Cuttingsville is an unincorporated village in the town of Shrewsbury, Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The community is located along Vermont Route 103 and the Mill River 9.5 miles (15.3 km) south-southeast of Rutland. Cuttingsville has a post office with ZIP code 05738.

The Rutland-3 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Rutland-3 District includes all of the Rutland County towns of Shrewsbury, Tinmouth, and Wallingford. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Rutland-3 District had a population of 3,949 in that same census, 2.71% below the state average.

The Anthony Scoville House, also known as Corbu, is a historic house at 905 Dawley Road in Mount Holly, Vermont. Built between 1964 and 1968, it is a distinctive local example of the International Style of architecture, designed by architect Anthony Scoville for his own year-round use. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. In early 2016, it was for sale.

Mount Holly is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. It includes the hamlets of Belmont, Healdville, Hortonville, and Tarbellville. The population was 1,385 at the 2020 census.

Bowen Forest in Mount Holly, Vermont, United States, is a component of the Yale Forests system. This system also includes the 7,900 acres (32 km2) Yale-Myers Forest located in the towns of Union, Ash-ford, East-ford, and Woodstock, Connecticut, and the 1,100 acres (4.5 km2) Yale-Tourney Forest in the towns of Swanzey, New Hampshire and Keene, New Hampshire. Bowen Forest is 462 acres (1.87 km2) in size, and like the other Yale Forests, is owned by Yale University and administered by the Yale School of the Environment. It was given to the university in 1922 by Elma S. Bowen in honor of her son, Joseph Brown Bowen, a 1917 graduate of the School of Forestry who was killed in France during World War I.

The Brown Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge in Shrewsbury, Vermont. Located in the northwestern part of the town, it carries Upper Cold River Road over the Cold River. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 2011 due to damage from Hurricane Irene and reopened on July 5, 2016. Built in 1880 by noted Vermont bridgewright Nichols M. Powers, it was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2014, cited as one of the finest and least-altered examples of a Town lattice truss covered bridge in the United States.

The Green Mountain Cottage is a historic tourist accommodation at 61 Church Street in Mount Holly, Vermont. Built about 1853 as a farm house, it was converted into a tourist house in the 1880s, and has undergone numerous alterations which give it a predominantly Colonial Revival feel. The house, along with a period barn, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021. It is now a private residence.

Jim Jeffords State Forest covers 1,349 acres (5.46 km2) in Mendon and Shrewsbury, Vermont. The forest connects Aitken State Forest, to the east, and Calvin Coolidge State Forest, to the west, contributing to the conservation of an important wildlife corridor.Public access to Jim Jeffords State Forest is from Moonshine Lane and North Branch Roads off the Upper Cold River Road in Shrewsbury. The forest was created in 2016 and named after Shrewsbury resident state senator Jim Jeffords, who was noted for his legacy of environmental stewardship and land conservation. It is managed for recreation, wildlife habitat protection, sustainable timber harvesting, and water quality protection. Activities in the forest include hiking along woods roads, hunting, fishing and trapping, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. No roads are plowed in winter within the state forest.
