Ghiffa

The Sacred Mountain of Ghiffa is a Roman Catholic devotional complex in the comune of Ghiffa, Piedmont, northern Italy, overlooking the Lake Maggiore. It is one of the nine Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, included in UNESCO World Heritage list. It is a stop-over on the CoEur devotional path.

Bee (in Piemontese Bé) is a commune of 623 inhabitants in the Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Italian region Piedmont. It is situated above the western shore of Lago Maggiore and is about 120 kilometres (75 mi) northeast of Turin and about 5 kilometres (3 mi) northeast of Verbania. The commune extends over an area of about 3.3 square kilometres (1.3 sq mi) and includes two small frazione: Pian Nava lies above the principal settlement, while Albagnano is on the opposite side of the valley. There is also the residential village of Montelago. Bee borders the following municipalities: Arizzano, Ghiffa, Premeno, Vignone.

Laveno-Mombello Lago is a railway station in Italy. It is the end of the Saronno–Laveno railway.It serves the town of Laveno-Mombello, and is joined by a junction track to the Laveno-Mombello railway station, managed by Ferrovie dello Stato.

The Boesio is a river (intermittent stream) in Valcuvia, a valley in the north of the province of Varese, Lombardy, Italy. It rises near Cuveglio and flowing in an east–west direction before entering Lake Maggiore at Laveno-Mombello. The river's course takes it through the communes of Cuveglio, Cuvio, Casalzuigno, Azzio, Brenta, Gemonio, Cittiglio and Laveno-Mombello. The state road SS 394 follows in part the course of the river. Fish found in the river include Salmonidae and Cyprinidae, in particular brown trout and vairone (Leuciscus souffia). The waters of the river are polluted.

Caldè railway station (Italian: Stazione di Caldè) is a railway station in the comune of Castelveccana, in the Italian region of Lombardy. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Luino–Milan and Luino–Oleggio lines of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana.

Sasso del Ferro is a mountain of Lombardy, Italy. It has an elevation of 1,062 metres above sea level. At its base sits the town of Laveno-Mombello, from which the mountain is served by a funicular cable ride to the top. The top of the mountain has a hotel and restaurant popular with tourists, along with a launch board for hang gliders to descend the mountain.

The San Bernardino is a torrent which flows through the Italian Province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola and into Lake Maggiore at Verbania on the Piedmontese (western) shore of the lake. The origins of its name lie with the Franciscan convent of San Bernardino which was established in 1483 near the mouth of the river, between Intra and Pallanza. The buildings are no longer extant.

Laveno-Mombello railway station (Italian: Stazione di Laveno-Mombello) is a railway station in Italy. It is junction of the lines Luino–Milan and Luino–Oleggio. It serves the town of Laveno-Mombello, and is joined by a junction track to the Laveno-Mombello Lago railway station, managed by Ferrovienord. No trains operate between the two stations, which are located less than 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) apart.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,991 and an area of 25.9 square kilometres (10.0 sq mi). It sits at the foot of Sasso del Ferro.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 170 and an area of 7.3 square kilometres (2.8 sq mi).The municipality of Caprezzo contains the frazione (subdivision) Ponte Nivia. Caprezzo borders the following municipalities: Cambiasca, Intragna, Miazzina, Vignone. It is the birthplace of Baldassare Verazzi.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 119 and an area of 9.9 square kilometres (3.8 sq mi).Intragna borders the following municipalities: Aurano, Caprezzo, Miazzina, Premeno, Vignone.
