Harrisburg, a northeastern suburb of Charlotte, is a city in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, United States. The population was estimated to be 16,576 as of 1 July 2019.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is a motorsport complex located in Concord, North Carolina, 13-mile (21 km) outside Charlotte. The complex features a 1.500 mi (2.414 km) quad oval track that hosts NASCAR racing including the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day weekend, and the Bank of America Roval 400. The speedway was built in 1959 by Bruton Smith and is considered the home track for NASCAR with many race teams located in the area. The track is owned and operated by Speedway Motorsports with Greg Walter as track president. The 2,000 acres (8.1 km2) complex also features a state-of-the-art 0.250 mi (0.402 km) drag racing strip, ZMAX Dragway. It is the only all-concrete, four-lane drag strip in the United States and hosts NHRA events. Alongside the drag strip is a state-of-the-art clay oval that hosts dirt racing including the World of Outlaws finals among other popular racing events.

Jay M. Robinson High School, often referred to as Robinson, JMR, or JRob by students, is a comprehensive public high school located in Concord, North Carolina. It is the fifth high school of the Cabarrus County Schools system, opening its doors in August 2001, the county's first new high school since 1966. The school's enrollment dropped with the openings of Cox Mill High School and Hickory Ridge High School. The school was constructed under the name Southwest Cabarrus High School, but was renamed in 2001 after the death of Jay Robinson, Chairman of the North Carolina State Board of Education and former Cabarrus County Schools administrator.

Harrisburg station is a planned infill train station in Harrisburg, North Carolina, located on the North Carolina Railroad (NCRR). When it is completed, Amtrak's Carolinian and Piedmont will serve the station. The station building will also have office space for the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department. It will be the nearest Amtrak station to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Wolf Meadow Branch is a 2.50 mi (4.02 km) long 1st order tributary to Coddle Creek in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. This is the only stream of this name in the United States.

Hickory Ridge High School is a comprehensive public high school in Harrisburg, North Carolina. It became the sixth high school in the Cabarrus County Schools system when it opened on August 27, 2007. It has been designated by the North Carolina Board of Education an Honor School of Excellence, North Carolina's highest distinction, for 2008–2009, 2009–2010, and 2010–2011. It is one of only four traditional high schools in the state to receive this honor.

PNC Music Pavilion (originally Blockbuster Pavilion and formerly Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre) is an outdoor amphitheater in Charlotte, North Carolina, that specializes in hosting large concerts. The venue largely replaced the Paladium at Carowinds as the premier outdoor venue in the Metrolina region. It was renamed under a new naming rights deal with PNC Bank. It has a capacity of 19,500 (7,232 seats under pavilion, 2,221 reserved seats on lawn and 10,000 general admission seats). The amphitheater is located on Pavilion Boulevard in the University City neighborhood near the US 29/I-485 (Outerbelt) interchange. The venue is operated by Live Nation, a concert company. The amphitheater hosts many different varieties of acts, including rock, alternative, pop, country, jazz, and rhythm and blues, along with special events and festivals of all kinds. Former Beatle Paul McCartney's final North American concert of The New World Tour was held at the amphitheater on June 15, 1993. The show was nationally broadcast on Fox, who aired commercials in place of some live songs. The venue gained some notoriety in 2005, when Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran referred to the city of Charlotte as "Charlotte, Virginia". The venue is a popular stop for summer tours, usually sandwiched between shows at Raleigh's Coastal Credit Union Music Park and Atlanta's Cellairis Amphitheatre, both of which are similarly sized venues. The Vans Warped Tour, Ozzfest and other traveling festivals generally always make an appearance here.

The station's studios are located in the Chantilly-Commonwealth section of east Charlotte, and its transmitter is located in the unincorporated area of Newell in northeastern Mecklenburg County (just northeast of the Charlotte city limits). WRFX (99.7 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Kannapolis, North Carolina and serving the Charlotte metropolitan area. Owned by iHeartMedia, it airs a classic rock radio format, and calls itself "99.7 The Fox." The radio studios and offices are on Woodridge Center Drive in South Charlotte. WRFX is the flagship station for the John Boy and Billy Big Show, a nationally syndicated morning show heard around the country. WRFX has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. The transmitter is off Caldwell Road in Charlotte. WRFX broadcasts using HD Radio technology; its digital subchannel carries the all news Black Information Network, which feeds FM translator W254AZ (98.7 MHz) in Belmont.

Coddle Creek is a stream/river that rises near Mooresville in Iredell County, North Carolina. It flows through most of northwestern Cabarrus County, North Carolina, where it empties into Rocky River near Harrisburg, North Carolina.
