Grace United Methodist Church (Atlanta)

The Tyree Building, at 679 Durant Pl., NE, in Atlanta, Georgia, was built in 1915–16. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It was designed by architect Haralson Bleckley and was one of the earliest garden apartments buildings in Atlanta.The Tyree is one of the first buildings in Atlanta built in the Beaux-Arts style of architecture. Only a few out of many Atlanta apartment buildings designed by Bleckley have survived.

U-Rescue Villa was an Atlanta Housing Authority public housing complex built in 1970 and torn down in May 2008. It was located at 355 North Avenue N.E., between Central Park and Parkway, in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. It had 70 units and 271 residents at the time of demolition.The name came from a neighborhood organization U.-Rescue which stood for "Urban renewal Emergency: Stop, Consider, Understand, Evaluate". U-Rescue fought for the interests of local residents in the face of massive urban renewal plans after 1965. Slums areas such as Buttermilk Bottom were razed to make way for urban renewal projects such as Bedford Pine, but in reality very little low income housing was ever built to replace the housing units that were razed. U-Rescue and other organizations fought to build more low-income housing and U-Rescue Villa was a result of those efforts.The Cosby Spear high-rise is located in the middle of what was the U-Rescue Villa complex and remains standing, housing senior citizens.

The Midtown Historic District in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It is roughly contiguous with what the Midtown Alliance organization calls the "Midtown Neighborhood", which is only part of the much larger Midtown neighborhood. The Midtown Local Historic District organization seeks to designate most of the current historic district as a "local historic district", which unlike simply being listed on the National Register, provides tools for preservation of the historic architecture.The listing included 722 contributing buildings and a contributing structure on 360 acres (1.5 km2). It also included 168 non-contributing buildings and 47 non-contributing sites.It includes works by Haralson Bleckley, W.A. Brightwell & Sons, Mitchell & Conklin, Lewis E. Crook, Willis F. Denny, Walter T. Downing, C.E. Frazier, Bruce and Morgan, Gottfried Norrman, Benjamin R. Padgett, Emil Seiz, Hentz, Adler & Shutze, Bleckley & Tyler, Harry L.Walker, and Lelia Ross Wilburn.

Ponce City Market is a mixed-use development located in a former Sears catalogue facility in Atlanta, with national and local retail anchors, restaurants, a food hall, boutiques and offices, and residential units. It is located adjacent to the intersection of the BeltLine with Ponce de Leon Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward near Virginia Highland, Poncey-Highland and Midtown neighborhoods. The 2.1-million-square-foot (200,000 m2) building, one of the largest by volume in the Southeast United States, was used by Sears, Roebuck and Co. from 1926–1987 and later by the City of Atlanta as "City Hall East". The building's lot covers 16 acres (65,000 m2). Ponce City Market officially opened on August 25, 2014. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.

Southern Dairies is a loft office redevelopment of a former dairy production facility and the Empire Manufacturing Company Building located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. The primary building was built in the early 1900s as a milk distribution facility. The Empire Manufacturing Company Building facing Glen Iris Dr. was built in the 1939. In the late 1990s, renovation was started to convert the buildings into loft office space. Southern Dairies is often credited as being one of the first warehouse conversions in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta. In August 2002 the building was added the National Register of Historic Places. The project is located at the intersection of Glen Iris Dr and North Avenue next to the planned Jamestown development Ponce City Market. In October 2019, Jamestown purchased Southern Dairies campus for approximately $34.5 million.

The Empire Manufacturing Company Building located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia. The building was built in 1939 by the North Carolina firm of Jackson & Edney for the National Linen Service Corporation which in 1962, merged with Zep to become National Service Industries, Inc. In the late 1990s, renovation of the building was started to convert the building into loft office space as a part of the Southern Dairies redevelopment. In February 2002, the building was added the National Register of Historic Places. The building was built with "a clear span truss system that permitted a 95-foot span without any supporting members to break up the floor space". It has Art Deco architecture.

Ponce de Leon Springs were natural springs located on the site of Ponce City Market (formerly the Sears building, then City Hall East) in Atlanta, where Ponce de Leon Avenue crosses the BeltLine, and where the Old Fourth Ward, Virginia Highland, Midtown and Poncey-Highland neighborhoods of Atlanta meet. In the 1860s, trips to the springs on John Armistead's beech grove became a popular day trip among Atlantans. An Atlanta physician, Dr. Henry L. Wilson, named them in honor of Juan Ponce de León, asserting that they kept one young; today's Ponce de Leon Avenue is named after the springs. On June 20, 1874 the Ponce de Leon line of the horse-drawn Atlanta Street Railway was extended to the springs, with service every 15 minutes from 5:30 A.M. to 10 P.M., for a fare of 10 cents. In the 1890s the Nine-Mile Circle streetcar line arrived, bringing many more visitors. Ponce de Leon amusement park was built around the springs. In 1924, the amusement park had seen its day and Sears Roebuck built its Southeastern headquarters on the site. Until 2009, the building functioned as City Hall East, then plans were put in place to redevelop the building as Ponce City Market, a multi-use residential, office and retail complex. On August 25, 2014 Ponce City Market opened.

The Ponce de Leon amusement park was built on the site of Ponce de Leon Springs. Omnibus service from Atlanta to the springs started in 1872, and in 1874 horsecar service started. It developed in the late 1880s and 1890s with the addition of attractions for children, a dance hall and theater, and picnic grounds. In 1903 construction of the full-fledged amusement park began. By then the park was served by the Nine-Mile Circle electric streetcar line. In 1907, a four-acre lake on the north side of Ponce de Leon Avenue was filled in to make way for the Ponce de Leon ballpark, now the Midtown Place strip mall. The amusement park was whites-only – a sign at the entrance made clear, "colored persons admitted as servants only".The amusement park closed in the early 1920s. The Sears, Roebuck southeastern headquarters was built on the site, opening in 1926, the building now known as Ponce City Market (former Sears building/City Hall East).

Central Park is a 17.37 acre park in the Fourth Ward West neighborhood of the Old Fourth Ward in Atlanta, Georgia. It was known as Bedford-Pine Park prior to 1999. The open space was created as a result of City of Atlanta Urban Renewal in the 1960s. The Atlanta community comes to this park for casual use and coordinated events such as free movie nights that occur on certain days in the spring time and weekly during the summer season. Food festivals and work out classes are also hosted at Central Park. In addition to the Music Midtown festivals being held in Central Park in the early 2000s, Central Park also currently hosts the two very widely known music festivals, Shaky Knees as well as Shaky Beats in May. These music festivals last for 3–4 days and are a huge attraction and activity for both residents and tourists. This park is a sports oriented park with basketball courts, tennis courts, multi-purpose fields (soccer, football, kickball, softball) and a small playground for children. Plus, it has an indoor recreation center with a basketball court, small weight room and meeting rooms. In August 2013, a visioning process (master plan) for the park was started and involves the Fourth Ward West neighborhood association, Friends of Central and Renaissance Parks, Park Pride and the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation Department. Hundreds of park users were interviewed and the final plan should be available by the summer of 2014. This plan may include sand volleyball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, walking/fitness path, new basketball courts, splash pad for children and a regulation size baseball field. All of this to be handled in phases as funding is made available.

Ponce de Leon Park ( PONSS də LEE-ən; also known as Spiller Park or Spiller Field from 1924 to 1932, and "Poncey" to locals, was the primary home field for the minor league baseball team called the Atlanta Crackers for nearly six decades. The Crackers played here in the Southern Association (1907–1959) and the International League (1962–64). It was also home of the Atlanta Black Crackers who captured the second half championship of the Negro American League in 1938.The ballpark was located at 650 Ponce de Leon Avenue; the street ran along the south side of the park i.e. along its first base side. Behind right and center field, atop the slope bordering the park on the East, were the tracks of the Southern Railway, now part of the BeltLine, a trail and future transit ring around the central neighborhoods of Atlanta. Across the street was the Ponce de Leon Amusement Park until 1926, when the hulking Sears Roebuck Southeastern Headquarters, now known as Ponce City Market, was built.

Midtown High School, formerly Henry W. Grady High School, is a public high school located in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It began as Boys High School and was one of the first two high schools established by Atlanta Public Schools in 1872. In 1947, the school was named after Henry W. Grady, a journalist and orator in the Reconstruction Era and a white supremacist. In December 2020, the Atlanta Board of Education announced the new name of Midtown which took effect June 1, 2021. Midtown is located adjacent to Piedmont Park at 929 Charles Allen Drive, between 8th and 10th Streets, in Midtown Atlanta.

Eddie S Henderson Stadium (formerly Grady Stadium) is an Atlanta Public School football stadium located in Midtown Atlanta, south of Piedmont Park. The stadium is one of two stadiums owned and managed by the Atlanta Public School (APS) system, the other being Lakewood Stadium. It is the only high school stadium in APS that is located on the campus of a high school. The stadium was used as a training site for athletes during the 1996 Olympic Games, and occasionally hosts public practices for the Atlanta Falcons. Henderson Stadium was designed by Richard Aeck, and is considered a masterpiece of modern engineering expression. For the fall of 2009, Henderson Stadium was closed due to renovation. All games were played at Lakewood Stadium and the Georgia Dome. The renovation was completed during Summer of 2010. A new running track and synthetic turf field was installed. The synthetic turf is FieldTurf. FieldTurf is also installed at Lakewood Stadium, the Georgia Dome and many other high-profile sports facilities worldwide.In February 2021, the APS board unanimously approved renaming the stadium after Eddie S. Henderson, a former coach, principal, and athletics director for APS.
