on Oregon Route 53 along the Nehalem River.It was named after A. L. Mohler, who was once president of the Union Pacific Railroad. The first post office in the area was established in 1897 and named "Balm". It was along Foley Creek about two miles southeast of present-day Mohler. In 1911 the name was changed to Mohler at the request of E. E. Lytle, who built the Pacific Railway and Navigation Company line into that part of the county. The post office was moved to the present locale of Mohler at the same time as the name change and operated there until 1959.

Brighton is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It is about 3 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of Wheeler on U.S. Route 101 next to Nehalem Bay, across the bay from Nehalem Bay State Park.A town was platted at this locale in 1910 and named Brighton Beach, although it is not directly on the Pacific Ocean. It was named for the seaside resort of Brighton, England, and it was hoped the place would become a popular vacation spot. Brighton post office was established in 1912 and closed in 1957. Brighton Beach was also the name of the Southern Pacific Railroad station on the Tillamook Branch. Today the line is owned by the Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad (POTB). The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, a non-profit museum group, operates a heritage railroad in conjunction with the POTB that runs dinner trains from Garibaldi to Wheeler that pass through Brighton.In the early 20th century, Brighton was the home of the Brighton Mills Company, which ran a sawmill and planing mill. The company was founded in 1911 by the Watt brothers of Bay City. The mill closed in 1926, however, during World War I, it was credited with producing more spruce lumber for aircraft than any other mill in the country.

Foss is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It is about 4 miles (6 km) east of Mohler and Oregon Route 53, near the Nehalem River. Foss is the site of an important river flood gauge. Foss was named for Herbert Foss, who owned timber in the area. Foss post office ran from 1928 to 1943, and Foss station on the Southern Pacific Railroad (now the Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad) was established shortly after the post office. Camp Nehalem (also known as Camp Foss), a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp northeast of Foss, had a Foss mailing address.

The Nehalem River is a river on the Pacific coast of northwest Oregon in the United States, approximately 119 miles (192 km) long. It drains part of the Northern Oregon Coast Range northwest of Portland, originating on the east side of the mountains and flowing in a loop around the north end of the range near the mouth of the Columbia River. Its watershed of 855 square miles (2,210 km2) includes an important timber-producing region of Oregon that was the site of the Tillamook Burn. In its upper reaches it flows through a long narrow valley of small mountain communities but is unpopulated along most of its lower reaches inland from the coast. It rises in the northeast corner of Tillamook County, in the Tillamook State Forest. It initially flows northeast, across the northwest corner of Washington County and into western Columbia County, past Vernonia where it receives Rock Creek, it hooks to the northwest and west into Clatsop County, then flows southwest back into northern Tillamook County. It enters Nehalem Bay on the Pacific in an estuary at Nehalem, about 70 miles (110 km) west-northwest of Portland. Near its mouth on the Pacific, the river passes under U.S. Route 101. It receives the Salmonberry River from the east in northern Tillamook County. It also receives the North Fork Nehalem River 25 miles (40 km) from the north about 2 miles (3.2 km) northwest of Nehalem, just before entering Nehalem Bay. In 2007, a major storm caused the Salmonberry Bridge (located at 45.7499°N 123.6528°W / 45.7499; -123.6528 (Salmonberry Bridge)) to collapse. The bridge was rebuilt and opened to traffic on May 14, 2012.Nehalem is also used as the codename for Intel's first-generation line of Core processors.

Nehalem Bay is a bay formed by the confluence of the Nehalem River with the Pacific Ocean in northern Oregon, United States. The city of Nehalem (pop. 271 in 2010) is situated on US Highway 101 north of Garibaldi and south of Cannon Beach.West of the bay, Nehalem Bay State Park is located on the sandspit separating the bay from the ocean, where elk, coyotes, and several species of birds live. The park has a long beach, where centuries-old Spanish shipwrecks can be found. The park has campsites open all year and yurts, as well.

Neah-Kah-Nie High School is a public high school located in Rockaway Beach, Oregon, United States. It is part of the Neah-Kah-Nie School District. Neahkahnie Mountain is only 12 miles north of the school. In 2017 construction on a new track and concession stand was completed.

Manhattan Beach State Recreation Site is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon. Administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, the park is open to the public and is fee-free. Amenities at the park, which is 2 miles (3 km) north of Rockaway Beach along U.S. Route 101, include picnicking, fishing, and a Pacific Ocean beach.The entrance road from the highway leads across tracks of the Southern Pacific Railroad to a site with coastal vegetation, picnic tables, and restrooms. Although the park occupies only 41 acres (17 ha), its beach forms part of a 7-mile (11 km) stretch of public beaches between Tillamook Bay on the south and Nehalem Bay on the north. Sea stacks called the Twin Rocks can be seen offshore to the south near the community of Twin Rocks. The Oregon Coast Trail passes through the park.Oregon Geographic Names (OGN) says that the name Manhattan Beach "strongly savors of real-estate activity". The Pacific Railway & Navigation Company, which opened a rail line through a nearby summer resort in 1912, named its train station "Manhattan Beach". The unincorporated community of Manhattan Beach had a post office between 1914 and 1975. In 1926, the postmaster wrote that promoters chose the name because Manhattan Beach, Oregon, was a watering place. OGN says the name might be "particularly inappropriate" considering that a native American word for Manhattan Island in New York probably meant "place of drunkenness" and that "no one gets drunk in Oregon, certainly not in watering places. No indeed."

Nehalem Bay State Airport (FAA LID: 3S7) is a public airport located two miles (3.2 km) southeast of Manzanita in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The airport is located within the boundaries of Nehalem Bay State Park. It offers several campsites for fly-in camping, a few meters away from the tiedown area. About a ten-minute walk to the north is the town of Manzanita, offering dining and lodging.

Bayside Gardens is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It lies along Route 101 between Manzanita and Nehalem and borders Nehalem Bay. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Bayside Gardens as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. The population of the CDP was 880 at the 2010 census.
