Lozza, Lombardy

Viale Luigi Borri (officially Viale Borri Luigi), or more commonly Viale Borri, is an important street in Varese, Italy. From Largo Ennio Flaiano through the village of the neighborhood Bizzozero ends at the border of Lozza. Includes the initial part of the Provincial Road 233 Varesina. On this road lies the Ospedale di Circolo e Fondazione Macchi and Campus Bizzozero (University of Insubria).

The Battle of Varese was fought on 26 May 1859 at Varese (Lombardy). It was an engagement of the Second Italian War of Independence, fought between the Italian volunteers formation of the Hunters of the Alps, led by Giuseppe Garibaldi, against Austrian troops led by Karl von Urban. The Austrian defeat allowed the movement of the Hunters towards Como, and obliged the Austrians to keep troops on the northern part of the front.

The Circolo Hospital and Macchi Foundation (Italian: Ospedale di Circolo e Fondazione Macchi) is the largest hospital of Varese, Italy. Since 1995 is a hospital of national importance and high specialization. In 1975 it hosted the second faculty of Medicine of the University of Pavia, later incorporated in the new University of Insubria.

The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Each of these companies is a subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS), Italy's state-owned rail company. Train services are operated by the lombard railway company Trenord.
