Richmond High School (RHS) is a secondary school located in Richmond, California, United States. It is part of the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) and serves half of North Richmond and San Pablo.

Salesian College Preparatory (formerly Salesian High School and Salesian House of Studies) is a private, Roman Catholic, co-educational, college-preparatory high school in Richmond, California, United States. Established in 1927, it is part of the Salesians of Don Bosco and is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland. It is a Salesian school and is situated on 21 acres (8.5 ha) in the North & East neighborhood. It has rivalries with St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School and Saint Mary's College High School.

Casino San Pablo is a Native American reservation with a gambling hall located in San Pablo, California. It is operated by the Lytton Band of Pomo Indians. It is adjacent to the site of the now demolished Doctors Medical Center. The former medical center was sold to the tribe in 2017.

San Pablo Peninsula is a peninsula in western Richmond, between San Pablo Bay and San Rafael Bay, in southwestern Contra Costa County, California.

Richmond is a city in western Contra Costa County, California, United States. The city was incorporated on August 7, 1905, and has a city council. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay region, Richmond borders San Pablo, Albany, El Cerrito and Pinole in addition to the unincorporated communities of North Richmond, Hasford Heights, Kensington, El Sobrante, Bayview-Montalvin Manor, Tara Hills, and East Richmond Heights, and for a short distance San Francisco on Red Rock Island in the San Francisco Bay. Richmond is one of two cities, the other being San Rafael, that sits on the shores of both San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay. Its population was 116,448 as of the 2020 census.

Alvarado Adobe is a historical adobe house in San Pablo, California in Contra Costa County. Jesús María Castro built the Adobe house for his monther Dona Gabriéla Berryessa de Castro in 1842. At that time, Dona Gabriéla Berryessa de Castro was the widow of Californio landowner Francisco María Castro (1770–1831). After the Mexican secularization, Castro was granted Rancho San Pablo (Cuchiyunes) in 1823 by Governor Luís Antonio Argüello. The land had previously been grazing land for cattle belonging to the Mission San Francisco de Asís, but was secularized by the First Mexican Republic. Castro and his family moved to the rancho in 1824. At Alvarado Adobe, Castro also built grape arbor, and planted gardens. In 1851, Dona Gabriéla died, and the adobe house was passed down to her daughter, Martina Castro de Alvarado, who married Juan Bautista Alvarado, who was Governor of California from 1836 to 1842. The Adobe is named after Juan Bautista Alvarado. Alvarado/Castro descendants sold parts of the Rancho to American ranchers and farmers and town grew around the Alvarado Adobe. Today the house is the Alvarado Adobe Museum. The Alvarado Square Civic Center opened in 1978 at the site of the Alvarado/Castro home. A replica of Alvarado adobe home was built at the Alvarado Square complex and in 1905 the historical wooden Blume House was moved to the Alvarado Square complex. The original Alvarado Adobe was demolished in the mid-20th century to build a motel.

Macdonald 80 Shopping Center, or Macdonald 80, is a 200,000 sq. ft. (18,580m³) regional shopping mall in the North & East neighborhood in Richmond, California, anchored by a Target store. The center was largely demolished and rebuilt after suffering from urban decay and blight. It is the only entirely LEED certified mall. It is anchored by a large Target store.

Richmond station (officially the Richmond Transit Center) is an Amtrak intercity rail and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station located in downtown Richmond, California. Richmond is the north terminus of BART service on the Orange Line and Red Line; it is a stop for Amtrak's Capitol Corridor, San Joaquins, and California Zephyr routes. The accessible station has one island platform for the two BART tracks, with a second island platform serving two of the three tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad Martinez Subdivision for Amtrak trains. It is one of two transfer points between BART and Amtrak, along with Oakland Coliseum station. The Southern Pacific (SP)-controlled Northern Railway opened through what is now Richmond in 1878. A flag stop at Barrett's Station was established by the mid-1880s; it was renamed Richmond in 1902 during the town's rapid growth. The SP constructed a new station at Richmond in 1904 and again in 1914–15. The SP station was demolished around 1968, though passenger continued until the formation of Amtrak in 1971. The modern station opened on January 29, 1973, as the northern terminal of BART service. Controversies during planning included the station location and the design of the concourse. Amtrak service to the station began on October 30, 1977. A new Amtrak platform was built in 2001, followed by a renovation of the whole station completed in 2007. A parking garage replaced the surface parking lot in 2013.

Pullman is a neighborhood in Richmond, California. This area was named after the Pullman Company, founded by prolific industrialist George Mortimer Pullman, who in 1910 built the main facility on the 22 acres (89,000 m2) that would someday become this neighborhood. This facility, named The Pullman Shops, served as the main manufacturing and repair facility for the famous Pullman sleeping car ubiquitous throughout the United States for much of the 20th century. During World War II, this facility played an important role in the war effort. The Pullman shop in Richmond was closed on December 31, 1959. Today, Pullman has been redeveloped primarily into residential units, much like apartments. However, there are a few neighborhood businesses along Carlson and Cutting Boulevard and a railroad is located on the border. Two Pullman shop buildings are still standing today at 350 Carlson Blvd.
