Taipana

The Calcare di Cellina (Italian for Cellina Limestone, is a Hauterivian to Aptian geologic formation in Friulia-Venezia Giulia, Italy. Fossil sauropod tracks have been reported from the formation.

Lusevera (Slovene: Bardo; Friulian: Lusevare) is a comune (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Udine in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Udine, on the border with Slovenia, and borders the following municipalities: Gemona del Friuli, Kobarid (Slovenia), Montenars, Nimis, Resia, Taipana, Tarcento, and Venzone.

Attimis (Friulian: Atimis; German: Attems; Slovene: Ahten) is a comune (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Udine in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 14 kilometres (9 mi) northeast of Udine. Attimis borders the following municipalities: Faedis, Nimis, Povoletto, Taipana.

Nimis (Slovene: Neme) is a town and comune (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Udine, Friuli, in the north-eastern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, near the border with Slovenia. It is located at the foot of Mount Bernadia, home to a World War I Italian fort and to a sweet white wine called Ramandolo. The town is bordered by the municipalities of Attimis, Lusevera, Povoletto, Reana del Rojale, Taipana, and Tarcento. According to the 1971 census, 25.4% of the population are Slovenes, but these are located mainly in some villages on the surrounding hills and not in the main town and the rest of the plain. Due to the ethnic, linguistic, and cultural features of their population, the mountainous parts of the municipality are considered part of the traditional region known as the Friulian Slavia. In the remaining part of the municipality, Friulian is still widely spoken.

The Arboreto Pascul is an arboretum located near Pradandons, Tarcento, Province of Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. It is open weekdays; admission is free. The arboretum was established in 1953 by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia regional government, primarily to cultivate exotic conifers. In 1974 its mission expanded to encompass botanical education, and to this end its collections now include as many species as possible of both conifer and hardwood, exotic and indigenous. It currently contains about 2,000 plants representing 72 species from 40 genera (14 gymnosperm and 26 angiosperm).

Povoletto (Friulian: Paulêt) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 7 kilometres (4 mi) northeast of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 5,500 and an area of 39.0 square kilometres (15.1 sq mi).The municipality of Povoletto contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Salt, Grions del Torre, Bellazoia, Belvedere, Marsure di Sotto, Marsure di Sopra, Magredis, Savorgnano del Torre, Ravosa, Siacco, and Primulacco. Povoletto borders the following municipalities: Attimis, Faedis, Nimis, Reana del Rojale, Remanzacco, Udine.

Borjana (pronounced [bɔˈɾjaːna]) is a village in the Municipality of Kobarid in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located in the Breginj Combe.

Montenars (Slovene: Gorjani) is a comune (municipality) in the Regional decentralization entity of Udine in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 554 and an area of 20.6 square kilometres (8.0 sq mi). Montenars borders the following municipalities: Artegna, Gemona del Friuli, Lusevera, Magnano in Riviera, Tarcento.

Tricesimo (Friulian: Tresesin) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) north of Udine. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,471 and an area of 17.5 square kilometres (6.8 sq mi).The municipality of Tricesimo contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Ara Grande, Ara Piccola, Felettano, Fraelacco, Leonacco, Braidamatta, Colgallo, and Adorgnano. Tricesimo borders the following municipalities: Cassacco, Pagnacco, Reana del Rojale, Tarcento, Tavagnacco, Treppo Grande, Fagagna.

Žaga (pronounced [ˈʒaːɡa]; Italian: Saga) is a settlement on the right bank of the Soča River in the Municipality of Bovec in the Littoral region of Slovenia. The turn for the road to Resia in Italy is in the middle of the settlement.

Vrtiglavica, also Vrtoglavica (both from Slovene vrtoglavica 'vertigo'), is a karst shaft on the Kanin Plateau, part of the Kanin Mountains, Western Julian Alps, on the Slovene side of the border between Slovenia and Italy. It has the deepest known pitch in the world, at 603 metres (1,978 ft). The cave formed in a glaciokarst landscape; that is, a karst landscape that was subjected to Pleistocene glacial activity.The total depth of the cave is 643 m (2,110 ft). It contains one of the tallest cave waterfalls in the world; the estimated height of the falls is 400–440 m (1,310–1,440 ft). It was discovered in the summer of 1996 by Italian speleologists and the bottom was reached on October 12, 1996, by a joint Slovene–Italian expedition.

Boka is a waterfall in the western part of Slovenia, near the Soča River. It begins at a karst spring and has two stages, of which the first is 106 meters (348 ft) high and 18 meters (59 ft) wide, and the second is 33 meters (108 ft) high.
