Cadeo (Piacentino: La Cadé or Cadé) is a town and comune (municipality) in the province of Piacenza, in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 14 kilometres (9 mi) southeast of Piacenza. It has about 5,600 inhabitants. The name is derived from Italian, meaning "House of God". This refers to a time when Cadeo was a stop-over for Christian pilgrims. Cadeo borders the following municipalities: Carpaneto Piacentino, Cortemaggiore, Fiorenzuola d'Arda, Pontenure. The Municipal Building for Cadeo is located in Roveleto, which is to the south-east on the Via Emilia. Roveleto is also the site of the closest railroad station to Cadeo.

The Collegio Alberoni is a Roman Catholic seminary located on Via Emilia Parmense #77 in Piacenza, Italy. The complex also includes a prominent art gallery, Galleria Alberoni. Affiliated with the seminary are an seismic and astronomical observatory (founded 1870), a museum of natural sciences, a library, and the church of San Lazzaro. The art gallery was refurbished and modernized in the 1960s by the architect Vittorio Gandolfi. The gallery is open on Sundays from 15:30 to 18:00 during October to June. Among the masterworks are: an Ecce Homo by Antonello da Messina, a diptych by Jan Provost, and paintings by Luca Giordano and Guido Reni) (in the Cardinal's apartment); as well as Giovanni Paolo Panini; Giovanni Battista Lenardi; Cristoforo Serra; Domenico Maria Viani; Sebastiano Conca; Sebastiano Martinez; and Italian genre artists. Among the latter are works by Bartolomeo Arbotori (1594–1676); Antonio Gianlisi junior (1677–1727); Marc’Antonio Rizzi (1648–1723); Ludovico Stern (1709–1777), Eberhart Keilhau (1624–1687); David de Coninck (1643–1701); Gaspard Dughet (1615–1675); Micco Spadaro (1609/10-1675); and Jacques Courtois, also called il Borgognone (1621–1670). The collection displays 18 large tapestries, including two 16th century Flemish tapestries. Among them are works weaved by the studio of Michel Wauters of Antwerp circa 1670 based on sketches by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli and some from Brussels, circa 1650, perhaps Jan Leyniers, and apparently based on sketches by Jacob Jordaens. The institution was endowed by the Cardinal Giulio Alberoni; construction began in 1732, and the seminary opened in 1751. In 1746, during the War of Austrian Succession, the structures of the time were nearly razed. It was administered by the Padri della Missione.The mission of the seminary as set forth by Alberoni was to provide for the subsidized education of the clerics for the diocese of Piacenza. Among its objectives were an "education in divinity", "virtuous orientation' for which the alumni should demonstrated "docility, and a realistic capacity to work for the common good, respect for the property of the college, distance from secularism, and the capacity to disrobe the spirit of the word, and garner those of Christ"a -> an. Admission was by contest. Studies lasted 8 years and included humanistic disciplines such as philosophy and morals. The institution rapidly adapted to an enlightened education, including scientific methods.

San Giorgio Piacentino (Piacentino: San Zorz, IPA: [saŋ ˈzɔːrz] or [saŋ ˈzɔːʁz]) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Piacenza in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 140 kilometres (87 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 11 kilometres (7 mi) south of Piacenza. San Giorgio Piacentino borders the following municipalities: Carpaneto Piacentino, Gropparello, Podenzano, Ponte dell'Olio, Pontenure, Vigolzone.

The Nure (Latin Nura) is a small river in northern Italy (province of Piacenza). It has its source on the northern slopes of Mt. Nero, elevation 1,754 metres (5,755 ft) above sea level, and after a course of about 75 kilometres (47 mi)—the second longest of the province—flows into the Po River 10 kilometres (6 mi) east of Piacenza, in the vicinity of Roncarolo, a frazione of the commune of Caorso, on the border with the Lombard commune of Caselle Landi. The upper valley is somewhat influenced by the sea air, keeping it free of fog and strong winds, and therefore relatively pleasant even during the winter months. In this valley, there are 79 fortifications (castles, fortified towers and dwellings, etc.) The main villages along this river are: Ferriere, Bosconure, Cantoniera, Farini d'Olmo, Bettola, Ponte dell'Olio, Vigolzone, Grazzano Visconti, Podenzano. In addition to the main villages, other areas of the Val Nure (Valley of the Nure) are delineated by parishes, with churches located along the peaks of the mountains. One example is Cogno San Bassano, at the top of the mountain above Farini d'Olmo. In 1799 the French Auvergne Regiment was surrendered at this river during the Revolutionary Wars. This marked the end of the Battle of the Trebbia, in which Suvorov's Russian and Austrian troops won a complete victory.

Carpaneto Piacentino (Piacentino: Carpané) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Piacenza in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, located about 130 kilometres (81 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southeast of Piacenza. Sights include the Badagnano Castle and the Olmeto Castle, both located in the frazione of Badagnano.[1] Carpaneto Piacentino borders the following municipalities: Cadeo, Castell'Arquato, Fiorenzuola d'Arda, Gropparello, Lugagnano Val d'Arda, Pontenure, San Giorgio Piacentino.

Casalini (founded in 1939 by Giovanni Casalini) is an Italian company that designs, manufactures, and distributes "light vehicles". Founded in 1939, Casalini is one of the oldest microcar producers in the world. The Cassalini production factory is located in Piacenza, Italy. The current line of Casalini microcars have bodies made of reinforced fiberglass plastic and feature a 635cc diesel engine produced by Mitsubishi, with 3.9 kW (5.3 PS).

The Battle of Placentia was fought in 194 BC, near Placentia, between the Roman Republic and the Boii. The Roman army won the battle. The following year, another battle with the Boii would take place in the same region; known as the Battle of Mutina, it would end the Boii threat.

Santa Maria in Torricella is a Roman Catholic church, located in Piacenza, Italy. The church was built in 1514 to house an icon of the Virgin in a chapel at the site. This church was used to provide religious consolation to those condemned to death (the scaffold was near the square). This service was provided by the Capuchins order, established in the church by Bishop Burali to take the role from the Confraternity of San Giovanni. The first church was enlarged in the mid-seventeenth century . The church has a canvas of a Beato Paolo Burali by Gaspare Landi, a Crucifixon by Robert de Longe, and a St Disma by Giuseppe Gherardi.

The Museo di Storia Naturale is the Natural History museum located Via Scalabrini 107 in Piacenza, Italy. The museum was established in a former abbatoir or Macello. The area also houses the Polo Territoriale di Piacenza del Politecnico di Milano or the branch of the Milanese public scientific-technological university. The local branch is focused on technology useful for architectural design, including model building.

Piacenza railway station (Italian: Stazione di Piacenza) serves the city and comune of Piacenza, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. Opened in 1859, it forms part of the Milan–Bologna railway, and is also a terminus of two other railways, the principal line to Alessandria and the secondary line to Cremona. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by Trenitalia. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company.

As of 2022, Piacenza is the ninth largest city in the region by population, with more than 102,000 inhabitants.Westernmost major city of the region of Emilia-Romagna, it has strong relations with Lombardy, with which it borders, and in particular with Milan. It was defined by Leonardo da Vinci as a "Land of passage" in his Codex Atlanticus, by virtue of its crucial geographical location.
