Al-Raba al-Gharbi (Arabic: الربع الغربي) is a sub-district located in Sanhan and Bani Bahlul District, Sana'a Governorate, Yemen. Al-Raba al-Gharbi had a population of 23690 according to the 2004 census.

Al-Mahaqirah (Arabic: المحاقرة al-Maḥāqirah) is a small village in Sanhan District of Sanaa Governorate, Yemen. It lies about 15 km from Sanaa, just east of the road to Ta'izz.

Artil (Arabic: أرتل Artil) is a village in Sanhan District of Sanaa Governorate, Yemen. It is located 2km due south of Bayt Baws.

The Sanaa school shooting was a school shooting where Mohammad Ahman al-Nazari killed 6 people in Sanaa, Yemen on 30 March 1997. Nazari was convicted for the killings and sentenced to death. He was executed a week later.

Bayt Baws (Arabic: بيت بوس Bayt Baws) is a historic village and fortress in Bani Matar District of Sanaa Governorate, Yemen. It is a largely deserted Jewish settlement. It is located to the south of Sanaa, in a strategic position on the western side of the Sanaa plain. It served as a locally important stronghold throughout the middle ages and was especially used as a staging point for campaigns against Sanaa. Its period of greatest significance was during the campaigns of Al-Hadi ila'l-Haqq Yahya, the first Imam of Yemen. According to tradition, Bayt Baws is named after a person named Dhū Baws, whose genealogy is given either as Dhū Baws b. ‘Abd al-Rahmān b. Zayd b. ‘Abd Il b. Sharḥabīl b. Marāthid b. Dhī Saḥar or as Dhū Baws b. Barīl b. Sharaḥbīl, of the tribe of Himyar.

Qa'a al-Hibab (Arabic: قاع الحباب) is a sub-district located in Sanhan and Bani Bahlul District, Sana'a Governorate, Yemen. Qa'a al-Hibab had a population of 857 according to the 2004 census.

Lebanese International University is a university located in the Hadda neighborhood of the southern outskirts of Sana'a, Yemen. It is located south of the Lebanon Heart Hospital and west by road from Aljabowbi Castle. It is a branch of the Lebanese International University, founded in Beqaa.

The Sanaa funeral airstrike took place on the afternoon of 8 October 2016 when 155 people were killed and at least 525 more wounded when two airstrikes, about three to eight minutes apart, hit the packed Al Kubra hall in Sanaa, Yemen during a funeral. The attack was the deadliest single bombing in the then-two year long Yemeni civil war. The funeral was being held for the father of former interior minister Jalal al-Rowaishan. Sanaa mayor Abdel Qader Hilal was reportedly among those killed. The Saudi-led coalition initially denied responsibility but then took responsibility and put the blame on information given by the Yemeni government.The United Nations alleged that the Saudi-led coalition had violated international humanitarian law because the bombing was a 'double tap' attack, or a type of airstrike where the first bombing is followed by a second one soon after, with the aim of targeting the wounded, aid workers, and medical personnel tending to them. The UN report said: "The second air strike, which occurred three to eight minutes after the first air strike, almost certainly resulted in more casualties to the already wounded and the first responders." Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said that his government was being careful to abide by humanitarian law; however, it stated that its strike on the funeral hall was based on "incorrect information" given to them by the Yemeni government and that it had been carried out without authorization.Human Rights Watch identified the munitions used in the airstrike as 500-pound laser-guided bombs manufactured by the United States, and called on the U.S. to suspend arms sales to Saudi Arabia.

Bayt Mahfad (Arabic: بيت محفد Bayt Maḩfad), also spelled Bayt Mahfid, is a village in Bani Matar District of Sanaa Governorate, Yemen.

Aljabowbi Castle is a castle in the Hadda neighborhood of the southern outskirts of Sana'a, Yemen, southwest of the Lebanon Heart Hospital and west of the Lebanese International University and south of the Japanese Embassy and the Hadda Mineral Water Factory.

Sanhan and Bani Bahlul District (Arabic: مديرية سنحان وبني بهلول, romanized: Sanḥān and Bani Bahlul) is a district of the Sana'a Governorate, Yemen. Its seat is Sanhan. As of 2003, the district had a population of 400,399 inhabitants. The former President of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh comes from Beit al-Ahmar, which lies in Sanhan District.
