Belmont is an unincorporated community in the town of Mount Holly in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. Belmont is about six miles west of the village of Ludlow.

Mount Holly is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. It includes the hamlets of Belmont, Healdville, Hortonville, and Tarbellville. The population was 1,385 at the 2020 census.

Bowen Forest in Mount Holly, Vermont, United States, is a component of the Yale Forests system. This system also includes the 7,900 acres (32 km2) Yale-Myers Forest located in the towns of Union, Ash-ford, East-ford, and Woodstock, Connecticut, and the 1,100 acres (4.5 km2) Yale-Tourney Forest in the towns of Swanzey, New Hampshire and Keene, New Hampshire. Bowen Forest is 462 acres (1.87 km2) in size, and like the other Yale Forests, is owned by Yale University and administered by the Yale School of the Environment. It was given to the university in 1922 by Elma S. Bowen in honor of her son, Joseph Brown Bowen, a 1917 graduate of the School of Forestry who was killed in France during World War I.

The Crowley Cheese Factory is a historic factory at 14 Crowley Lane in Healdville, Vermont. It is the home of the Crowley Cheese Company, which is believed to be the oldest indigenous manufacturer of cheese in the United States. The factory was built in 1881, and still makes cheese using its original methods and recipes. The factory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Hortonville is an unincorporated community in Rutland County, Vermont, United States.

The Anthony Scoville House, also known as Corbu, is a historic house at 905 Dawley Road in Mount Holly, Vermont. Built between 1964 and 1968, it is a distinctive local example of the International Style of architecture, designed by architect Anthony Scoville for his own year-round use. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. In early 2016, it was for sale.

Okemo State Forest covers 7,466 acres (30.21 km2) in Andover, Ludlow, Mount Holly and Weston, Vermont, United States, in Windsor and Rutland Counties. Okemo Mountain Resort is located in the forest. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation. Activities in the forest include hiking, biking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and hunting. Portions of the forest are open to primitive camping. Access is both by state and town road as well as state forest highways (4WD gravel roads). Okemo State Forest is home to the 798-acre Terrible Mountain Natural Area.

The West River is a tributary of the Connecticut River, about 53.8 miles (86.6 km) long, in southern Vermont in the United States. According to the Geographic Names Information System, it has also been known historically as "Wantastiquet" and as "Waters of the Lonely Way". Its watershed covers 423 square miles (1,100 km2); land use is about 90% forested and 3% agricultural, and the upper river supports wild native brook and wild brown trout, while Atlantic salmon occur in most of the river.The West River rises in the Green Mountains in the town of Mount Holly in southeastern Rutland County and flows southwardly through southwestern Windsor County into Windham County, where it turns southeastwardly. Along its course it flows through or along the boundaries of the towns of Weston, Londonderry, Jamaica, Townshend, Brookline, Newfane (where it collects the Rock River), and Dummerston to Brattleboro, where it flows into the Connecticut River.U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dams on the West cause the river to form Ball Mountain Lake and Townshend Lake, both of which were built for the purpose of flood control in 1961. The river between Ball Mountain Lake and Townshend Lake is used for white water boating during releases from the Ball Mountain Dam (usually occurring during one weekend in April and one weekend in September).

Laurel Hall and the Laurel Glen Mausoleum form a historic estate property on Vermont Route 103 in Shrewsbury, Vermont. Built between 1880 and 1882, the estate includes examples of high style Queen Anne architecture in the main house and some outbuildings, and includes a distinctive Egyptian Revival mausoleum, all built by John Porter Bowman, a prominent local businessman. The properties were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

The Windsor-Rutland-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Windsor-Rutland-1 District includes all of the Windsor County towns of Ludlow and Plymouth, and the Rutland County town of Mount Holly. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Windsor-Rutland-1 District had a population of 4,245 in that same census, 4.58% above the state average.
