Snaith and Pollington railway station

Sykehouse railway station was a station on the Hull and Barnsley and Great Central Joint Railway between Thorpe-in-Balne and Snaith and Pollington. It was built with the line which opened on 1 May 1916, but the station never opened to passengers. Like most stations on this line, it was situated on the edge of Sykehouse some distance from the village centre, in the hamlet of Topham, just south of where the railway crossed the River Went. Despite never opening to passengers, the station had the necessary facilities, and the two flanking platforms remained in situ until 1960. The station was controlled by a signal box situated by the level crossing at the end of the platform, which lasted until the final closure of the line.

It is situated approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) south-west of the town of Snaith and 1 mile (1.6 km) south of the M62 motorway. It lies on the north bank of the Aire and Calder Navigation. According to the 2011 UK census, Pollington parish had a population of 966, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 939.

Kirk Bramwith is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. It had a population of 200 in 2001, increasing to 320 at the 2011 Census. The village centre is located on a narrow strip of land, sandwiched between the River Don Navigation to the south east and the New Junction Canal to the north west. It is low-lying, with most of it close to the 16-foot (5 m) contour, and is almost surrounded by drainage ditches.

Bramwith railway station was a small station on the South Yorkshire Railway's line between Doncaster and Thorne. It served the village of Kirk Bramwith, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. The original line followed closely the canal bank coming close to the village. The original station was opened with the line on 7 July 1856 and closed on 1 October 1866. With the new "straightened" line being further from the village this station was not resited.

Snaith Priory was a Benedictine priory in Snaith, within the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The priory was located at the Church of St Lawrence in Snaith, which has been a Grade I listed building since 1967. It was founded shortly after 1101, and dissolved in 1539.
