The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center East Hospital is a university hospital in King-Lincoln Bronzeville, Columbus, Ohio. The hospital has a Level III trauma center, an emergency department, and provides numerous inpatient and outpatient services. It is part of the Wexner Medical Center, administered by the Ohio State University.The Ohio State University maintains its orthopedic, wound care, and specialty blood vessel surgery programs at the hospital. As of 2013, it is the neighborhood's largest employer, and only expected to expand its presence there.

The Macon Hotel is a historic building in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The hotel, completed in 1888, served noted jazz musicians in the 20th century. It was listed on the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1983.The hotel building is one of four remaining properties in Columbus included in The Green Book, a historical guide to Black-friendly accommodations.

Engine House No. 8, also known as the Twentieth Street Engine House, is a former Columbus Fire Department station in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The building was constructed in 1888, designed in the Romanesque Revival style. The station was decommissioned in 1968. In the 1980s, a supermarket was built around the original structure; today the firehouse and supermarket buildings are used as the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services' East Opportunity Center.
