The Rosery, Exning, Suffolk

Landwade is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Exning, in the West Suffolk district, in the county of Suffolk, England. It is 4 miles north of Newmarket. It was one of the smallest parishes in the county, it is only 1 kilometre from north to south and at most 500m from east to west. In 1951 the parish had a population of 38.The village is crossed by the New River (formerly known as Monk's Lode), a small river that flows through Wicken Fen and reaches the River Cam at Upware. The village's name probably derives in part from gewaed, an Old English word meaning "ford".

Exning is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. It lies just off the A14 trunk road, roughly 12 miles (19 km) east-northeast of Cambridge, and 10 miles (16 km) south-southeast of Ely. The nearest large town is Newmarket. The most conspicuous building in Exning is the church of St Martin, which is visible from the A14.

Newmarket Heath is a 279.3-hectare-large (690-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Newmarket in Suffolk. It covers most of Newmarket Racecourse.Most of this site is chalk grassland, and it has areas of chalk heath, a rare habitat in Britain. There is a rich variety of flowering plants, including a nationally rare species listed in the British Red Data Book of threatened species and five nationally uncommon ones. The dominant grasses are upright brome and sheep's fescue.

Newmarket Academy (formerly Newmarket College) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status located in Newmarket in the English county of Suffolk.Previously a community school administered by Suffolk County Council, Newmarket College converted to academy status on 1 July 2014 and was renamed Newmarket Academy and became part of the Samuel Ward Academy Trust. However, the school continues to coordinate with Suffolk County Council for admissions.Newmarket Academy offers GCSE courses, and has cross-curricular study and extra-curricular activities. In the academic year 2014–2015 GCSE results at the newly created Academy rose 15% to 52% A* - C including English and Maths. The school is also partnered with Godolphin to offer experience to the students.

RAF Newmarket was a Royal Air Force station located near Newmarket, Suffolk, England, near the border with Cambridgeshire. It was opened in 1939 and closed in 1945.

Snailwell Meadows is a 14.8-hectare (37-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Snailwell in Cambridgeshire.The meadows are on peat overlying spring-fed chalk, with a variety of soil conditions. Some areas are dry calcareous pasture, and others are wet neutral and marshy acidic grassland. Herbs include wild angelica, marsh valerian and fen bedstraw, and the nationally rare umbellifer Cambridge milk-parsley is also present.The site is private land with no public access.

Exning Road Halt railway station served the village of Exning, Suffolk, England from 1922 to 1962 on the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway.

Newmarket was a rural district in Cambridgeshire, England from 1894 to 1974. It surrounded the town of Newmarket, in West Suffolk, on the north, west and south sides. The district was created in 1894 as the Cambridgeshire part of the Newmarket rural sanitary district (the Suffolk part becoming Moulton Rural District), and included the parishes of Ashley, Bottisham, Brinkley, Burrough Green, Burwell, Cheveley, Chippenham, Fordham, Isleham, Kennett, Kirtling, Lode, Reach, Snailwell, Soham, Stetchworth, Swaffham Bulbeck, Swaffham Prior, Westley Waterless, Wicken, and Woodditton.It was abolished in 1974 by the Local Government Act 1972 and went on to form part of the East Cambridgeshire district.

Devil's Dyke or Devil's Ditch is a linear earthen barrier, thought to be of Anglo-Saxon origin, in eastern Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. It runs for 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) in an almost straight line from Reach to Woodditton, with a 10-metre-high (33 ft) ditch and bank system facing southwestwards, blocking the open chalkland between the marshy fens to the north and the formerly wooded hills to the south. It is a Scheduled Monument, a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation.

Fordham railway station is a disused railway station that served the village of Fordham, Cambridgeshire. Opened in 1879, the station formed the junction between the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway and the Ipswich to Ely Line in England. The Mildenhall branch closed to passengers in 1962 followed by the station in 1965.

Palace House is the home of the National Horse Racing Museum in the remaining part of Charles II's racing palace in Newmarket, Suffolk, England. It is home to the National Horse Racing Museum, the British Sporting Art Trust and Retraining of Racehorses, and was opened by Elizabeth II in 2016.
