Sonnenallee (Berlin)

Sonnenallee is a railway station in the Neukölln district of Berlin. It is served by the S-Bahn lines and and is located at the southeastern end of the major street of the same name, about which a film was produced in 1999.

The Neukölln Ship Canal, or Neuköllner Schiffahrtskanal, is a 4.1-kilometre (2.5 mi) long canal in Berlin, Germany. It connects with the Landwehr Canal at its northern end, and with the Teltow Canal and the Britz Canal at its southern end.The canal has a single lock, the Schleuse Neukölln, towards its southern end. The lock rises from the level of the Landwehr Canal to that of the Teltow and Britz canals.

Eurofurence (commonly abbreviated EF) is a furry convention held in changing places in Europe every year (in Berlin, Germany since 2014 and will remain there for the time being). It was originally started in 1995 as a private gathering by nineteen European furry fans who met on the Internet. Attendance has been steadily rising since then, to 2804 at Eurofurence 23 (held in 2017), making it the largest furry convention outside the United States. The name of the convention derives from its American back-then-counterpart ConFurence, emphasising the European nature of the gathering. Since the year 2000, Eurofurence is no longer organized by individual persons but rather by the German Verein Eurofurence e.V., which serves as an administrative body for the convention. Contrary to most American furry conventions, Eurofurence traditionally took place at youth hostels. In 2007, Eurofurence was first held at a hotel (the Hotel Ringberg in Suhl).

The Estrel Berlin in Berlin is Europe’s largest convention, entertainment, and hotel complex, and with its 1,125 rooms the largest hotel in Germany. With a total turnover of 100.8 million DM (Deutsche Mark) in the year 2000, the Estrel became the hotel with the highest turnover in Germany, a status which it retained. In 2009 it had a turnover of 50.45 million Euros. The Estrel employs a total of 450 people including trainees, in addition another 150 employees from outside companies and about 100 part-time employees.

The Estrel Tower is a 176 m tall skyscraper under construction in the Neukölln district of Berlin, Germany. After its completion in 2024 the building will become Berlin's tallest building and Germany's tallest hotel.

Neukölln (German: [nɔʏˈkœln] (listen)) is one of the twelve boroughs of Berlin. It is located in the southeastern part from the city centre towards Berlin Schönefeld Airport. It was part of the former American sector under the Four-Power occupation of the city. It features many Gründerzeit buildings and is characterized by having one of the highest percentage of immigrants in Berlin. In recent years an influx of students and creative types has led to gentrification.

Karl-Marx-Straße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. The station was opened in 1926 as "Bergstraße," and renamed in 1946. Although Karl Marx was a hero of the socialist republic of East Germany, the station is in former West Berlin. In 1968, the station was elongated to 105m; due to this much of its original appearance was lost. In 1993, parts of the platform fell into the rail track and the station closed for a few days while repairs were made. The station is one stop from Neukölln station, where passengers can transfer to the S-Bahn.

Alt-Treptow (German pronunciation: [ˌʔaltˈtʁeːptoː] (listen), literally Old Treptow) is a German locality in the borough of Treptow-Köpenick in Berlin. Known also as Treptow it was, until 2001, the main and the eponymous locality of the former Treptow borough.

The Körnerpark (German pronunciation: [ˈkœʁnɐˌpaʁk] (listen)) is situated in Berlin Neukölln between Jonasstraße, Schierker Straße, Selkestraße and Wittmannsdorfer Straße. The approximately 2.4 hectare (about 5.93 acres) park resembles a palace garden. The feature in the eastern part of the park is a cascade with fountains. Opposite, to the west, an orangery houses a café and a gallery for temporary exhibitions, and forms the boundary of the park. During summer weekends the forecourt of the orangery is used for free concerts and performances. The northern part is dominated by a flower garden.
