Shrewsbury Barrow

Eaglesfield Park is a public park situated close to the top of Shooter's Hill, south of Woolwich, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in south east London.

85–91 Genesta Road are four terraced houses in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, located south of Plumstead, north of Shooter's Hill near Plumstead Common, and are the United Kingdom's only modernist terrace built in the 1930s, designed by the architectural pioneer Berthold Lubetkin with A. V. Pilichowski. The houses were among the first attempts to redesign the traditional English house with the benefits of concrete construction. Completed in 1934, they are listed grade II*.85–91 Genesta Road was the first domestic project in the U.K. undertaken by Lubetkin. Built in the middle of a 19th-century terrace, the site was previously an orchard, and its principal feature is its height and the dramatic, almost precipitous fall to the north, giving views across the River Thames from the rear of the property. Neighbouring Victorian cottages overcome this site by having steps that lead up to a first floor, relegating the ground level to a basement. Lubetkin, however, placed the entrance on the ground floor, with a spiral staircase leading up to the living room. This arrangement gives full frontage to the living room and provides off-street parking next to the front door.The bulk of the accommodation is on the first and second floors. The party walls and the intermediate columns are articulated in counterplay with the horizontal concrete window band that projects at living room level. Relieving curves at the entrance and the cyma bedroom balconies are typical characteristics of Lubetkin's work, occurring in other buildings such as Highpoint I.

Shooter's Hill (or Shooters Hill) is a district in South East London within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. It borders the London Borough of Bexley. It lies north of Eltham and south of Woolwich. With a height of 132 metres (433 ft), it is the highest point in the Borough of Greenwich and one of the highest points in Greater London. Shooter's Hill also gives its name to the A road which passes through east to west and is part of the A207 road, the A2 road, and also Watling Street.

The Memorial Hospital, Woolwich (sometimes also called the Greenwich Memorial Hospital) is a hospital situated on Shooter's Hill in southeast London in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Today run by the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, it mainly functions as a day centre for the elderly while also offering facilities for psychiatric patients.

Shrewsbury Park is a public park situated on Shooter's Hill, south of Woolwich, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in south east London. The park is east of Plum Lane, and north of the Shooter's Hill golf course. It takes its name from the earls of Shrewsbury; the land was formerly part of the Shrewsbury estates, and Shrewsbury House (a library and community centre built in 1923 - replacing an earlier mansion built by the 15th Earl) is nearby. The house's grounds were leased for a London County Council Open Air School from 1908 and in 1928 the LCC purchased part of the grounds for public open space, which became Shrewsbury Park. Just outside the park is the Shrewsbury Barrow or tumulus, the remains of a Bronze Age burial mound.During World War II the park was the site of a barrage balloon, part of the Air Ministry's Field Scheme Nosecap for the defence of London; during the Battle of Britain it was manned by 901 County of London Barrage Balloon Squadron, based at nearby RAF Kidbrooke.Parts of the park are designated as conservation areas. The Green Chain Walk passes through the park.Shrewsbury Park includes meadows and areas of woodland, and is popular with dog walkers and joggers. The Friends of Shrewsbury Park, established in 2006, organises various events and manages volunteer park maintenance get-togethers. Projects have included installation of a drinking water fountain. North of the park is Dot Hill, a former allotment site that has now reverted to grassland and scrub, or 'emergent woodland'. A small stream runs at the eastern end.

The Wogebourne () is an 8 km (5.0 mi) tributary of the River Thames in the southeast London boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley, that flows generally in a northeasterly direction, from its source in Oxleas Wood in Shooter's Hill, to Thamesmead where it joins the Thames. The Wogebourne has appeared in records since at least the fourteenth century, and has been known by other names including Woghbourne, Plumstead River, and Wickham Valley Watercourse. The upper reaches of the watercourse in Shooter's Hill, Falconwood, Welling, and East Wickham are above ground through woodland, farmland and fields, where several smaller tributaries join; whereas the lower reaches in Plumstead, Abbey Wood, and Thamesmead are mostly underground within culverts. The final part of the river in Thamesmead was previously marshland which was drained in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, where the Wogebourne now completes its course through a man-made lake called Southmere and a purpose-built channel named Crossway Canal which empties into the Thames at Crossness.

Oxleas Wood is one of the few remaining areas of ancient deciduous forest in Eltham in the Royal Borough of Greenwich (with a small amount passing over the boundary into the London Borough of Bexley), in southeast London. Some parts date back over 8,000 years to the end of the last ice age, the Younger Dryas. It is part of a larger continuous area of woodland and parkland on the south side of Shooter's Hill: other parts are Jack Wood, Castle Wood (home to Severndroog Castle), Oxleas Meadows, Falconwood Field, Eltham Common and Eltham Park North (the latter being divided by the A2 main road from its southern section). Eltham Park North includes the ancient Shepherdleas Wood.

History of the Old Kent Road is a mural by the Polish artist Adam Kossowski. It is on the exterior of the former North Peckham Civic Centre in London.

Plumstead Common is a common and urban park in Plumstead in the Royal Borough of Greenwich (SE18), south-east London. It is part of the South East London Green Chain.

The Woodlands Farm Trust is a registered charity that administers the 89-acre Woodlands Urban Farm in Royal Borough of Greenwich, London. The farm was saved by the community from development by house builders in a successful local campaign stretching from 1995 to 1997. It was previously threatened by the Greater London Council plan for the East London river crossing and road scheme which crossed the land and was planned to run through the adjacent ancient forest. The Farm Land is owned by The Co-operative Group a UK consumer co-operative society, but leased to the charity on a 999-year lease at peppercorn rent. The farm is located on Shooter's Hill, situated a vein of protected Metropolitan Open stretching from Eltham to Plumstead and Welling in South East London, across Shooter's Hill (A207 road) from Oxleas Wood and located next to the new London Olympic Legacy Horse Riding College.

The Boer War Memorial in Woolwich is opposite the Royal Artillery Barracks on Grand Depot Road in Woolwich. The memorial marks the deaths of the 18 soldiers of the 61st Battery Royal Field Artillery who died in the Second Boer War. The memorial is a tall thin pink granite obelisk on a square plinth with a three-step base.The memorial has been Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England since 1973.

The Royal Military College (RMC), founded in 1801 and established in 1802 at Great Marlow and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England, but moved in October 1812 to Sandhurst, Berkshire, was a British Army military academy for training infantry and cavalry officers of the British and Indian Armies. The RMC was reorganised at the outbreak of the Second World War, but some of its units remained operational at Sandhurst and Aldershot. In 1947, the Royal Military College was merged with the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, to form the present-day all-purpose Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
