Totem Lake

The Village at Totem Lake, formerly Totem Lake Mall, is a shopping center in Kirkland, Washington, United States. The center of Totem Lake Mall consisted of an enclosed shopping mall (Lower Mall), and an adjacent strip mall (Upper Mall). Collectively, the two centers were sometimes referred to as "Totem Lake Malls". Following the redevelopment of major regional malls beginning in the 1980s, Totem Lake Mall went into steady decline, losing most of its major tenants. The majority of these tenants were only accessible on the outside, shying away from the interior mall concept popular throughout the 1960s-1990s. Multiple redevelopments for the property were proposed. Village At Totem Lake, LLC purchased the mall in 2015 and in 2016 announced it would be redeveloped and reopened as The Village at Totem Lake.Today, The Village at Totem Lake includes retail, restaurants, office space, and on-site residential to create a mixed-use center. Current tenants include Cinemark, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe's, Nordstrom Rack, Ross Dress for Less, Ulta Beauty, lululemon, Barnes & Noble, Auto Zone, Panda Express, AT&T, Key Bank, Chipotle, Sephora, Salt & Straw, Pendleton Woolen Mills, Xfinity, MOD Pizza, Verizon, T-Mobile, Wells Fargo, 203°F Coffee Co, All The Best Pet Care, Anthony Vince' Nail Spa, Athleta, Due' Cucina, Evereve, Joe's Burgers, Mayweather Boxing, Sweet Serenity, The SweetSide, Urban Tread, Vida Integrated Health, Yuan Spa.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWTech) is a public technical institute in Kirkland, Washington. LWTech is a member of the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and offers bachelor's degrees, associate degrees, and professional certificates in more than 40 areas of study.In addition to regular enrollment, LWTech offers a Technical Academy, a full-time special purpose high school program giving qualifying students, ages 16 to 20, an opportunity to complete their high school diploma and to earn a two-year college technical degree at the same time. Other high school programs include, Running Start, Open Doors, Tech Prep, Adult High School Completion, and WANIC. In addition to high school diplomas, these students can also earn associate degrees.LWTech has one of the highest completion rates in the State of Washington.

Kingsgate is a neighborhood of Kirkland, Washington, United States. It was annexed by Kirkland on June 1, 2011. Prior to the annexation, Kingsgate was a census-designated place (CDP). Based on 2010 US Census data, Kingsgate ranks 70th of 522 evaluated areas in the state of Washington by per capita income.

Kamiakin Middle School is a middle school in Kirkland, Washington and is part of the Lake Washington School District. It was established in 1974, and accommodates 627 students as of the 2020–2021 school year. The school is named after Kamiakin, a chief of the Yakama Tribe in the 19th century and a leader of the American Indian side in the Yakima War.

Juanita High School is a high school in Kirkland, Washington, administered by Lake Washington School District. It was opened on September 4, 1971, as a result of a campaign driven by an education theory known as the "Juanita Concept", developed by John Strauss, who became the school's first principal. It was later discovered that this concept did not work, and so the school was later remodeled into a traditional format. The mascot chosen was the "rebel", to represent the rebellious nature of the teaching concept.In June 2018, half the school was demolished and was rebuilt to house more students in the growing school. The whole school has been rebuilt and fully refurbished as of September of 2020.

The Rowan Tree Church is a Wiccan organization, legally incorporated in 1979. It is an Earth-focused network of Members dedicated to the study and practice of the Wiccan Tradition known as Lothloriën. Originally centered in Minneapolis beginning in the late 1970s, its main office is in Kirkland, Washington. The Rowan Tree Church maintains its network through newsletters, the internet and with an annual retreat (meeting every third year at Old Faithful and, at other times, at The Hermit's Grove in Kirkland, a 1.3-acre (0.53 ha) property). The Rowan Tree Church has an in-depth training program which leads to ordination. It has been publishing The Unicorn newsletter since 1977. Littlest Unicorn is published eight times a year for children and their parents. The church began around the work and teaching of Rev. Paul Beyerl in the mid-1970s.

The Great Western Iron and Steel Company was a company founded in the 1890s in Kirkland, Washington Territory by the city's namesake Peter Kirk to build an integrated smelter and steel mill to refine local ore into steel for rails and other purposes. If the enterprise had proceeded as Kirk and other investors envisioned, it would have held a "practical monopoly of the entire Pacific Coast" steel production. But instead, the company went bankrupt in the Panic of 1893, and the mostly-completed mill never produced any steel. A scholar in 1962 called it "the last major effort of private capital to erect an integrated iron and steel mill on the West Coast".

Kirkland is a city in King County, Washington, United States. A suburb east of Seattle, its population was 92,175 in the 2020 U.S. census which made it the sixth largest city in the county and the twelfth largest in the state. The city's downtown waterfront has restaurants, art galleries, a performing arts center, public parks, beaches, and a collection of public art, primarily bronze sculptures. Kirkland was the original home of the Seattle Seahawks; the NFL team's headquarters and training facility were located at the Lake Washington Shipyard (now Carillon Point) along Lake Washington for their first ten seasons (1976–85), then at nearby Northwest University through 2007. Warehouse chain Costco previously had its headquarters in Kirkland. While Costco is now headquartered in Issaquah, the city is the namesake of its "Kirkland Signature" store brand.

Northeast 85th Street is a planned bus rapid transit station in Kirkland, Washington, to be operated by Sound Transit. The station is planned to be located at the intersection of Interstate 405 and Northeast 85th Street near the city center. Its construction will entail the removal of the existing cloverleaf interchange, replacing it with a three-level interchange with separate ramps for buses. Projected costs of the NE 85th Street station are estimated at up to a third of a billion dollars, making it one of the most expensive BRT projects planned by Sound Transit. The city's existing transit center about a mile away and about 200 feet lower in elevation could be connected with a funicular climbing Rose Hill, or the first aerial tramway in the Seattle area under various proposals.The project was approved by voters in 2016 with the passage of Sound Transit 3 and is fully funded at $250–300 million. Public meetings for the project kicked off in April 2018. The station is planned to open in 2024 after three years of construction. If accepted, the three-level design incorporating a dogbone interchange under Interstate 405 will be the first of its kind in the United States, and the most expensive bus stop in Sound Transit's bus rapid transit system. Sound Transit estimates that the station could transport a few hundred passengers a day in the 2020s.

Chateau Ste. Michelle is Washington State's oldest winery, located in Woodinville, Washington, near Seattle. It produces Chardonnay, Cabernet, Merlot, and Riesling, and has winemaking partnerships with two vintners: Col Solare is an alliance with Tuscany's Piero Antinori and Eroica Riesling is a partnership with the Mosel's Ernst Loosen. Chateau Ste. Michelle was selected as Wine Enthusiast magazine's 2004 American Winery of the Year. It was owned by Altria (formerly known as Phillip Morris), and then sold to the private equity firm Sycamore Partners in 2021.

Northshore Middle School is a public middle school in Bothell, Washington. Most students go to Inglemoor High School after graduating from NMS, as it is commonly referred to. The feeders schools are Arrowhead Elementary, Woodmoor Elementary, and Moorlands Elementary. The school hosts an AAP (Advanced Academics Program) for students whose assessment scores qualify them for the highly capable program.In 2017, Northshore Middle School was re branded and reworked from Northshore Junior High into Northshore Middle School, which made it a grade 6th to 8th school.

Hollywood Farm was a 206-acre dairy farm in the Sammamish Valley, approximately 25 miles northeast of Seattle. It was built in 1910 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The property is now occupied by the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. The Craftsman house was a 1+1⁄2 story frame structure with a concrete foundation and full basement, approximately 75' by 60'. The property also included a carriage house, separate caretaker's residence, and greenhouses. Several acres surrounding the main residence were elaborately landscaped by the Olmsted Brothers firm.
