Gemonio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Varese in the Lombardy region of Italy, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of Milan and about 14 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,702 and an area of 3.7 square kilometres (1.4 sq mi).Gemonio borders the following municipalities: Azzio, Besozzo, Brenta, Caravate, Cittiglio, Cocquio-Trevisago. In Gemonio lives Umberto Bossi, an Italian politician.

Besozzo is a town and municipality located in the province of Varese, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Besozzo hosts a small historical centre with churches and noble houses, so-called Palazzi, in its upper part which is in part pedestrian zone, and a vivid modern centre with shops, cafes, banks etc. in its lower part. The village is situated in the region of the lakes, with Lago Maggiore being only 6 kilometres (4 mi) away, and features views of the Alps. Besozzo has a train station on the Luino–Milan railway, and a fast road linking it to the Italian highway system. As many surrounding villages, it has grown considerably and it still doing so, in part because of families moving from Milan to region of lakes and becoming commuters. Besozzo is close to the Ispra site of the European Union's Joint Research Centre.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,817 and an area of 11.5 square kilometres (4.4 sq mi). The town is known as the birthplace of Alfredo Binda, a world-class bicycle racer in the 1920s and 1930s. Cittiglio borders the following municipalities: Brenta, Caravate, Castelveccana, Gemonio, Laveno-Mombello. The elite women's professional road bicycle racing event Trofeo Alfredo Binda-Comune di Cittiglio is held annually here.

It is located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northwest of Milan and about 12 kilometres (7 mi) west of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 750 and an area of 2.3 square kilometres (0.89 sq mi). It had been a comune until 1 January 2023, when it merged with Bardello and Malgesso, and became part the newborn comune of Bardello con Malgesso e Bregano.
