Lindhurst

Lindhurst Wind Farm is a power-producing wind farm in Lindhurst parish near Mansfield, England. Built for Npower Renewables, it produces electricity from five wind turbines. It has a total nameplate capacity of 9 MW of electricity, providing enough power to serve the average needs of 5,400 homes.The turbines stand 125 metres (410 ft) high to the rotor tip, making them the tallest in Nottinghamshire.

Skegby was a rural district in Nottinghamshire, England from 1894 to 1935. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894 based on that part of the Mansfield rural sanitary district which was in Nottinghamshire (the rest becoming Blackwell Rural District in Derbyshire). It consisted of the parishes of Blidworth, Fulwood, Haywood Oaks, Lindhurst, Skegby, Sookholme and Teversal. In 1935 the district was abolished under a County Review Order. Some urbanised parts went to Warsop and Sutton in Ashfield urban districts, with the rest going mainly to Southwell Rural District and part to Basford Rural District.

The hamlet consists of Bottoms Farm, the Fox and Hounds public house and a small number of houses. In the 19th century a barn was converted into a Primitive Methodist chapel. Well attended in the 1860s, it had fallen into decline by the 1900s.

It borders Papplewick, Newstead Abbey and Blidworth, and is part of Nottinghamshire's Hidden Valleys area. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 5,636, reducing marginally to 5,629 at the 2011 census.

The Hutt is a public house located in the village of Ravenshead in Nottinghamshire, opposite Newstead Abbey. The pub was built on the site of The Royal Hutt in 1400 as part of the Newstead Estate, which was given to Sir John Byron in 1540.

Rainworth is a village in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England. It is split between the local government districts of Newark and Sherwood and Mansfield.To the north of Rainworth is the village of Clipstone and to the east are the villages of Bilsthorpe and Farnsfield. Mansfield lies two miles to the west. The village of Blidworth is a mile to the south. The A617 dual-carriageway bypasses the village. The roundabout at the western terminus was the starting point for the Mansfield and Ashfield Regeneration Route. The former route through the village is the B6020.

Joseph Whitaker School is a secondary school with academy status in Rainworth near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire in England. The school takes its name from Joseph Whitaker, a naturalist who lived in Rainworth at Rainworth Lodge.The school is part of the East Midlands Educational Trust (EMET) which it joined in September 2016. The headteacher is Carey Ayres, who took over from David Bell in 2020. The school has its own sixth form college for post-16 A-Level studies. In November 2012, the school's flagship £1,000,000 sixth form centre opened. It contains teaching rooms, a media suite, various study areas and a café. All post-16 students have access to the school's on-site fitness suite as part of their membership to the sixth form.

A.F.C. Mansfield is a football club based in Forest Town, a suburb of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. Nicknamed 'The Bulls', they are currently members of the United Counties League Premier Division North and play at the Forest Town Stadium.
