Dohány utca

Rákóczi út (Rákóczi Avenue) is one of the busiest arterial roads in Budapest, Hungary. It runs in an east-west direction through the city.

Blaha Lujza tér is a station of the M2 (East-West) line of the Budapest Metro. It is a major transport junction. The station was opened on 2 April 1970 as part of the inaugural section of Line M2, between Deák Ferenc tér and Örs vezér tere.The square is named after Lujza Blaha, an actress (1850–1926). The Hungarian National Theater was located on the square until 1964 when it was demolished (by explosion) because of the subway construction. The 111-year-old New York Café is located at walking distance from it. It was renovated and re-opened in 2006 May by the Italian hotel chain Boscolo Hotels Inc. [1]

Nagykörút or Grand Boulevard (sometimes Great Boulevard) is one of the most central and busiest parts of Budapest, a major thoroughfare built by 1896, Hungary's Millennium. It forms a semicircle connecting two bridges of the Danube, Margaret Bridge on the north and Petőfi Bridge on the south. Usually the part inside and around this semicircle is counted as the city centre of Budapest (see Belváros).

Akácfa utca (Acacia Road) is located in Erzsébetváros in Budapest, Hungary, between Rákóczi út and Király utca. It is named after the Robinia pseudoacacia that dominated the area in the 18th century. This road was initially called Akatziengasse. From 1838, the segment of the road between Dohány utca and Dob utca was still called Akatziengasse (Akácfa utca), but between Dob utcától and Király utca it was known as the Kleine Akatziengasse (Little Acacia Road). These were unified in 1874 and it has been called Akácfa utca since then.The headquarters of BKV are situated on this street.

Erzsébetváros (German: Elisabethstadt, both names meaning Elizabethtown) is the 7th district of Budapest, situated on the Pest side of the Danube. The inner half of the district was the historic Jewish quarter of Pest. The Dohány Street Synagogue, the largest functioning synagogue in Europe, is located in this district. Currently it is the most densely populated district of Budapest with 29,681.3 person per km2. In 1910 Erzsébetváros had 152,454 inhabitants. During the socialist era Erzsébetváros's population decreased rapidly, because young people and families moved to the newer "panelized" boom districts (Újpest, Újbuda, Óbuda, Kispest etc.). Gentrification and recovery started in the middle of the 2000s.

The Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest (Hungarian: Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem, SZFE) is an educational institution founded in 1865 in Budapest, Hungary. It became a university in 2000 and the name was changed to University of Theatre and Film Arts.On 31 August 2020, the university's management resigned in protest at the imposition of a government-appointed board of trustees which they saw as limiting the university's autonomous status.

The Budapest Ghetto was a Nazi ghetto set up in Budapest, Hungary, where Jews were forced to relocate by a decree of the Government of National Unity led by the fascist Arrow Cross Party during the final stages of World War II. The ghetto existed from November 29, 1944, to January 17, 1945.

The Budapest University of Jewish Studies (Hungarian: Országos Rabbiképző – Zsidó Egyetem, or Országos Rabbiképző Intézet / Jewish Theological Seminary – University of Jewish Studies / German: Landesrabbinerschule in Budapest) is a university in Budapest, Hungary. It was opened in 1877, a few decades after the first European rabbinical seminaries had been built in Padua, Metz, Paris and Breslau. Still, it remains the oldest existing institution in the world where rabbis are graduated.

The Klauzál Square Market Hall or Market Hall III (formerly István Square Market Hall) is one of the great Budapest market halls built under the monarchy. VII. district located in Klauzál Square, built in 1897 III. Market Hall. Its designers were the architects of the Budapest engineering office, József Kommer and Pál Klunzinger. In connection with the market hall, an apartment building was also built on Klauzál Square, which made it possible to rent outlets at lower prices. The number of contemporary sales outlets was over 300. Interestingly, Kosher food was available in a separate space in the hall, being in the Jewish Quarter. The building, which became dilapidated in the second half of the 20th century, was renovated in 2014-2015, taking into account its original state and modern needs.

Szimpla Kert is a romkocsma, which means "Simple Garden" in Hungarian, located in the Jewish Quarter of the 7th district of Budapest, Hungary. The pub started as a place for people to find a cheap drink in a relaxed environment, but has grown to become a tourist attraction and community center. Movie showings, live music performances, an art gallery, the Kazinczy Living Library, the Szimpla Farmers' Market, and the Szimpla Bringa bicycle flea market are just a few of the community activities that are held at the bar.
