Knollwood is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 2,221. It is located within Shields Township and Libertyville Township. Knollwood shares a ZIP Code with the neighboring village of Lake Bluff, and children attend Lake Bluff schools. The residents of Knollwood were served by the Knollwood Fire Department until October 2018, after the trustees of the Rockland Fire Protection District ended their relationship with the department. Residents now receive fire protection from the Libertyville and Lake Forest fire departments. Police protection is provided by the Lake County Sheriff's Department.

Lambs Farm is a non-profit organization near Libertyville, Illinois, that provides vocational and residential services for over 250 adults with developmental disabilities. Located on a 72-acre (290,000 m2) campus, Lambs Farm includes several family attractions, such as a petting zoo, a pet shop, a miniature golf course, several small amusement rides, a restaurant, a thrift shop, a country store and a bakery. Lambs Farm community members work at these attractions, or at a nearby vocational center.Lambs Farm was formed in the 1960s by Corrine Owen and Robert Terese. Owen and Terese had been teaching at a school for adults with developmental disabilities, and were discouraged by the limited opportunities available to such people. In 1961, they opened a pet store near Chicago's Gold Coast and employed twelve of their students, who enthusiastically helped tend to the animals. Four years later, Owen and Therese acquired a farm near Libertyville with the help of W. Clement Stone and began developing the current Lambs Farm facility. By the late 1980s, Lambs Farm was hosting over 300,000 visitors a year, making it the third most popular attraction in Lake County, Illinois (behind Great America and the Ravinia Festival).The farm takes its name from John 21:15, in which Jesus tells St. Peter, "Feed my lambs."

The Robert Hosmer Morse House is a historic house at 1301 Knollwood Circle in Lake Forest, Illinois. Built in 1932, the house served as a summer home for businessman Robert Hosmer Morse and his family. The architectural firm of Zimmerman, Saxe & Zimmerman designed the house, which combined elements of the Moderne and Art Deco styles. As the wealthy residents of Lake Forest typically used traditional designs for their homes, the modern architectural styles were an unusual choice. The house's design features a stucco exterior, a horizontal emphasis throughout, casement windows, decorative limestone around the front entrance, and a recessed third floor.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 10, 2000.

Halas Hall (officially the PNC Center at Halas Hall) is a building complex in Lake Forest, Illinois, that serves as the headquarters of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). The 38-acre complex opened on March 3, 1997 and was expanded in 2013 and 2018.

Middlefork Savanna is a of 687 acres (278 ha) nature preserve in Lake Forest, Illinois. Several biomes including oak savannas, dry-mesic prairies, wet-mesic prairies, marshes, deciduous woodlands, and sedge meadows as well as a portion of the North Branch of the Chicago River are found in the preserve. The Middlefork Savanna also contains 25 acres (10 ha) of the “highest quality tallgrass savanna of its kind” in the United States. Such ecosystems are globally endangered. The preserve includes 5.5 miles of gravel trails for hiking and cross-country skiing as well as 4.2 miles of trails for biking. It is managed by Lake County Forest Preserves.

Oak Grove School District 68 is a school district in the central Lake County village of Green Oaks; it is located in the township of Libertyville. The district consists of a single school, Oak Grove School. Allison Sherman is the district's superintendent.In September 2010, the school was identified by Chicago Magazine as third on the list of Best Elementary Schools in the Lake County. In years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, Oak Grove School was identified in the top 5% of all Illinois Schools by Searchlight A+ Award for high student achievement as measured by Illinois Standards Achievement Test.

The school is located on the North Shore in Lake Forest, Illinois, United States, about 30 miles north of Chicago. The House at 965 Castlegate Court is a historic house located at 965 Castlegate Court in the Deerpath Hill Estates development in Lake Forest, Illinois. Developer Henry K. Turnbull, who planned the original section of Deerpath Hill Estates, built the house in 1930. The house is located at the northern entrance to the First Addition to Deerpath Hill Estates; it is technically outside of the development, and was marketed as being in the "Deerpath Hill Estates district". It is the only house Turnbull built outside of the original three sections of Deerpath Hill Estates; its location served to draw potential buyers into the estate from Waukegan Road. The house has a Colonial Revival design in keeping with the revivalist styles used in the development; its design features two stone-faced gables and a developed cornice.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 12, 2006.

Richard Earl Bush (December 23, 1924 – June 7, 2004) was a United States Marine master gunnery sergeant who received the Medal of Honor as a corporal for heroism on Okinawa during World War II. On April 16, 1945, Cpl. Bush placed himself on a thrown enemy grenade, absorbing the force of the explosion, saving the lives of his fellow Marines and corpsmen. In World War II, twenty-seven Marines similarly used their bodies against thrown enemy grenades in order to save their comrades' lives. Four of these Marines survived and were awarded the Medal of Honor — Richard Bush, Jacklyn H. Lucas, Carlton R. Rouh, and Richard K. Sorenson.

The Clifford Milton Leonard Farm is a historic farm at 550-579 Hathaway Circle in Lake Forest, Illinois. The gentleman's farm was built in 1923-26 for Clifford Milton Leonard; at the time, gentleman's farms were a popular pastime for America's wealthiest citizens, and Leonard, the head of several oil and banking companies, was no exception to this rule. The property includes three cottages, a large round barn, a smaller carriage barn, and several outbuildings and smaller structures; while its original plans included a main house as well, it was never built. Architect Ralph Varney designed the buildings in the French Renaissance Revival style, using elements such as stone and brick exteriors, steep hip roofs, and flared eaves. Noted landscape architect Jens Jensen planned the farm's layout.The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 10, 2000.
