Trafford power station

The 1984 Eccles rail crash occurred on 4 December 1984 at Eccles, Greater Manchester, when an express passenger train collided at speed with the rear of a freight train of oil tankers. The driver of the express and two passengers were killed, and 68 people were injured. The cause of the accident was determined to be that the driver of the express train had passed a signal at danger.

Ladywell is a tram stop on the Eccles Line of Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink system. It is located in the Ladywell area of the City of Salford, in North West England, and opened on 12 June 1999 as part of Phase 2 of the system's expansion. Ladywell has a Park and Ride car park for Metrolink customer which is a few minutes' walk from the end of the platforms. The tram stop itself is named after the nearby roundabout, Ladywell roundabout, under which the tram lines are tunnelled.

Trafford Park Aerodrome (Manchester) was the first purpose-built airfield in the Manchester area. Its large all-grass landing field was just south of the Manchester Ship Canal between Trafford Park Road, Moseley Road and Ashburton Road and occupied a large part of the former deer park of Trafford Hall. Today's Tenax Road runs north–south through the centre of the site of the old airfield, which was 0.7 miles northeast of today's Trafford Centre.

It is composed of a bus station, and a single-platform Metrolink light rail station, the latter of which is the terminus of the system's Eccles Line. It opened on 21 July 2000. It is roughly 310 metres (340 yd) away from Eccles railway station.

St Mary the Virgin's Church is an active Anglican parish church in Eccles, Greater Manchester, England. The church is in the Eccles deanery, the archdeaconry of Salford and the diocese of Manchester. Together with St Andrew's Eccles, St Paul's, Monton, Christ Church, Patricroft and St James', Hope the church is part of the team benefice of Eccles. The church was granted Grade I Listed status in 1964.
