Pierrefonds Community High School (often abbreviated as PCHS), is a non-denominational, English speaking educational facility located in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada with an enrollment capacity of approximately 1,200 students, in grades 7 through 11. It operates within the Lester B. Pearson School Board and has functioned as a secondary school since 1971. Having been originally named Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School, the slight name variation was added after the merge with Riverdale High School in 2019. The principal of the school is Lucia V. Coretti.

Emmanuel Christian School is a small private school located in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, a city of Greater Montreal. EMCS is a school that bases its educational and religious values on the Bible and Evangelical Protestant teachings, while simultaneously meeting or exceeding all of the educational requirements of the Ministre de l'Education, du Loisir et du Sport. A former dispute with another Montreal area private school named "Miss Edgar and Miss Cramp's School" has led to the use of the acronym "EMCS" instead of the previous "ECS". EMCS offers both elementary and secondary education from Kindergarten up to Grade 11. There is only one class per grade with usually 20-30 students per class. Total enrollment for the entire school is roughly 300 students. In 2009, admissions for French-speaking high school students was made possible with the establishment of the French Sector. However the high school sectors merged in 2017 and are now bilingual. The current principal is Mr. Jean Obed Jubuisson, the High School Administrator is Mr. Alexander Ko, the Elementary School Administrator is Mrs. Judy Ikegami, and the Director of Operations is Mr. Martin Plante.

Pierrefonds Boulevard is an east-west boulevard in the northwest of the Island of Montreal, or the northern part of West Island. It runs mostly through the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro.

Sainte-Geneviève was a municipality located on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It is now part of the Borough of L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève in the City of Montreal, created on January 1, 2002. The municipality, a small village populated by traditional Quebec-style dwellings and colonial mansions, is located on the north-west shore of the Island of Montreal along Gouin Boulevard, overlooking the Rivière des Prairies and across from Île Bizard located to the north. It is surrounded by the former municipality of Pierrefonds to the west, south and east. The Cégep Gérald-Godin and the Église Sainte-Geneviève, built in 1844 and designed by renowned Quebec architect Thomas Baillargé, are located here.

Jacques-Cartier County was an historic county on the Island of Montreal in the province of Quebec. It existed between 1855 and 1970.

Jacques Bizard Bridge is a bridge that crosses the Rivière des Prairies and connects L'Île Bizard to Montreal Island. Except for a cable ferry that connects Île Bizard with Laval-sur-le-Lac, it is the only access to Île Bizard, which had a population of 13,861 at the 2001 census. It carries three lanes of Jacques Bizard Boulevard, including one reversible lane. As of 2008, it is being widened to accommodate a bicycle path. The ferry, which crosses the north branch of the Rivière des Prairies, operates only seasonally between April and November. The bridge was named after Jacques Bizard, who was seigneur of Île Bonaventure, which was later renamed after him as well. The current span was built in 1966 and replaced an old bridge that was built in 1893.

Cégep Gérald-Godin is a French-language public college located in Sainte-Geneviève, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is the first and only French-language public college on the West Island of Montreal. It is located on Gouin Boulevard overlooking the Rivière des Prairies. Its building, designed in 1932 by Lucien Parent, was formerly a novitiate of the Congregation of Holy Cross.It is named after poet and separatist politician Gérald Godin.

Île Pariseau is a small island located in the Rivière des Prairies across the river from Île Bizard and Montreal Island. The island is part of Îles Laval which is linked to Île Jésus (Sainte Dorothée, Laval), Quebec, Canada. Îles Laval became part of Laval in 1965.

The Îles Laval are an island grouping in the Rivière des Prairies in southwestern Quebec, part of the Hochelaga Archipelago. Formerly an independent municipality (Les Îles-Laval), they became part of the city of Laval on August 6, 1965.

Île-Bigras was a commuter rail station operated by the Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM) in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It was served by the Deux-Montagnes line. It is a future Réseau express métropolitain station.

Île Bigras is the largest of the four islands that make up the Îles-Laval archipelago in the Rivière des Prairies in Quebec. They all are part of the city of Laval since 1965. The 1 km (0.62 mi) Île Bigras was named in 1817 as Île Amesse, after the name of its owner, Louis Amesse (other more recent maps have also shown the names Île Boiret and Île Boisvert). The island was bought in 1890 by Émilien Bigras, who gave it his name. He was also the owner of the three other islands of the archipelago: Île Pariseau, Île Verte and Île Ronde. Thanks to the Deux-Montagnes commuter train line and its station, the island is less than 30 minutes from Downtown Montreal and Central Station. It is also less than a quarter-hour from the seasonal reaction ferry that connects Île Bizard with Laval-sur-le-Lac. A park and ride at the station can accommodate several cars.

The Église Sainte-Geneviève (Church of St. Genevieve) is a parish church located in the former village of Sainte-Geneviève, Québec (now part of Montreal) on the north-west shore of the Island of Montreal overlooking the Rivière des Prairies. Its affiliation is Roman Catholic and it is administered under the Diocese of Montreal by La Paroisse Sainte-Geneviève de Pierrefonds, founded by Antoine Faucon in 1741. Construction of the church, headed by Louis-Marie Lefèvre, was completed in 1844 and was designed by architect Thomas Baillargé.
