Manzanita is a coastal city in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It is located on U.S. Route 101 about 25 miles (40 km) equidistant from Seaside to the north and Tillamook to the south. The population was 603 at the 2020 census.

The airport is located within the boundaries of Nehalem Bay State Park. It offers several campsites for fly-in camping, a few meters away from the tiedown area. About a ten-minute walk to the north is the town of Manzanita, offering dining and lodging.

The park has a long beach, where centuries-old Spanish shipwrecks can be found. The park has campsites open all year and yurts, as well.

Nehalem Bay State Park is a state park in the United States located on the Oregon Coast, near the communities of Nehalem and Manzanita on the Nehalem Spit, a sand spit west of Nehalem Bay.Tillamook County transferred the land to the State of Oregon for a park in the 1930s. During the 1940s and 1950s, workers planted European beach grass, shore pine, and Scotch broom to stabilize the dunes—a process that took an additional twenty years. The park opened in 1972.This park has a day-use areas, and a campground for tents, recreational vehicles, horse riders, hikers and bicyclists. Its wildlife includes a variety of birds, deer, elk, mountain lions, black bears and coyotes. There is an air strip for small planes, the Nehalem Bay State Airport, and an amphitheater that has interpretative programs throughout the summer months. The park is south of nearby Neahkahnie Mountain the highest coastal land mass north of San Francisco and south of Canada. The trail to the summit of the mountain was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). in the 1930s. Nehalem Beach is within the park.

Neahkahnie Beach (or Neahkahnie) is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It is located west of U.S. Route 101, comprising approximately 370 residences north of the city of Manzanita, at the foot of Neahkahnie Mountain. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Neahkahnie as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. According to the 2020 Census, the population was 197.

The Harry F. Wentz Studio, also known as the Harry F. Wentz Studio-Bungalow and Studio Neah-Kah-Nie, is a historic house located in the Neahkahnie community near Manzanita, Oregon, United States. Designed by artist Harry F. Wentz and architect A. E. Doyle and built circa 1916, this bungalow came to be regarded as a prototype of the Northwest Regional style of architecture. Some of the characteristic features of the house include: colors and materials associated with the Northwest, especially timber; low massing with simple wall surfaces; porches with slender wooden supports; and siting to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. The style was later more fully developed by John Yeon and Doyle's colleague Pietro Belluschi.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Wheeler is a city in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. The population was 414 at the 2010 census. It is named after Coleman Wheeler, who opened a sawmill in the town and had a lumber business; Coleman is a great-grandfather of Ted Wheeler, who as of 2023 is mayor of Portland, Oregon.

Brighton is an unincorporated community in Tillamook County, Oregon, United States. It is about 3 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of Wheeler on U.S. Route 101 next to Nehalem Bay, across the bay from Nehalem Bay State Park.A town was platted at this locale in 1910 and named Brighton Beach, although it is not directly on the Pacific Ocean. It was named for the seaside resort of Brighton, England, and it was hoped the place would become a popular vacation spot. Brighton post office was established in 1912 and closed in 1957. Brighton Beach was also the name of the Southern Pacific Railroad station on the Tillamook Branch. Today the line is owned by the Port of Tillamook Bay Railroad (POTB). The Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, a non-profit museum group, operates a heritage railroad in conjunction with the POTB that runs dinner trains from Garibaldi to Wheeler that pass through Brighton.In the early 20th century, Brighton was the home of the Brighton Mills Company, which ran a sawmill and planing mill. The company was founded in 1911 by the Watt brothers of Bay City. The mill closed in 1926, however, during World War I, it was credited with producing more spruce lumber for aircraft than any other mill in the country.
