Agios Ioannis Rentis (Greek: Άγιος Ιωάννης Ρέντης) is a suburb and a former municipality in the Piraeus regional unit, lying in the western part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Rentis, of which it is a municipal unit.

Moschato (Greek: Μοσχάτο) is a town and a suburb in the southwestern part of the Athens agglomeration, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Moschato-Tavros, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit.

Moschato (Greek: Μοσχάτο) is on the Athens Metro Line 1, located in the municipality of Moschato-Tavros in the regional unit of South Athens, Attica, Greece. It is marked at the 3.982 km from the starting point in Piraeus station of Line 1. The station was opened in 1882 and was renovated in 2003, it features two platforms.

Lefka railway station (Greek: Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Λεύκα, romanized: Sidirodromikos stathmos Lefka) is a station on the Piraeus–Platy railway line in Piraeus. Originally opened on 30 June 1884 it was rebuilt to serve the Athens Suburban Railway lines when this section came into operation in June 2007.

The Piraeus University of Applied Sciences (Greek: Ανώτατο Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Πειραιά Τεχνολογικού Τομέα, A.E.I. Πειραιά Τ.Τ.), also known as Technological Education Institute of Piraeus (TEIPIR), was a public higher education institute supervised by the Ministry of Education and Research. It was created by a special law in 1976 as a merging result of the Anastasiadis School (founded in 1947) and the Sivitanidios School (founded in 1957), and was established with the 1983 related law (Ν.1404/1983).In 2018 TEI of Piraeus merged with TEI of Athens forming the newly established University of West Attica (Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Αττικής).

The Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium (Greek: Στάδιο Γεώργιος Καραϊσκάκης), commonly referred to as the Karaiskakis Stadium (Greek: Στάδιο Καραϊσκάκη, [staðio karaiˈskaki]), is a football stadium in Piraeus, Attica, Greece, and the home ground of the Piraeus football club Olympiacos. It is named after Georgios Karaiskakis, a military commander of the Greek War of Independence, who is considered a national hero and was mortally wounded in the area. With a capacity of 32,115 it is the largest only football stadium and the second largest football stadium overall in Greece. The stadium will host the 2023 UEFA Super Cup, since due to Russia's suspension from UEFA the original venue in Kazan had to be moved.

The Karaiskakis Stadium disaster was an incident that occurred on 8 February 1981 at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Neo Faliro, Piraeus, Greece, after the conclusion of a football match between Olympiacos and AEK Athens. It is the worst football tragedy in Greece's history,. A total of 21 people, 20 supporters of Olympiacos and one supporter of AEK, died while rushing out of the stadium to celebrate the 6–0 victory of Olympiacos against AEK. The accident occurred in the historic Gate 7 (Θύρα 7). The stadium has since been rebuilt as a modern football field (not a stadium). There are still debates regarding the causes that led to the disaster. The main cause of the accident, according to the official police report, seems to have been a partially closed door. While exiting, some fans lost their balance and fell on the last steps: dozens fell onto each other and were stepped over by a horde of unsuspecting fans who kept coming in. 19 supporters died at the stadium, while another two died of their injuries in hospital, with 55 being injured, many of them seriously. Most of the dead and wounded were teenagers and young adults.The accident occurred at Gate 7 of the stadium, a gate where supporters of Olympiacos were concentrated, however, one of the victims was a supporter of AEK, a friend of an Olympiacos supporter. In memory of this event, every year on February 8, there is a memorial service at the stadium in honor of the supporters that died in that incident. The service is attended by thousands of fans every year, who are rhythmically shouting the phrase "Αδέρφια, ζείτε, εσείς μας οδηγείτε." (Adhérfia, zíte, esís mas odhiyíte, "Brothers, you live, you are the ones who guide us."). At the tribune part of the stadium at Gate 7, some seats are colored black instead of red, shaping the number "7", whereas there is also a monument on the eastern side of the stadium, bearing the names of all 21 supporters killed on that day. Even though this incident affected almost solely the fanbase of Olympiacos, other teams occasionally pay their respects to the people killed as well, as they consider the incident to be a tragedy not only for one team but for the whole country. In the past, even foreign teams, such as Liverpool F.C. and Red Star Belgrade have honored the incident's victims. "Gate 7" (Θύρα 7), οne of the biggest and most supportive fan clubs of Olympiacos, was named after the incident. Although "Gate 7" members are generally considered to be ultras, the people sitting in that gate before and during the incident were normal supporters, without season tickets (as in the old stadium only gate 1—which was a VIP gate—supported some season tickets).

The Neo Phaliron Velodrome (New Phaleron) was a velodrome and sports arena in the Neo Faliro District of Piraeus, Greece, used for the cycling events at the Athens 1896 Summer Olympics. The property was donated by the Athens-Piraeus train company to the Hellenic Olympic Committee. It became the home of two football clubs which expanded into more sports: Ethnikos Piraeus (1923) and Olympiacos CFP (1925). The venue was enlarged in 1964 and named after Georgios Karaiskakis, a Greek military commander and a leader of the Greek War of Independence, who died nearby the stadium. The second stadium hosted the 1969 European Athletics Championships and the 1971 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final. Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium was completely rebuilt in 2004, when it hosted several games of the football tournament in the 2004 Summer Olympics, including the Women's Gold medal match. In 2022, it is the second largest football venue in Greece with a capacity of 32,115 spectators. It's the home of football club Olympiacos F.C.

Peiraios Street (Greek: Οδός Πειραιώς, Odos Peiraios, "Piraeus Street") is a main road in Athens, Greece linking the center of the city with the port of Piraeus. It is part of the system of national roads, as number 56 (Greek: Εθνική Οδός 56, abbreviated as EO56). Its length spans 10 km. Major intersections and an interchange include Karaoli Dimitriou Street, Kifissou Avenue, the Konstantinopouleos Avenue junction, Apostolou Pavlou with Vasileiou tou Megalou, Ermou, Thermopylon, Sofokleous, Deligiorgi and Sokratous Street. The island areas of the road are aligned with trees, and historically the avenue runs over parts of the north wall and ancient road of Phaleron.

The OAED Vocational College shooting was a school shooting that occurred on April 10, 2009, at the Manpower Employment Organisation of Greece (OAED)‛s vocational training school OAED (Greek: Σχολή Μαθητείας) in Agios Ioannis Renti suburb, Athens, Greece, during which a gunman shot one student and two civilians before fatally shooting himself in a nearby park. The gunman was a 19-year-old year student, a greek immigrant from Abkhazia, a region of the country Georgia, Dimitris Patmanidis (Greek: Δημήτρης Πατμανίδης) who was studying car electrics at the school. It is the only incident of school shooting to occur in Greece so far.

The Nikaia Municipal Stadium (Greek: Δημοτικό Γήπεδο Νίκαιας) or simple Nikaia stadium (Greek: γήπεδο Νίκαιας) is a football stadium in the Piraeus suburb of Nikaia. It is the main playing field for the local Proodeftiki F.C. playing team, and is colloquially known by the name "Proodeftiki Stadium". It is located 2 km east of the Neapoli Stadium, home of the Proodeftiki's local rival Ionikos F.C.

The Third Cemetery of Athens (Greek: Τρίτο Νεκροταφείο Αθηνών, Tríto Nekrotafeío Athinón) is a cemetery located in the Aspra Chomata district of Nikaia. It is located at the junction of Thebes and Petros Ralli avenues and its central entrance is on Kavkasou street. The area of the cemetery is part of the Municipality of Nikaia-Agios Ioannis Renti and administratively falls under the Municipality of Athens. It is the largest cemetery in the Balkans, with more than 27,000 burial monuments. It is also considered important because several famous Greeks are laid to rest there. In its northwestern part, at the height where the boundaries of the municipalities of Nikaia, Korydallos, Agia Varvara and Aigaleo, it also includes a Jewish cemetery, the second overall cemetery of the Jewish community in Athens. In the surrounding area within the cemetery, there are monuments to the victims of the Executions of Kokkinia and the Aigaleo massacre, respectively. Near the cemetery are the Nikaia Municipal Gymnasium, the D.A.K. Nicaea "Plato" and the General Hospital of Nicaea Piraeus "Agios Panteleimon".
