Carlazzo (Comasco: Carlasc [karˈlaʃ]) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Milan and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,838 and an area of 12.7 square kilometres (4.9 sq mi). Carlazzo borders the following municipalities: Bene Lario, Corrido, Cusino, Grandola ed Uniti, Porlezza, San Bartolomeo Val Cavargna, San Nazzaro Val Cavargna, Val Rezzo.

Porlezza is a comune (municipality) on Lake Lugano in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) north of Milan and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of Como. Porlezza borders the following municipalities: Bene Lario, Carlazzo, Claino con Osteno, Corrido, Lenno, Ossuccio, Ponna, Val Rezzo, Valsolda. Between 1873 and 1939, Porlezza was linked to Menaggio, on Lake Como, by the Menaggio–Porlezza railway, a steam hauled narrow gauge line built as part of a multi-modal transport link between Menaggio and Luino, on Lake Maggiore.

The Cuccio is a 22-kilometre (14 mi) torrent of the Province of Como in north Italy. It rises at Pizzo di Gino (commune of San Nazzaro Val Cavargna) and runs south through the Val Cavargna before entering Lake Lugano at Porlezza.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 247 and an area of 9.7 km². Cusino borders the following municipalities: Carlazzo, Garzeno, Grandola ed Uniti, San Bartolomeo Val Cavargna.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 319 and an area of 5.7 square kilometres (2.2 sq mi). Bene Lario borders the following municipalities: Carlazzo, Grandola ed Uniti, Lenno, Porlezza.

The San Lucio Pass (Italian: Passo San Lucio), located in the Lugano Prealps at an altitude of 1,541 metres (5,056 ft) above sea level, connects the Val Cavargna in the Italian province of Como with the Val Colla in the Swiss canton of Ticino. The pass is shared by the municipalities of Cavargna (Italy) and Bogno (Switzerland). The pass is accessible by road from the Italian side, and by dirt track from the Swiss side. At the summit of the pass is a 14th-century church, dedicated to Saint Lucio after whom the pass is named, and a pair of refuges. The feast day of Saint Lucio, also known as Saint Uguzo and the patron saint of alpine dairymen, is celebrated on the pass on 12 July and 16 August. It is attended by large numbers of visitors from both sides of the border.
